Big Promises, No Results, High Costs – and an Unexpected Debt Collection Notice

Our experience with Nuanced Media was extremely disappointing.
We approached Nuanced to expand our successful Amazon Europe store into the U.S. market. During the initial meeting, they showcased impressive case studies of niche products they had allegedly helped turn into top sellers.

After making an upfront payment of nearly $5,000, things seemed to start well — listing optimizations were done, we invested in professional new photos and videos, and we enrolled in Amazon’s review program. So far, so good.

However, after three months, sales remained at zero. To address this, we opted for Nuanced’s advertising package, committing an additional $5,000 monthly ad budget. Despite this significant investment, after three weeks of ad campaigns, still no sales were generated.

By that point, we had already paid Nuanced around $10,000.
When we raised concerns, a meeting with the CEO was arranged. Instead of offering real solutions, he stated that success with niche products was "very difficult" (contradicting the initial promises) and recommended that we shift focus entirely to TikTok and influencer marketing — completely abandoning the original Amazon strategy we hired them for.

After four months, about $15,000 spent (including $2,500 on ads), and zero sales, we decided to end the collaboration. We verbally agreed to terminate the relationship and not to pay the final invoice, believing it was best to cut our losses.

However, nine months later, without any prior communication, we suddenly received a debt collection notice for nearly $2,000.

We are extremely disappointed with Nuanced Media. We were willing to leave it behind, but this level of audacity deserves a clear warning to others.

Summary:

Think twice before trusting Nuanced Media with your business.

Our team invested considerable effort in supporting your expansion to the U.S. market, such as listing optimizations, design, and advertising campaigns. As with any new market entry, results can vary based on numerous factors, including consumer behavior differences between regions. Recognizing the challenges, our team proposed additional strategies, including TikTok and influencer marketing, aimed at adapting to market realities, not abandoning your original goals.

Regarding the conclusion of our engagement, although our agreement required a 30-day termination notice, we waived that requirement in good faith to accommodate your needs. We also applied over $3,000 in service credits — including forgiving an invoice that had been previously paid — in an effort to close the partnership amicably.

Unfortunately, after these credits were extended, a reversal of payment altered the final account balance. Despite multiple follow-up efforts by both our billing team and senior leadership between October 2024 and April 2025, we received no response. In accordance with our standard practices, the outstanding balance was eventually referred to collections. We are pleased to see that the matter has since been resolved.

At Nuanced Media, we value transparency and client partnerships deeply. While outcomes in emerging market expansions can never be guaranteed, we strive to act with integrity and fairness at every step. We appreciate all feedback and will continue to use it to reflect and improve.

Digital Strategy & PPC for Toy Company

We've seen exponential growth in our Amazon sales since the beginning of the project. I am really pleased with Nuanced Media proven results.
I have weekly meetings with the account manager and strategist to review progress and results, and discuss next steps. We use the basecamp platform for each and every step of the project, so it's easy to keep track of everything.

Shopify Dev, Advertising & PPC for Orchad Family Business

Connecting with Nuanced Media has made a world of difference. The results have been stellar.
We've only been on Amazon for a month, and on Shopify for a month and half. From initial sales that are pouring in on Shopify and coming from Amazon, we're on track to grow the company by about $1 million in revenue this year.
We didn't know how to fast track two huge projects at the same time and still be productive, but Nuanced Media pulled us into their frame work. They created a high-level project management system - a multi-scaled agile framework - that accesses all plans, initiatives, marketing strategies, apps, creative projects, and all creative content, all under one network of connected mini-networks.

Amazon Marketing Services for Femtech products…

We've been up and running for somewhere between 90/120 days, and we're already at an annual run rate of about $10 million per year. The initial ROI on ads on Amazon is far higher than any other ROI we have, including Facebook and Google. They just blow them out of the water by 2-3 orders of magnitude. That itself has been a huge benefit to me in being able to balance out market acquisition.

