DNA Results
I had this done in conjunction with the Children's Tumor Foundation, it gave me a lot of information, even about male things, I am a female. I did not see much about Neurofibromotis, which I have. But I am sure If I took it to a Dr. he/she would be able to help me read it and understand it better. I am glad I had this done.
Collecting the DNA was very simple.
The experience was quick and thorough…
The experience was quick and thorough and was eye opening with many areas for improving our health and lifestyle.
Paid for 100X sequencing, received nothing after 8 months
Perhaps I am one of the unlucky ones, but long story short I paid 900 dollars and received nothing after over 8 months of waiting and emailing up and down.
I have emailed up an down totaling over 20 emails over an 8 month period and have not yet received a response to the last email, which was 10 days ago, with little to no confidence I will ever be able to download my results.
Here is my step by step experience:
1. I ordered their product as part of their black Friday deal in November: 650 dollar for 100X sequencing and 250 dollar for the indefinite subscription.
2. I received their sample collection kit, used it and send it back. After one month, I had not heard from them and I enquired what happened. They indicated the sample was likely lost in the post and I should contact the postal office
3. The postal office indicated it was delivered
4. Nebula now indicated they had indeed received the sample and it was in the pipeline for processing in February
5. In May I received an email that my results where ready
6. When I logged in I was informed my subscription had expired and that I would not be able to look or download any results until I reactivate my subscription
7. I contacted customer support indicating I had already paid for a permanent subscription and they indicated that my subscription was somehow attached to an email address I had never seen or heard of before.
8. After emailing up and down for a while they removed the subscription of the random email address to my DNA and information.
9. I am now not able to activate a subscription to my own data (web page does not work) and I have no option of accessing my results.
I am under the impression they are now just ignoring my issue as they have no clue what is happening.
I don't think Nebula is pulling off a scam on purpose, but I am confident that their organization is a mess, as from the emails it is clear to me that they themselves don't really understand what is going on.
Judging from more similar experiences reported on Trustpilot, it looks to me as if 20% of the customers is the unlucky victim of their poor infrastrucutre.
To summarise, I think you are better off to have your whole genome sequencing done as this company:
1. is unreliable in delivering your results
2. is likely not secure (my data was probably accessible to some random person)
If you do still opt to have your sequencing done, I would opt for the 30X rather than the 100X sequencing as I have my doubts they can really deal with the magnitude of 100X data. Also most of the poor Nebula reviews on Trustpilot are on 100X sequencing.
To finish off, also note that they do not list any phone number you can call, nor do they respond to reviews on Trustpilot, indicating that their support is fairly limited.
don’t waste your time on the rest, just get the best, and cheapest
Your reports are the clearest and most extensive I’ve found.
I sequenced with 23 and me and I’ve used about eight gene report services, and none provided a 10th of the value of yours. It gave me highly relevant possible conditions I can actually go to the doctor with. You guys are the ones doing it right. I’m not easy to please. I didn’t get 7 analyzations done and tried another because I have money to waste, or because genetic data is my passion or anything, I just look obsessively until I’m happy. These guys made me happy, your money will be well spent. And the report is like $2.99 lmao it’s highway robbery
This was a very nice complement to the…
This was a very nice complement to the results from my 23andme test. Here you can see a lot more personal traits that are really accurate. There are also a lot of interesting reports such as fitness reports and viking reports that other sites dont have. I really love the streaks function aswell!
Alot of useful Information
I bought my test through 23 and Me and was left with questions. I did further searching and found Nebula Genomics. I quickly added my raw data from 23 and Me and got a much more detailed report. I'm very pleased, I wished I would have purchased my test through yall.
Uploaded my Ancestry DNA
I used my Ancestry raw DNA report and uploaded it to your site. Now I am not going to lie. I didn’t watch or read any instructions on how to understand what I was looking at because I was honestly just looking to see if I had a deletion in my chromosome 22 as my half brother just learned him and his children had the deletion. He was trying to figure out which parent it came from. So even though I didn’t truly get my answer and really need to read the information provided. What I did gather from it allowed me to be able to get an appointment with a genetic counselor which is extremely hard without having any major issues myself, as I have Medicaid. So I will be trying to make sense out of everything as my appointment isn’t until November. So I am extremely grateful for your company and allowing me to use results from another company on your site. I also used a second DNA testing company and I wouldn’t have found out anything without your site bc I can’t even get my raw results from the second company but I did get other information from them that was useful. So I would absolutely suggest someone who doesn’t have much information on a particular parent and their family to do both a medical DNA test as y’all offer for health purposes and one to like Ancestry to locate family members. Finding family is always good but one’s health is more important. So thanks again.
