Old Trading House is a family-run menswear accessories business with roots in Yorkshire, England. Our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter's shop in a Yorkshire market town in 1924, selling flat caps cut from English wool, braces, and bow ties from English makers. The shop carried a hand-painted sign that read Whitley & Co — Outfitters, and for decades it's how local men dressed for weddings, funerals, and Sundays. Our father Henry took over in 1965 and ran it for fifty-three years. We grew up in that shop, watching boxes from English mills arrive every Tuesday and our father holding caps up to the light to check the wool grain. When he passed away in 2018, we spent two years rebuilding the business for a modern customer. We re-sourced fabrics from the same mills our grandfather used, kept the small shop in Yorkshire, and launched Old Trading House to do what he did — just on the internet instead of the high street. We sell flat caps, braces, bow ties, and the small things that make an outfit feel intentional. Every piece, we'd wear ourselves. If you need help — sizing, wedding orders, anything — one of us will answer. — James & Thomas Whitley Yorkshire, England
