Pulled the plug on our booking ruining our holiday

We booked a large house with Noki Stays (via Airbnb) in Chester for 10 people friends and family. Now the date is approaching out of the blue they have pulled the plug on the booking their reason "Due to unforeseen circumstances, like maintenance issues won't be resolved until your arrival as the works are extensive" This seem to be a common theme looking at other reviews on Trustpilot. Avoid these crooks like the plague they will cancel your booking at the drop of a hat leaving you high and dry. All our holidays are lost with nothing available at such short notice.

Absolute Crooks

We booked to go to chester well over a month ago. 1 day before we were due to travel I got a message saying sorry it didnt work out reservation cancelled. Harry. We had previously booked another property and this company did the same thing then. Had we known it was the same company beforehand we would not have booked with them. Think twice before you book with them. They gave the same reason for cancelling. Maintenance work!! It was an identical message but they only sent that message after i told them i wanted a reason for cancelling. We are a group of 5. I spent nearly 2 hours on the phone to Vbro head office in Oregan trying to find something at last minute. We have ended up in a hotel not one i would select and although we were only going 3 nights we have managed to find somewhere else for the second night and decided to cut short our holiday. This companys properties should be taken off Vbro. Their behaviour is disgusting. I hope Vbro investigate this. The first one they cancelled they put back on the site for the week we booked for £150 more than we paid. Beware.

I booked this property 8 weeks in…

I booked this property 8 weeks in advance, but just 2 weeks before my stay, the company cancelled my booking, which left me struggling to find accommodation within budget. This was incredibly disappointing, as it was impossible to find anything suitable so close to Christmas. This meant I had to cancel my whole trip.

They did offer an alternative property, but it was nowhere near as nice and didn’t meet my needs at all (travelling with a newborn and dog).

The worst part of all was the communication. Every time I tried to reach out, I was met with responses from a virtual assistant who constantly got the details wrong and was completely unhelpful in resolving the issue.