Purchased for genealogical purposes
I purchased primarily for genealogical purposes. The wait time for results was fairly long, but that was because I had to submit a second sample. They apparently no longer provide fastq files, but I have managed to use for the purposes I wanted. Transfer of data yo Yfull was very smooth. It would be nice if they provided a link that could be provided to for sharing the cram and crai files. Price was good, and customer service was always responsive so I am very satisfied. Although I didn't purchase for the reports I have found those to be of use.
Neurofibromatosis
I had mine Done for Children Neurofibromatosis Foundation.Nothing about my Neurofibromatosis is on this at all but all kids of stuff about Male Cancers is. Prostrate,Testicular,ECT. I have given birth 3 times. I have female organs. I am not a male THANKYOU. I am so mad. This is not right at all.
Did the 30x WGS
Did the 30x WGS. Great price and relatively responsive and good quality data when the sequencing was complete during the estimated timeline. No issues - can't beat for the price.
My opinion on Nebula
I'm in the sport field. I use the nebula reports to optimize my nutrition for sport performance and for health.
I love the nebula solution.
Nebula genomics is truly like no other
Nebula genomics is truly like no other. Not only do they provide incredibly detailed information regarding your genome, but importing my genomic data was also fairly straightforward. Additionally they provide sources to publications to further support the results of your genome. Pleasant experience.
Fantastic Experience
My experience was fantastic! Pretty much every day since I have got my results and read through every % weighting for each of the research papers, I have linked things I am experiencing with my results from Nebula. Super interesting experience going through it all and sharing it with my brothers. Highly recommend!
Informative and Interesting
Nebula Genomics is informative and interesting! The information is much more niche than you’d find on your typical DNA ancestry type site.
I bought the DNA kit with lifetime…
I bought the DNA kit with lifetime membership. Big mistake. Don't do this! I followed the sample directions to the nth degree. I mailed in the sample, knowing it could take up to 12 weeks. On week 12, still had not heard anything but wanted to change my mailing address since the old one is no longer valid. I emailed support as this is not something you can do yourself in your profile. They acted like I hadn't even sent a sample in. Once I said I did indeed send it in, they said they couldn't change my address because this was wayyyy back from last March. I said I never received anything! Then I had to dig for the Kit ID to validate everything since they couldn't validate me as their own customer on their end. They then said oh, your sample wasn't viable. Like you didn't know before the 11th hour, only when I contacted you about my address, that my sample wasn't viable? This is a fraud. They never contacted me once. I asked for a refund. They were going to transfer my email to someone else...I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint, and I contact paypal to dispute this, since I never received anything for my money, and they are lying and dishonest to their customers. today they said they are going to take on the dispute... good! That will be interesting. I will tell everyone I know about this company, as I think many people have been either scammed, or just disregarded. This is not the first time I have given DNA... so ridiculous. Save your money.
This was supposedly done in conjunction…
This was supposedly done in conjunction with the children's tumor Foundation and it didn't even bring up anything about my neurofibromatosis. It did say I had a 90% probability of prostate cancer which I don't have a prostate.
Trustworthy and accurate
This dna test gives more information than other companies tested, and give more in fepth information, which is included in the proce. No hidden fees! They are pretty accurate as to the results but are missing a few things id like to know, but so far none of the companies offer it for free with your test results. They are fast, efficient, and responsive!
Pay the price for quality
You get what you pay for. I wish that more was done in the way of genealogy, rather than a specific focus on genetics. I got my results in the projected turnaround time - now I'm just waiting for FTDNA integration.
Reviews are bought
They pay for reviews and trustpilot did not care even after I sent a screenshot of the bribe offer.
Fun?
You can upload external sequences which is nice and they unlock a few things for you to be able to read. Haven't bought a full test yet since I ask max 2 questions per email and can only get 1 answered (if that) at a time. Like what are all the surveys credits for? I did some testing (supplied items) what should I do to fill the gap?
