I recently reached out to Nutriteam regarding the materials used in their Megahome distiller, specifically asking about the nozzle insert. My concern was that porcelain, which is currently used, is not completely inert and can leach toxic substances over time, whereas glass—particularly borosilicate—is generally considered safer. The older model of this distiller used a glass insert, but it was later changed to porcelain, which raises serious safety concerns. From the start, the company provided dismissive and unhelpful responses, repeatedly deflecting my questions and insisting that porcelain was safe and that the product had been sold “for a long time with zero issues.” That same reasoning has been used repeatedly in the past for materials that were later found to be harmful once examined more closely—including plastics.
When I asked about glass alternatives, they refused to provide any guidance and ultimately told me not to contact them again, which I found completely unprofessional. Their repeated statements, such as “the key is to keep water safe from plastics,” ignored the broader issue of material safety entirely and failed to address legitimate scientific concerns. They also said “the key is to keep water safe from plastics” which ignores the broader issue entirely. Material safety is not limited to plastics, and presenting it that way is misleading at best. The key is to keep their water safe from all toxic elements.
In my final response, I clearly explained the difference between porcelain and glass, exposed the misleading and negligent nature of their claims, and made it clear that I would be sharing this entire exchange publicly as proof of how Nutriteam handles—or more accurately, ignores—legitimate customer safety concerns. This pattern of dismissive, evasive, and unprofessional behavior demonstrates a serious lack of transparency, competence, and respect for the very people who trust them with their health.
