NL Times Reviews 3

I live in Netherlands and have been watching the development of nltimes.nl. It is a propaganda machine to push their agenda. I am not sure where they are getting their information from, but it is not accurate. They are using Google Tag Manager to track people and to push them content. They are stalking landlords, pushing fake content to scary them off. Some are being stalked to the bones, to make them go bankrupt and let shelter take the house. If you ever see this website, please be careful, clear your cookie and if you see news about real estate on your google news from them. report it to google as misleading website.

Used to love the access to English articles in Dutch. Recently it's been super overcrowded with full screen ads, ads that enlarge and take up half your screen... Still appreciate the access to news but I'd jump to another Dutch news outlet in English if there was a comparable one out there

I think it's interesting no one has yet written a review for DutchNews and NLTimes, the two main English language news sites in the Netherlands. They've both been around for a long time.

While NLTimes has a lot of 'fake news' or embedded advertising articles with paid for content, often not marked, I don't find it as annoying as DutchNews.

NLTimes is also a bit 'soulless'. It's just straight news, nearly all translated from Dutch language sources. There is almost nothing highlighting the expat community. The editor is clearly a native Dutch speaker, and occasionally makes grammar or spelling errors that only a non-native speaker could. There is no obvious way to contact the editor, and even his or her name is not published in an obvious way.

While I wouldn't call it 24/7, there is quite a lot published outside of business hours. This means there's no 'quiet period' during the weekends.
