Nudge disgraceful service

I'm so sorry this is a negative review, I had high hopes for this services. After all this is a service which claims it can bridge those gaps. Provide stability for our children and nurture.
Firstly I have to say the lack of communication is disgusting, I've sent emails asking to clear basic information and got ignored or worse yet told incorrect information.
I've had staff not turn up. Leaving a child, upset. Angry. Rejected and without an education?
When ask I'm told their coming for the session today. Then their not.
I've got my daugther ready and prepared for the sessions to be let down with no explanation. And then I have to deal with a child who doesn't understand how feels like another person has rejected them. Who's relationship with those staff will.be effected.
Ok could name the senior I've been emailing. Has she is clearly the problem.
The l.a are paying for a service that we haven't had?
Sessions are never the 3 hours that's were agreed? We have only ever got 1-2 hours?
All issues have been easier and never addressed.
Nudge I find your service does not reflect or meet the needs of vulnerable children. In fact I'd go as far to say you shouldnt attempt to provide a service to children that you are clearly not prepared to support or understand.
And you also need to work on responding to people's concerns, ignoring them is not appropriate or polite.
I would not recommend this service ( if it can even be recognised has one) to anyone, I am utterly appealled.
And shame on the l.a for using this service, when it's not fit for purpose.

My experience with Nudge was…

My experience with Nudge was life-changing. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the young people, with whom I empathise, as I was once in a similar situation to them. The Job Nudge is needed everywhere to save our young people. My case manager and everyone involved in Nudge were extremely helpful to me whenever I needed assistance. The staff gatherings and constant check-ins were timely and helped me through difficult times. This organisation was one of the best I've worked with. I wish Nudge success and thank you once again for allowing me to work in your organisation.

Poor Man's Therapy

I have experience working with this organization, and I would like to share some important insights. The position operates under a zero-hours contract, offering a pay rate of approximately £14.75 per hour. In this role, you will be tasked with supporting disengaged and traumatized children, requiring you to take on multiple responsibilities, including those of a mentor, psychologist, and social worker, all while receiving low pay. A very important job for people with basic qualifications and experience. Expectations are high for low wages. Government funded.

I have been employed by Nudge for a year and love my job and the company’s values to give a young person a life worth living. They are passionate about supporting chronically disengaged children and young people with life skills, education, confidence building and resilience. On a personal level I have received excellent training and support from all the Managers. When my mum died they were amazing and made me feel valued, which enabled me to stay at work and keep good mental health. My ethos is everything Nudge stand for and I will hopefully continue to be part of the amazing work they do.

I can’t thank you enough

Wow, I cannot thank nudge enough for what they have done to support my autistic son. Completely life changing for him and also been so supportive to our family. The practitioner has been amazing and really got to know him and adapt to his likes dislikes and overall needs.

Making a difference

I’ve worked for Nudge Education for almost 5 years now and have never worked with a more passionate and dedicated group of people.
We are a very broad church with a wonderfully diverse range of experiences but with shared values and an unshakable drive to make a difference to the children and young people we work with every day.

The support across the organisation is phenomenal.

I’ve worked with vulnerable and hard-to-reach young people for over 23 years, and Nudge Education is by far the most supportive and impactful organisation I’ve been part of. I’ve now worked here for over 4 years, and it truly feels like home – not just a job.

Nudge is entirely focused on re-engaging some of society’s most at-risk children and young people. Every member of staff – from finance, recruitment, and referrals to management, regional teams, and especially the incredible practitioners on the ground – is completely committed to the mission of eradicating chronic disengagement from education, for a life worth living.

The support across the organisation is phenomenal. You’re never alone in your work, and there’s always someone to turn to. The sense of shared purpose and care is unlike anything I’ve experienced elsewhere.

If you’re a professional who wants to make a real difference – or a family looking for support – I can’t recommend Nudge Education highly enough.

A Practitioner's viewpoint

Its simple. Nudge has got it right. The entire company is driven to focus on the training, expertise, support and well being of it's Practitioners, which in turn, enables us to support our young people to the best of our ability.
All our systems are user friendly, and when they are not, the staff in each department, and at every level, are always keen to help, with a friendly approach. I never feel I can't seek help, or ask a question.
When a young person, their family, and the professionals involved with them, feel the positive changes that come from a Nudge Intervention, it is because they have had a Nudge Intervention, not just a Practitioner.

Working with Nudge has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Their mission statement and core values resonate deeply with my own beliefs and professional aspirations. Nudge is committed to re-engaging children who have been chronically disengaged from education, and their approach—using personalised and bespoke interventions—truly embodies a compassionate, student-centred philosophy that I admire.

The supportive ethos prevalent among Nudge practitioners fosters an inclusive and collaborative environment. It’s inspiring to work alongside individuals who are equally dedicated to making a difference in the lives of these young learners. The training opportunities provided by Nudge are exceptional; they not only enhance our skills as practitioners but also solidify our understanding of effective strategies to help our students succeed.

While the work can sometimes be challenging, the rewards far outweigh the difficulties. Witnessing the growth and positive changes in the children we serve is incredibly fulfilling. Furthermore, the strong team ethos at Nudge creates a sense of community and shared purpose, allowing us to support one another in our efforts. I feel truly fortunate to be part of such a dynamic and impactful organisation.

No Place Like It.

I want to share how much I value working at Nudge. Over the past three years, I've found immense satisfaction in positively impacting the lives of these young people. The fast-paced environment demands quick thinking and resilience, and while challenging at times, the reward of seeing young people and their families flourish makes it all worthwhile.

I truly can't imagine working anywhere else and look forward to continuing my journey with Nudge Education.

Core team member Newcastle office

I have been working for Nudge for a little over a year. They are a lovely bunch, it can be a demanding job which is fast paced and requires excellent multitasking skills but they are very supportive and really are extremely considerate of what is going on for you as a person. I work remotely (mostly) and they have been very flexible about my childcare and caring responsibilities. In truth without this it would likely have not been possible for he to work at all. It’s excellent to have the comfort of knowing you really are all on the same side and making a difference to the most disadvantaged young people in our communities.

Great support!

I have worked with Nudge Education staff for a number of years whilst they have supported staff attending our Forest School. I have always found the staff to be very caring, supportive and knowledgeable about the young people that they support. They have always had a great raport with the students and have always interacted well with other neurodiverse children and adults who have been sharing the setting at the same time.

Incompetent shambles of an organization

Absolutely horrendous. If I could give a 0 star rating I would. We experienced repeated examples of poor organization/ communication skills, weak leadership, unprofessional - & at times inappropriate/ harmful - conduct from employees of this organisation. We were subjected to a deeply distressing incident which caused wholly unnecessary pain & severe emotional trauma for the vulnerable young person engaging with the service, & for her family. Nudge seem to care more about participating in box-ticking excersizes rather than the actual well-being & education of service users. There is a review on Google ( from another parent) ) which states: " They used an "educational expert" with no SEN or mental health experience in an attempt to support my child with complex needs". I would absolutely echo this, & say my child suffered the same experience, & we were left questioning the qualifications of these " educational experts" & are deeply concerned about the amount of information/ training provided to them prior to their appointment. I notice this previous review has several upvotes so clearly this is a view shared by many service users, sadly. Some of the positive reviews on here, I am extremely suspicious of I have to say. My advice would be to think very carefully, question everything & research thoroughly before allowing a Nudge employee into your home or anywhere near your child/ children!
