As someone from an Asian background

As someone from an Asian background, this raised concerns for me about potential bias in how customers are treated.

If you choose to get your vehicle repaired from a choice of your own garages these guys will make your life hell.

Acorn/Haven uses Northern Assessors for estimates/repairs who are bunch of bullies and also racist fron my opinion, they will give your garage hard-time Some of their requirements appear to be unlawful eg: they will advise your garage instead of replacing a part try and repairing it, asking for random pictures of parts/damages before during and after repairs, they will demand your garage if they can lower their hourly rates and cut corners just to save insurance costs etc etc list goes on……

Based on my experience, I would advise being very careful if you are from an Asian background, as I had concerns about how I was treated.

northern assessors

AOP northern assessors was sent by my car insurance company insure2drive underwriter sabre ,to do a independent assessment on my vehicle which was with turners Leeds so that it can be recorded has category B when it was clearly not cat B so that they could make profit and make excuses to reject my claim and not to pay me.
Avoid these guys please

AVOID AT ALL COST!

I've been going through the repair process for over 2 years and finally when i thought by having an independent assessor come out it would be resolved but was i wrong is an understatement. The assessor was colluding with the repairer to make the report exactly how they wanted in order to avoid liability of additional damage caused by them. He was very rude and unprofessional, and I would definitely not recommend this company. Will be taking legal action!

Great Service

After feeling stressed regarding an accident to my husbands vehicle I was dreading a visit from the insurance assessor mainly because we didn’t know what to expect .But our fears were alleviated initially when the visit was arranged on the phones to suit our timetable by nice girl.On the morning of the visit we were rung by a gentleman called Adam who told us when he would arrive . He was punctual and was a very polite knowledgable and friendly young man .He put us at our ease and took lots of photographs and was very thorough in his examination. He appreciated we were concerned and assured us he would deal with our case promptly.True to his word we got an answer re the outcome not long after his visit .I couldn’t recommend him or the company highly enough .We are very appreciative of his interpersonal skills and his abilities to put us at ease and feel confident in his ability Thanks again .

Corrupt …… bold statement but can’t be…

Corrupt …… bold statement but can’t be called anything else when they assess damage to vehicles with the agreement to save the insurers money at the cost of the customer. Add to that the lack of knowledge the “engineer” showed in my case, assessed a vehicle for my customer for me to repair via acorn insurance (another rogue company) and was quick to brag to me how amazing he was as a “forensic assessor” didn’t even spot the wheel was buckled, I had to send him a video of the wheel spinning and leaping from side to side, add to that the miles of inaccuracy’s in their whole process which is used as a delay tactic for the insurers to pay out. AVOID

He hadn't a clue what he was talking about. Claimed we should have used a "leakage kit " after we purchased our caravan. Knaus dealers after laughing at me confirmed that knaus do not supply or even know what a "leakage kit is.

Avoid

Avoid - National Insurance Emporium used this company to access a large crack to the caravan. Inspection involved climbing some ladders taking a couple of pictures and saying 'its a funny one isnt it' and 'its not conclusive but I have to put something in my report' Report states fracture damage but have not provided any evidence to support this claim. Having questioned the validaty of the report Northern Assesors refuse to respond or provide any evidence. Having researched what should have taken place this company did not conduct anywhere near a throough inspection. It is clear from other reviews the level of proffesionalism is lacking and they do not complete thorough examinations and am amazed National Insurance Emporium have used them and continue using them. Avoid.

They won’t bother to go and assess your vehicle unless you hassle them to. Once they finally do bother to go and assess, don’t expect a report any time soon; every single day I’m promised that it’ll be done, yet I’m still without a report. My car is a wreck, completely written off; how hard can it be to just confirm this detail and allow me to get on with my life? I am without a car due to the never ending process of receiving a simple engineer’s report. Avoid.

