Two bad experiences with this website
Two bad experiences with this website - both involving pre-orders.
The first time the item wasn't in stock. The consumer representative on the phone was rude and actually hung up on me! I had to call back and talk to a second person who was a little better. The manager called me later that night and he was super nice.
Second bad experienced: Pre-ordered Joni Mitchell's "Archives" box set for a great sale price. Release date came and went and after a week no shipping of product.
I called and have a medium-friendly representative who simply told me the item was out of stock and they would cancel the order. I asked for the manager to call back and he never did.
So in conclusion:
1) Don't preorder from this site - if the item is not in stock it will sit in limbo indefinitely.
2) It seems the solution is to cancel an order rather than work to get the item in stock.
I'm especially mad because other websites were running sales on this box set that I've now missed. Now I have to pay full price.
After both these terrible experiences I'll never shop here again.
Update:
THIRD BAD EXPERIENCE.
I called to cancel the order since it isn't in stock and they don't know if it will be. The girl said I couldn't cancel my order. LOL. I had to get a bit assertive with her and she was RUDE RUDE RUDE.
What is up with this place? Who is training the people at this call center? Unbelievable!

Selection is still good
Selection is still good, and so is price. But waiting for my DVD's has become quite annoying. I understand that covid is responsible, but the waiting is still annoying.
Unreliable
Ordered and paid for a CD on 10/10 and it said usually ships in 2-5 days. A week later I checked status: “processing”? Another week went by and order status still showed “processing”. I called. Was told the order went thru, not sure why not shipped, will send order to supervisor and get out right away (I asked for free expedited shipping so the gift wouldnt be late). 5 minutes later I get a Paypal notice of refund! Several minutes later I get an email from Oldies that the order was cancelled and product not available! (What if I hadn't even called.) Totally unreliable and ‘sketchy’.

I have been a loyal customer of Oldies.com for many years. Recently I lost a very large DVD and CD collection and been utilizing Oldies’ site to replace my collection. Oldies has the BEST SELECTION, the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE staff, and Bernie is the VERY BEST problem-solver I have ever had the pleasure of working with. The prices are pretty good, most of the time, but I am willing to pay a little more for some rare items. I will be a loyal customer for a very long time!!

Would leave zero stars if I could. Company sells shipping insurance with purchases, then refuses to honor the insurance when something goes wrong. DO NOT BUY!
No refund - no communication
I have yet to receive an album I ordered over 20 days ago. The company will not refund me or respond to emails.
I filed an investigation/ refund demand through PayPal (what I used for payment method)
When I inquired a week after purchase - I was told the item was on back order. I would have never ordered the item if I knew it was going to be back ordered. I messaged again asking for a refund and nobody will contact me back
Easy to order, don't expect delivery quickly
The website works well and things are easy to find. Shipping times are awful. It took over two weeks to be shipped. I expected a delay but even for a small business, 17 days is rediculous.
Poof! Gone! Oldies.com lost a First Time Customer!
I ordered a Bob James CD on Aug. 13th, 2020. After a few weeks I called them. Lady I spoke to said it was because they're a small company and NOT Amazon or Ebay and because of Covid shipping was slow. Blah Blah Blah. I can put a cd in the mail and have it to you in 3 days. Im not Amazon or Ebay either. 2nd call a few days later I spoke to a (Philadelphia) Gent. Pleasant enough and scolding his processing dept. "don't you worry it'll get there. If you don't get it in a few days you call me again!" he said. A week later (a month after I ordered) I filed a claim with Paypal and got my money back. If I log onto Oldies.com (and it's 9.19.20) my account says the order is still "being processed". Either they don't have product they're advertising or they just don't know what the hell they're doing. Buyer Beware!! A HUGE waste of my time. I will never shop at Oldies.com again.
OLDIES IS GREAT, BUT EXPERIENCING TWO PROBLEMS
I like OLDIES.com and have purchased many cookie jars over the years/they've been great, until the last few/two probs/PROBLEM 1: the paint on some of them looks pretty bad: thin and not shiny, like the rest of the cookie jar/PROBLEM 2: the jars are packed in styrofoam, which is great, BUT ... with the last few, white styrofoam residue has been left on the jar, which I've had to remove ... gingerly, so as not to damage the paint/maybe another cushioning material?
WAITING WEEKS..IS IT COMING BY WAGON?

I've been a OLDIES customer for years. All my experiences have been great even when I had a minor problem with my latest order. Customer Service Rep handled the issue appropriately and timely. I'm 77 years now and OLDIES definitely has what I'm looking for.

Uncommunicative, service slow as molasses. Both of these are beyond annoying. I’d really love to buy my rare CDs from a co. besides Amazon, but Amazon RESPONDS to its customers! Oldies.com does not.
Ordered 8 DVDs, took 2 shipments, all OK
Received all DVDs in second shipment. I wish I had received an email telling me there were two shipments, scared me thinking I had lost money.
I'm sure things will work much smoother after covid gets handled.
