Beyond Useless

After 11 months Tomato energy/My Watts have at last woken my in house smart meter which clearly shows 95%+ of my grid use is between midnight and 6a.m thanks to 8 solar panels and a 10.36kw battery. However they have continued to bill me based on their My Watts discredited metering system showing most grid use between late afternoon and early evening. They have also failed to engage with the Ombudsman who as as a result asked them to compensate me to the value of £100.

Not happy inaccurate readings

Everything started well when I started using MyWatts - then I notice my cheap rate from 1am-6 am was not recorded at the correct time it simply appeared the night previous . So my high energy use on cheap rate was charged at peak rate. As you can imagine I am not very happy. I have written several times to my energy provider so many times about the readings and how my 5 pence per kw is being charged at 23 pence . Be careful keep a watchful eye otherwise it could cost a fortune.

Saving cash - so far so good!

Four months after switching to Tomato Lifestyle all is going very well!
My switch, by "Smart Meter Capture", was total simplicity. Four days after clicking the button online I was switched from EonNext to Tomato. Meter readings (½ hourly), bills, DD (bill amount, not fixed or "prediction"), all happen like clockwork. I have had no phone or email contact with Tomato apart from auto-generated. This is how electricity supply should be, especially when it gives 5 hours @ 5p/kWh (cheaper than gas or oil), 4 hours at 14p and SC and default rate cheaper than the Jan-March 25 cap, fixed for a year with no exit fees. Literally cannot go wrong!
Switchers with bad experience of course leave negative reviews, so I give some (smug?) balance.
Why the stingy 4-stars? MyWatts platform and the website are both a bit flaky, but only niggles that in my case really don't effect functionality. And I have oodles of ½ hour consumption data to play with on a spreadsheet when I get round to it.
Thank you, Tomato.

My watts ..terrible customer service

Been a tomato customer for a month now and still no data showing. A real waste of time. Gone with IVIE now data showing within 48hours of installation.
I have contacted MyWatts several times with no response. Very poor customer service.

The swap to Tomato Energy took place in…

The swap to Tomato Energy took place in mid September. For weeks no data was showing on mywatts and I was told it's normal as the meter needs to get registered and takes time. 3 months on and the same excuse. Ridiculous interface. Awful customer services and unreliable company to provide a very simple task of showing data from a smart meter.

Still no data, 3 weeks after switching. Don’t respond to messages. Very little help or guidance on the website.

Terrible website

Terrible website - unusable on some devices. But worse, it presents usage charts showing FAKE DATA pretending that it is real data. Instead of just displaying "Sorry your usage data is not available" they try to hide that their meter integration isn't working by presenting FALSE charts showing completely MADE-UP usage and cost values. The only good thing about the service is that it comes 'free' through my energy provider.