Don’t trust the reports

Northern assessors was sent by a third party insurance firm to inspect a repair that I had rejected as-: 1 the wrong colour match
2 the rear bumper still showing impact damaged ( not replaced as the estimate called for)
3 Parts of the rear not painted at all.
Plus a plethora of other issues.
The inspector reported that the repairer had gone above and beyond the standard expected for the repair. Since the “ above and beyond” repair it transpires the new tailgate was not primed and painted without any sort of primer being used and as such the paint has fallen off like a bad vinyl wrap. Even worse was the rear window was bonded to the paint and was a few closures from falling out. The report submitted would seem to be a collaboration between the repairer and themselves to mitigate further remedial repairs. Definitely NOT recommended

Had a gearbox issue with my motorhome…

Had a gearbox issue with my motorhome after being MOT'd. Solicitor wanted expert inspection and found this company near to my location. Emailed and got a call within 24hrs. Assured me they had full knowledge of the issue, could assess and diagnose the cause of the problem. Booked inspection 5 days later, after making payment. BIG, BIG mistake! All I got was bullshit report full of excuses and conjecture. I could have saved my money and got my 7year old granddaughter to inspect it. When asked how or why something happened I had to explain how a clutch worked, something a first year apprentice would be asked at interview. Golden rule if someone can come tomorrow or next week, they are not busy, and that is because they are no good! You have been warned.

Awful company

Awful company. Totally rip you off, nice to your face and just say in a ‘report’ (if you can call it that) “write your car off” for MINIMAL COSMETIC DAMAGE. The amount of stress these have caused me is unreal.

Absolutely s4it company

Absolutely s4it company,

They don’t have a clue what they are talking about and I would avoid dealing with this company.

Staff are rude and some of the people they have to assess the damage don’t have a clue what they are looking for

Hopeless

Emailed to inquire if I could speak to someone about obtaining an expert opinion for legal case and Eva (?) emailed back very promptly with a quote for an inspection asking for an upfront payment. Total incompetence. I’m afraid I gave her very short shrift.

Excellent Engineers

I have a propensity for vehicle destruction (2 cars, 3 motorcycles and 1 Scania tractor unit oh and a bus stop) and the Engineers at Northern Assessors never fail to come up trumps. Their professionalism and expertise never fail to impress I can’t recommend them enough.

Bunch of dishonest amateurs! Don't let them write your vehicle off!!!

Where do I start!?

So long story short, I came off my bike, nothing serious, just dropped it. Cosmetic damage to the side panel, gear lever broken off, that's it.

So I sent my bike off to my insurance company, Sabre (huge mistake) and they got a report done by Northern Assessors. The frame was damaged beyond repair according to their report and Sabre wrote my bike off. CAT B. Frame damage apparently...

So I got my bike back off them and got an independent report done. I asked Sabre to prove to me that the frame had suffered damage. After 8 months back and forth they eventually gave in and agreed that my independent report was better and that the bike was not a write off after all. In fact there was not even any cosmetic damage to the frame, let alone structural.

I will now be pursuing Northern Assessors for damages but since they were incredibly rude and dismissive towards me on the phone when I called them during the complaint process towards my insurance company, I have a feeling that this is going to be yet another painful process...

So in conclusion, don't use these guys! They're hacks!

Retracted job offer

Invited for interview for a job, I informed him of other job offers via telephone and asked if he was willing to negotiate. He said he was. Made the 2 hour drive to his office, accepted the job, 2 hour drive home and once home I declined the other 4 offers. Sent me a contract, took my bank details, driving licence etc for the file. Talking about our gentleman’s agreement as we shook on the deal. Then 5 days before Xmas rang me to withdraw the job offer due to “operational changes” which I then found out was actually the guy who’s job I was getting had retracted his notice and retained the job I was going to get. Asked him for some contractual notice pay and he didn’t even bother to return my email. Is now advertising for assessors and didn’t even think to give me a call and see if he could have helped me out of the potential hole he put me in.

Rude management, lack of care and dishonest practices

They inspected a car without propely looking at it, sent a different person who wasnt told what to look for who then based their report on inaccurate information as admitted by the assessors yet they refuse to do anything about it and their management are shockingly rude and have zero manners or phone skills
A shoddy low rate company at the beck and call of whoever is paying them and cares nothing for the consumer
They seem to lack basic operational structure or standards and appear to just play things “ by ear “ which is not what you want in a company who can decide the situation of your vehicle, one to wholeheartedly avoid

overpriced disappointment.

Pre-purchase - Overpriced poor quality report.
Reported that they could not test drive because vehicle not taxed (surely a professional company should have trade plates).
Also reported that they could not get under the vehicle because no hoist, (surely professional inspectors should have a jack or a mirror on a stick at least to inspect under a vehicle, or maybe lie on the ground.

Absolutely disappointing report that was charged as a full inspection despite not carrying out the full road test and underbody inspection paid £270 for something which should have been max £150 so I consider I was overcharged by about £120. because they take payment before doing the inspection and there is no way to request a refund.
