Excellent powerboat training in the heart of London.

Just a short distance from Tower Bridge at Shadwell pier NXT offers excellent training delivered by professional and experienced people. Ash (the CEO) ran our course which was comprehensive, well paced and with plenty of scope to practice and repeat some of the things that are more challenging to master as a novice.

Ash is especially skilled at using his many years of sailing and power boating experience to help course students get the most from the two days of the course.

It couldn’t have been a more positive experience. Though there is a lot to absorb, the pace of delivery covers the ground well with time for recap and consolidation of what you are learning in a positive, friendly and supportive environment.

A brilliant couple of days - I definitely recommend NXT Marine if you want to get this certification.

Absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish. I did the two-day Powerboat Level 2 course and genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better couple of days.

The instructors were incredibly friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable, which made the whole thing feel fun rather than intimidating. They explained everything clearly, gave us plenty of time actually handling the boat, and somehow managed to teach me a huge amount without it ever feeling like being back at school.

And what a classroom! The Thames was looking spectacular, the weather was ridiculously good, and cruising along with some of London’s best views while technically being there to “learn” felt slightly like cheating.

There was a great balance between the serious stuff — safety, manoeuvring, navigation and actually knowing what you’re doing — and getting to open the boat up a bit and properly enjoy it. I came away feeling far more confident, having learned loads, and, perhaps more dangerously, **now completely convinced that I need to buy a boat.**

So in that respect, the course may ultimately prove to be financially catastrophic.

Huge thanks to the instructors for making the two days so enjoyable. Friendly, professional, patient and genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. If you’re thinking about doing your Powerboat Level 2, I’d absolutely recommend it.
