Nugsmasher sucks

Nugsmasher sucks there customer service blows. A year later the thing leaks pressure and the knob will mess u up trying to tighten and release it. Now the POS temp went to 463 now they are charging me $278 to send it back to get it fixed. $90 of is for a empty box to send it back. If you do unfortunately buy one save the box and your original order number. They will try to claim they cant find you in there system. Im getting mine fixed then selling it. Horrible customer service

“Lifetime Warranty” — But Repairs Cost Half the Price of the Press

I can’t recommend NugSmasher based on my experience.
I purchased a NugSmasher OG press that was marketed as Made in America and expected premium components and support to match the price. Unfortunately, the unit showed minor hydraulic issues early on, which have now progressed to an active oil leak.
While investigating the problem, I inspected the press internally using an endoscope, without disassembling or opening the unit in order to avoid voiding the warranty, and found that the hydraulic system uses a 12-ton Torin low-profile bottle jack manufactured in China—a jack that currently sells for around $50 on Amazon and other retailers. The jack appears to have been modified to fit (the handle was cut and left unpainted), and is leaking oil from the bottom of the press.
I contacted NugSmasher and was quoted $346.83 total to process a lifetime warranty claim to repair or replace the hydraulic system, including shipping. That cost is difficult to justify when the core hydraulic component itself is inexpensive and readily available, especially given that the press originally cost $896 when purchased new.
During this process, NugSmasher also stated that the OG is a manual press and will always lose pressure, requiring continual pumping to maintain load. While some pressure relaxation may be expected, oil leakage, internal pooling, and oil discharging from the ram down to bottom of the press are failure conditions, not normal operation.
What’s most disappointing is that the press is marketed and stickered as a premium, Made-in-America product, without clear disclosure that a major, load-bearing component is imported from China. If it were described as assembled in the USA with domestic and imported parts, expectations would be different—but the hydraulic jack is a critical component of the press.
The frame and plates are solid, but the hydraulic system is essential to the press’s operation, and being faced with high warranty repair costs for a basic imported component has been frustrating. Between the purchase price and the quoted warranty repair cost, I could have purchased multiple presses using similar imported components.
Buyers should go in with clear expectations about component sourcing, long-term reliability, warranty-related repair costs, and the ease and speed of getting help from customer service.

NugSmasher refuses to repair unit they have said specifically stated needs repair.

NugSmasher refuses to repair unit with lifetime service warranty. They have also used false advertising on one of their videos to indicate compatibility/convenience for a product that does not meet those needs.

I contacted NugSmasher in June, providing a video of the failed unit. The issue is a jack within the unit. In June I provided a video of the failure. In June, they implied acknowledgement of the failure, asking for a follow up video of the jack air bleeding procedure. I could not provide this due to camera constraints, no tripod or filmer. I eventually asked for a support call meeting to confirm correct operation of the bleed procedure. They said they could not do anything without a video. I reuploaded the exact video from June. This time they mentioned the unit is operating within specification. The jack is obviously losing pressure within 1 minute, with a visible air gap by 2 minutes. The jack completely loses pressure by 5 minutes. This is unacceptable behavior. It is obvious there is air trapped in the jack or it has had some fluid loss. The unit was specified to have lifetime warranty and I paid a premium for this.

In addition to this I bought another component "decarboxylation capsule". One of their advertising videos on youtube mentioned this could be used with my product to make cartridges. The instructions were to leave the device under pressure for 24 hours. The default use case for the component is to leave under pressure for 25 minutes. When I contacted customer service, they stated that the jack was working as intended, that it required "constant pumping." This reduces any convenience for the product into more or a chore. I'm not following why they would indicate compatibility for these products with my unit if it requires constant pumping. Constant pumping of a jack for 25 minutes is unreasonable, and 24 hours is incomprehensible to me.

Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service. My press dont hold pressure since the first day I got it. It leaks oil inside (very little). For exemple, If I put 500psi and nothing between the plates, it comes back to zero psi under 30 sec and the plate seperate all the way to the bottom within 30 minutes ... I asked their customer service to get it repaired and they say that everything is normal and it should work like this. I have 2 friend who own the same machine and guess what, it hold the pressure ! Never again with those scammers.

My experience with NugSmasher was the…

My experience with NugSmasher was the worst to say the least. I ordered my NugSmasher mini on 1/21/24 a Sunday didn’t receive it into 1/26/24 a Tuesday didn’t get a confirmation code or anything to track it. They finally got back to me after a good wait… I received an email saying they were going to mail it to me mind you I paid the UPS next day air and was charged $70 extra to receive my package early when I received the mini, it looked poor quality, build the handle was scratched the pressing plates are cricket. I don’t know if they’re supposed to be like that or not? what make things worse they forget to send me the power cord to use the mini what the hell nugsmasher seriously. I had to go to Home Depot and purchase a replacement cord and waste time and money thanks nugsmasher. Customer service told me I could use any cord from a TV or a laptop if you could believe that. that’s unprofessional if you ask me, that’s like buying a brand new PlayStation five from best buy or target and they forget to put in the power cord to use it worst experience I had with this company would not recommend for anybody to purchase. And if you do do it at your own risk. Trust me if I could put zero stars, I would And then to make things worse, I asked if I could get some type of discount or reward something for having to wait for this power cord mind, you is their fault for not putting it in the box I was told We are going to overnight the cord that’s it. Customer service is a joke, live chatting with an agent it’s ridiculous They’re no help unprofessional & rude would’ve never be ordering from this company again.

If I could do it again I wouldn't.

So far this has been my experience with Nugsmasher. On 11/14/23 I ordered the mini. Didn't hear anything for the rest of the week so I contacted support on 11/20/23 and was promised it would ship either that day or the next. On 11/28/23 I still haven't heard a thing and I'm done at this point. I email them telling them to cancel my order because this is demonstrative of what it would be like if I had any warranty issues. On the same day they email me saying they shipped it that morning and ignore my request to cancel the order. I look at the shipping provided and the label was created late in the afternoon HOURS after I had sent the email to cancel. So, they lied about when they would ship it, then they lied about when they actually did ship it. I have all the receipts to prove all these lies. I still don't have the unit and my fingers are crossed I don't have any issues because it's pretty clear they'll be near useless honoring their "lifetime warranty." Avoid these people. I'm in too deep to escape, but it's not too late for you. If I could do it again I wouldn't go near a company that behaves this way. I'll give them 2 stars because who knows, maybe I won't have any issues. Fingers crossed.

Update: I'm changing my review to 4 stars. I finally received the product on 12/4/23 and it's a wonderful machine. The very first press I did was heavenly and I still have plenty to learn. Who knows, maybe one day I'll come back and give them that 5th star, but my ordering experience wasn't great at all.

This is more of a customer service…

This is more of a customer service issue ordered the Og
and then decided to purchase the X instead called in
and asked Paula the customer service rep if I could return at first she said I could get a company credit and then she checked with her Manager when I questioned why they couldnt just reverse my card she went and got approval from a manager to refund but that they would need to receive machine then I tried to purchase from her but she was unable to give me a quote on shipping she said she would call me back which she never did I wound up purchasing on their
website...
I received Og and called this morning ..unit is unused and I decided that I will keep the X and return the Og
now the same customer service rep is telling me I have to pay a 15%restocking fee when I was approved for the return of this unit prior to this mornings conversation and never indicated that there would be an additional charge
so I asked to speak with a manager and at this point
she told me she would have herself or a Brenden call me back which I have no confidence in based on our first conversation .... Im not just returning the og I just spent over 1200 on X and they want to charge me 15% on the unit I'm returning
I think this is poor way of doing business if this is in fact their common practice

It has been a very pleasurable experience using this press unit. Very easy to learn and use, simple and efficient. I spent a month researching rosin presses and this is the best home unit for the price, I'm glad I made this choice
