Office chair armrests defective
I bought a used Haworth Comforto 29 Office swivel chair for £135 in April this year from Office Furniture Outlet, Unit 2 Tasker Street, West Bromwich. Within two weeks one of the arm rest pads had started to split. I reported this to the company and they offered me a replacement arm pad which I picked up on May 7. Within another two weeks both the replacement arm pad and the other arm pad had also split. I asked the company to replace my chair with one that had arm rest pads that would not, under normal use, split. They refused, saying they only offered a 30-day warranty. The arm rest pads fitted to the chair are, under close inspection, poor copies of the genuine ones fitted by the manufacturer, having the material stapled to the underside of the rest instead of firmly encased. They claim to have sold numerous chairs of the same type with no issues. I dispute this because when I went to collect the first replacement arm rest, I was told that they had experienced several cases of the pads splitting. I found their customer service very poor, their attitude to me as a customer offhand and I would advise anyone thinking of buying used office furniture from this outlet to be extremely wary
