I’ve been a customer of Montepio for 17 years and I highly suggest you don’t waste your time and money with this bank. Every time I try to make an online purchase with my debit card, they block my account. I’ve been on the phone with them for 5 hours today and they blame SIBS that they blocked my card. SIBS told me today that it’s actually Montepio who blocked my payment and SIBS has no control over payments. This happens every time I use my debit card. I have plenty of money in my account but they don’t let me use my own money! I also have a credit card but it’s limited to 1500 and I’m trying to buy a new MacBook Pro that’s considerably more expensive. I’m tired of not being able to use my money as I want to. And don’t get me started on how bad their app APProva is. Absolutely ridiculous service.
I’m going to search for a better bank and preferably one that is not as ignorant as Montepio.