Amazon & E-commerce Dev & Strategy for Seat Cover Company

The returns on our monthly promotions are impressive. They made huge improvements to our online storefront, integrating a new system that lets me manage listings more easily. It was also helpful to have them walk us through the new processes.
Before our engagement with them, we were selling about 200 units of a certain product each month. Since we passed responsibilities over to them, they provide us with great content and analysis on which markets to actively target. From that point on, we've averaged over 900 units of the same product per month in sales The product is the same, but they were able to find and capitalized on the opportunity.
They're available to us whenever we need support and have saved us a lot of money. We were impressed with their willingness to hold our hands through out the process. They were in contact through Basecamp, which allowed for a super organized process. we assign tasks and communicate on the platform. There was full transparency our weekly meeting notes were even uploaded. The platform was very easy to use as well.

Amazon Dev & Strategy for Crystal products Company.

Its been a wonderful success, and were extremely happy. We started selling products in the first week of March. Weve sold about 50,000 in the revenue product sales, which we considered a success. Its more than we anticipated. Were new starting to work with e-commerce on our own website. Each week, we meet with two members of their team, that keep us updated. Weve met on Zoom and had phone calls. They also have Basecamp, which we do a ton of communicating on. We can set up projects and ask questions. We couldnt do what weve done without that system.

Just Throw Your Money In The Trash - Should Be Named 'Nuisance Media'

Hiring this company to take over our Amazon PPC and listing optimization was the worst mistake I have ever made in the entirety of owning my business. I know Amazon pretty well, so finding their constant mistakes over the years and finally getting out was they only reason I was able to survive this train wreck. From the very start I noticed errors and just straight up negligence from Nuanced. Negative keywords were put into listing search terms. PPC spending was out of control and not monitored. For nearly an entire year my 'team' failed to do simple searches on trending search terms.. and hadn't applied any of the new terms to our campaigns - or advised me to add them to our listings. Their advice? Spend more money! It was my mistake to believe they were professionals, knew what they were doing and trust them with their responsibilities. They schmoozed me in video calls and acted as if everything was alright, and smothered me with apologies when I brought my concerns to their attention. At one point I was actually threatened that they would work with my competitors instead if I did not stick with them. Truly appalling after all the damage they had done. We lost a lot of money working with them. I don't recommend them to anyone. I truly hope they work with my competitors now, so they can waste their time and money on with horrible performance and sabotaged listings.

In response to their response : Your logs supporting that 'you worked' are nothing more than auto generated reports with basic level reviewing and no real game plan or strategies that ever improved results. It's true that at the end of our working relationship that I did stop attending some of the pointless zoom meetings, as they were no longer productive for myself or the company. I had already lost all confidence was searching for a new SEO company to take over and repair the damage you guys caused. Regardless, this is no excuse for YOU GUYS TO DO YOUR JOBS when you are supposedly the 'experts'. Luckily, I was able to find REAL professionals who actually know what they are doing. Good luck and good riddance'Nuisance Media'!

Hi, we would like to start by saying we are sorry to hear about your negative experience while working with our agency and that we didn’t meet your expectations.

I would like to clarify, that there were a number of external factors that were occurring with your account while we were working together such as increased competition from competitors with products priced as ½ as much for example. Amazon is a competitive marketplace and it is difficult to maintain a consistent growth trajectory while Amazon continues to mature as a marketplace and lower-priced competitors enter the marketplace.

We were monitoring all Amazon marketing campaigns on a very frequent basis, running DSP ads, and doing our best to be strong service providers. I am very sorry that it is felt that this wasn’t being done but I can assure you that we were and have the logs to support this.

Unfortunately, during the last 6 months of our relationship, we weren’t allowed to communicate via our normal bi-weekly video conferencing meetings but only via written communications based on your team’s request. This makes it very difficult to be a strong service provider since so much communication is lost without non-verbal communication.

Finally, I would like to clarify that we wanted to convey our dedication and simply inform you that your competitors were reaching out and trying to find agencies such as ours to help them with their Amazon efforts. This was not intended to be a threat but rather part of our partnership and candor. Unfortunately, this again is where the communication broke down with not being able to have a meeting and discuss things with added context and details.

I am truly sorry that your experience with Nuanced Media didn’t live up to your expectations.

We do continually work on improving our processes and ultimately the product we provide for our clients and have taken your feedback internally to review and update anything necessary. It is our goal to provide all clients with the highest quality and customer service.
