Randomly fee, worthless reaction from customer service

The bike ride itself was good! We were with a group of 4, picked them up at a station and returned them at exactly the same station. I put it back in the lock and ended the ride. Then the next day I received a message that I got a fee because I returned the bike at a wrong place.. I contacted customer service that this could not be possible, because I returned it in a rack at exactly the same station as where I picked the bike up. They answered that I returned it at the wrong place. Apparently you have to make pictures to prove you put it in a official rack at the station, otherwise they can randomly give a fee of 20 euros. Very disappointing. Not going to use nextbike again, worthless how they treat customers.

Bike lock was broken

Bike lock was broken, couldn't physically return the bike and they charged me 20 quid for what should have been a 2 quid ride. Have tried to get in contact with customer service and they do not respond. Absolutely shocking service.

I have been with nextbike since they…

I have been with nextbike since they first came to Belfast. On the one hand its great to be able to hire a bike for a yearly subscription fee, but lately bikes are not releasing and I'm being charged for 24 hour rental for a 7 minute ride. I asked for a refund for a bike ride a few weeks ago where I was wrongfully charged ten pounds 24 hour hire fee when I had returned the bike. I phoned up about this and was told to write an email. I received an email today to tell me I wasn't getting my money back and in future to check the app every day. Excuse me? Ridiculous customer service. I wrote back to ask for the higher management to take a look at my complaint. I have never heard anything so disgusting for something that was their fault. I am waiting.

Money grabbing service

They have turned into a money grabbing scam. I was charged for a three hr rental as the lock was faulty. I tried calling them but got disconnected before speaking to an agent. Wrote them a message to which they replied with no relevance to my problem. Eventually I get told that it is my fault because I failed to notify them of the problem. I guess that to make up for the loss of revenue over the cold months, they set people up to pay exagerated charges.

The lock is not closing, and no one is available to answer your call.

4 days ago, I rented a bike as usual. But this time, the lock did not close after several attempts. I tried to call customer service, but no one was reachable. So, I filled out the contact form, but that didn’t work either, as today I ended up paying 62 euros. You say, 'Call us next time,' but I already called Nextbike and left two messages on the app. Terrible service – refund me, or I will take legal action.

I hope that Nextbike will contact me after this catastrophic communication. If they do, I can only speak English on the phone. I am also sending this message to your email address, and you can contact me there in any language.

Swansea City Centre, No Docking Stations

Beware do not cycle from Mumbles into Swansea Centre expecting to find a docking station, there isn't one. I had to pay £20 fine for improperly leaving the bike at the bus station! So much for green travel and linked services

Absolutely horrendous service

Absolutely horrendous service. Do not even bother wasting your time with this company. I have never experienced such a bad use of technology for a company that relies solely on it's application and sign up process. Ruined a planned day out twice now.

Intransparent costs and awful service

Please stay away from this horrible company. About every second bike cannot be released from the lock or cannot be returned because some part of the software is not working. It's extremely time costly and frustrating. Return points are not clear, communication is awful and intransparent. Wasted so much time trying to figure out how to run this service and still ended up being charged for a lot of additional costs.

They will charge you 20 Euro for no reason and say you returned the bike improperly even if you left the bike in the correct place. If ring customer service and try explain to them any issues you have they will not assist you what so ever. They are extremely rude and do not try to help.

Restguthaben nicht ausgezahlt

Wir hatten im Urlaub nextbike installiert und uns Fahrräder ausgeliehen. Nach dem Urlaub habe ich mein Konto gelöscht, um das Restguthaben zu bekommen. Ich habe einen Bestätigungsmail für das Löschen des Konto bekommen, in der auch stand, dass mein Restguthaben in ca. 2 Wochen ausgezahlt werde. Nach ca. 4 Wochen habe ich den Kundenservice angeschrieben. Eine Antwort habe ich nach Tagen bekommen, man können meinen Konto nicht finden. Warte noch bis heute auf die Auszahlung des Restguthabens.

Update: Heute bekam ich diese Email. Ein Wiederspruch zu der Email die ich beim Löschen des Konto's bekommen habe!

- I pay for the service but the app dos not allow me to scan the code , the instruction are not translated in other languages
- if i call the customer service since I have an italian prenumber I can only talk with the italian branch but the customer service is not giving any kind of solution couse they are in italy not in croatia - very smart !
- they are not answering to my request to be refounded

Simply doesn’t work

Simply doesn’t work. You get charged for using it after you use it and the customer service number does not work and no one replies to messages when reporting the issues. You just get charged. Eventually worked out cheaper to buy a second hand bike

Use your own bike, walk or get on a bus/taxi

I am referring to the Belfast branch:
1. The bikes most of the time won’t be released from the racks and you can waste significant time trying to sort this out with the customer service
2. On a couple of occasions i rented bikes with issues, such as: the chain was so loose that fell off. Or broken gears. The bike was like a fixed-gear one.
3. The application doesn’t reflect the reality when it comes to free spaces at a certain station. I once had to almost return back to where i rented the bike because all the stations, conveniently close to my place didn’t have a spare rack despite what was reported on their app.

Ridiculous fines and poor customer support

The bikes are good, but you need a lot of patience if you need to contact support. They do not seem to understand the issue, you have to keep repeating yourself. I parked the bike in a wrong place and was promissed the fine would be cancelled if I return the bike to the right parking spot. The very next morning the bike was already away, but I still got charged 20 EUR. Very poor customer service.

Got charged €20 for not returning bike…

Got charged €20 for not returning bike in correct location when I returned the bike exactly where I’ve returned and rented bikes in the past, then when I went onto my banking online €24.60 had been removed from my account 3 times, has been a week between emails and calls and still no sign of my money, not some much the money but more the way it is been dealt with, same rubbish everytime I go on the phone, disaster and a scam
