Critically acclaimed internationally…
Critically acclaimed internationally exhibited visionary photographer Camille Ross, the founder of Native Light Photography founded her photography studio Native Light Photography in 2010, which focuses on positive representations of marginalized communities especially Native American communities and African American communities in its portrayal and representation of empowered women with an emphasis on the awareness of the Epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Camille Ross uses her lens to shine a light on these communities who have been affected by violence as she reframes them using AI generated images culminating in incredibly powerful images of reclamation, empowerment, joy and abundance. She uses photography, her medium to both bring attention to underserved communities and our multiple generations of accomplishments and activism in overcoming racism in America even if now we may feel only its lack due to our current administration, but Camille reaches into the depths of history and in her own personal history where she shares myriad images of her ancestors migration from the Siberian Strait to an Alaskan Coastal Tribe then into Oklahoma where Camille’s great grandmother and all of her siblings and husband were once captured slaves until they were able to reclaim their land from the government as Cherokee owned land and property that belonged to her great grandfather. Camille shares her inspired work on this issue and how it relates to her work as a Native American artist. Her project Native Light is supported by Fractured Atlas. Her exhibition history, reviews and articles of her work and her many awards can be seen in this website and her her website supported by only one out of two scholarships for a Webby Award was recently designed as a result and offers visitors an even more expansive viewing experience. Please note that Camille had had to make three websites because her work continually is hacked by Holli Margell who unlawfully used Camille’s Federally Trademarked name Native Light Photography for over a decade infringing on Camille Ross’s intellectual property and copyright.
