2.5 months and no updates, and dragged feet on refund

I placed an order two and half months ago for an item that was quoted for a maximum 3 week delivery. It’s a common wireless lamp that you can buy from the shelves in design stores. It’s not a custom item.

I was first told the item would arrive within 8 weeks of my original date. I complained when notified as that is not what was advertised on Nest’s website.

That timeline has passed and it took me following up with the company to understand if there has been any update. There is no sight of the item, and they provided no details other than “don’t panic”. I asked for a refund twice, and was ignored in their response emails. It wasn’t until writing this public review that I saw a refund was processed.

Nest has taken my money without providing any service or items. This, by definition, is a sham operation.

Vitra Victory

As a self–described picky customer, standards are incredibly high when it comes to purchases. I recently took delivery of a Verner Panton chair that is actually immaculate in condition. A long time ago the client services team went above and beyond rectifying a quality control issue, which is why I had the confidence returning today for another order.

Phenomenal customer service, profits and interior design service…

The design service provided by Ashlee and her team at Nest was second to none. It was all virtual using photographs and email as I live too far away to visit the showroom.

I love design and interior design and wanted some support on some big decisions. It literally was a joyful and fun experience and led to great successes - from decisions on dining chairs, to sofas and rugs in my kitchen lounge area to deciding on side tables and storage solutions in my main lounge. The whole process was amazing.

All the items are of high quality and the delivery service is top notch (white glove) - they place the item exactly where you want it and remove all packaging. Couldn’t be easier. It saved me hours of hassle and trips to our local dump! Worth the price to me.

On top of all of this the team were so engaged, passionate, knowledgeable and responsive. Really a wonderful experience.

I wish they were local to me so I could meet them personally and say thank you.

With Ashlee’s help I have had the confidence and guidance to create the beautiful cosy home I was hoping for.

An exceptionally helpful company

Still waiting for refund and collection…

Still waiting for refund and collection — broken mirror left for over a week

I ordered a mirror from Nest, delivered on 24 October. The box looked fine at first, but once I removed the bubble wrap and inner packaging, a large crack became visible. The inner packaging itself was damaged, so the fault clearly happened before or during packing, not after delivery.

I reported this immediately with photos and asked for collection and a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Instead, I received a standard message saying “no damage at delivery” and no actual solution.

It’s now been over a week, and I still have a massive broken mirror taking up space in my home.

I’ve always liked Nest’s products and hoped for better after-sales support. I’ll be happy to update this review once the issue is resolved properl.

Misleading product descriptions

Nest.co.uk uses inaccurate images that misrepresent what they actually sell, in my case, a product advertised as ash with a visible woodgrain arrived smooth and peach-toned instead.

When challenged, customer service refused to acknowledge the clear difference or cover return costs, hiding behind generic “colour variation” excuses.

Buyers deserve honesty and accuracy, not misleading imagery and evasive support.

Great lighting at a great price

I bought a beautiful light fitting from Nest which was made to order. It took a little while as I expected, but well worth the wait. The communication around delivery was all good. Overall, I’m very happy with them, have bought from them in the past, and will again I’m sure.

Unable to fulfil order but good comms

Ordered a piece of furniture listed as made to order in approx. 3 weeks. After 10 weeks it finally arrived in the UK but was told it had a fault. Advised it would be a further 3 weeks to get a replacement so cancelled the order. Refund promptly processed without fuss.

Expensive returns even when they misrepresent items

Bought a rug that on their website (photo 1) clearly looks as a light blush colour. Upon arrival, I didn’t even open the plastic bag it came in because it is clearly a VERY different colour than the one in the picture (photos 2-3). The item delivered is a very light salmon colour. I understand slight colour variations are to be expected but this is major, and it falls under “misdescription”, which in their T&Cs should mean the cost to return should be borne by them. When I emailed them to request that, they gave me a non-answer that the problem was with the resolution on my device (I’ve looked at the photo in the screenshot in 4 different devices, it’s not my settings). AVOID! Many better brands at more reasonable price offer no hassle returns for all online purchases, this one won’t even if they’re in the wrong

Waiting over 6 weeks for an order that…

Waiting over 6 weeks for an order that says 2. Arrived today with all 3 shelves with damage to the corners, affecting the fit and paint finish. Would have to wait over 2 weeks, at least with no upfront offer to help resolve the issue.

Goods are quality checked before packaged and dispatched. Sometimes however, despite our best efforts and the sturdiest protection, damage in transit can still occur.

Lack of compromise and overpriced delivery

Needed to return 2x lampshades but admittedly was slightly over the 14 day return period. No room for manoeuvre/ compromise or even the possibility of a 50% refund/ voucher which is a shame. It’s very rare to find an online retailer which doesn’t offer a 30 day return policy (Ikea has 356 day policy). I could understand if they were reduced to clear but the items are still on sale at full price. To make matters worse, I was changed £10 delivery per item £20 total), even though they were shipped attached to each other in a fairly small parcel. Will shop elsewhere from now on…

As a small independent retailer, we do our best to be as flexible as possible. We currently offer a 14-day returns policy as per our terms. Of course, where possible, we are happy to be flexible, but unfortunately, this is not always an option.

While other retailers may offer 30 days or longer, we do not currently offer this service. We are reviewing this policy, and if we are able to adjust and extend it moving forward, we will, of course, do so. 
I am also sorry to hear of your disappointment in our shipping fees, these fees are calculated based on the sizes and weights of the items along with the method of transport required. Purchasing multiple items, you will see a discount applied to the shipping charge rather than the full shipping charge applied per item however as the weight and size of the order increases when adding items, the delivery charge will increase accordingly. We endeavour to provide the best prices possible every time, I can only apologise that the cost of this service was more than expected on this occasion.

We monitor our fees to ensure we remain as competitive as possible, these are updated accordingly when possible,
