Very expensive and pretty pointless, use google
I'm from the UK, this is my first attempt at a vehicle check in Ireland, it costs a tenner in England and gives far superior information, apart from owner history and outstanding finance it didn't give me anything I couldn't have got with a google search in England, it told me the Vehicle didn't have an NCT......it's a motorcycle, doesn't need one, is the vehicle stolen? N/A... what does that mean? Not available? not applicable? estimated running costs...wildly inaccurate! I can do that research myself, mileage discrepancy? MyVehicle.ie suggests that the motorcycle should have done 159 thousand miles! I've been riding bikes for 40 years and more, I've never come across a bike that's done half that! very expensive and pointless frankly! don't bother!

We strive to provide the most comprehensive and most accurate data within our reports. MyVehicle.ie prides itself on having superior data in aspects that other providers do not have, which is recognised by 100% of all Insurance companies in Ireland as well as almost all vehicle assessors in the country, financial institutions, banking institutions, manufacturers and most members of the automotive trade in Ireland. MyVehicle.ie is now becoming increasingly an essential report to have amongst the public because of the information that we provide and as a result, dealers, traders and other members of the automotive industry in this country are now recognising the importance of these reports when compared to other providers in the industry.
The information that we supplied you with your vehicle history check also covered the following information:
Vehicle ID Numbers & Documentation which are vital when verifying the authenticity of the vehicle.
Vehicle Finance Check
Vehicle Status which disclose if the vehicle was ever written off, damage alert, taxi, change in engine number and colour.
Number of registered owners, owner category and the purchased date.
Auction Data.
Road Tax data which discloses expiry data, expiry history, road tax expiry date and road tax expiry history.
Vehicle Running Costs
Imported data on whether the vehicle was imported or not.
As you might appreciate, we do not create or make up the data and we are not its originators. As such, we have no control over the data, or lack thereof, connected with a particular vehicle. In this instance though, we are not sure what you mean when you say that "the service is expensive and pointless " as you have received all the data available that constitutes a history check report?
We compile reports based on data from many sources but in some instances the data can be limited. This is not any fault on behalf of the history check provider, as we can only show the data that is currently connected with a vehicle.May we again draw your attention to the information you received with your report which has all has a value and as such comes at a cost which received with your report
Regarding the points you raised:
NCT Information: We acknowledge the error in stating that the motorcycle did not have an NCT. Motorcycles are indeed exempt from the National Car Test (NCT) in Ireland. We are reviewing our data sources to ensure that vehicle type is accurately identified and that irrelevant checks are omitted for specific categories.
"Is the vehicle stolen? N/A": "N/A" in this context signifies there is no accessible stolen vehicle data recorded for this registration. This does not indicate that the vehicle was stolen, only that there is no digital record connected to the stolen database for this VRM.
Estimated Running Costs: We appreciate your feedback on the accuracy of our estimated running costs. These are generated based on general data and averages, and we recognise that they may not always reflect the specific circumstances of every vehicle. Thats why it is labeled Estimated running cost.

Absolutely atrocious customer service. I purchased a vehicle check based on their add. What I received was an estimate of Nox and Co2 valuations despite the advertisement saying they will tell give you the cost. When I approached them via email I got the usual reply you aggreed to terms and conditions. I could have got those estimates myself from the vrt website

In answer to your reply yes I choose your company for convenience on the understanding I would receive a comprehensive report, what I received was a basic report telling me the you couldn't give accurate co2 and NOx reading therfore you applied the maximum tariff, which is what I would have got from the VRT site myself
This is what you have on your website,just quoting yourself
"By entering in the registration number into the calculator, we can determine the vehicle’s Make, Model, Body Type and Variant as well as the date of first registration of origin State and its CO2 emissions.
Based on this information the calculator will return the Open Market Selling Price (OMSP) for VRT purposes and the amount of VRT payable."

We are sorry if you feel that you should have somehow received or expected more information but you opted for a basic VRT calculation which can only return a numerical result which was completed and sent to you.
Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) in Ireland for motor caravans (campervans) and certain commercial vehicles is simply calculated at 13.3% of the vehicle's Open Market Selling Price (OMSP).
This is quite a straightforward calculation and is based on the vehicle's estimated OMSP at the time of registration.
Given the simplicity of this calculation, the information provided in our report aligns with the standard VRT assessment for such vehicles.

I paid €34 for a report that gave false, misleading & inaccurate information. The mileage report contained one line from 2 years previous with false data. Customer care was hostile and their mantra was that I should have checked the report with them....this is non-sense, why would someone check a report that claims to be accurate !!! I will never use MyVehicle again.

We are sorry that you are dissatisfied with the data provided but as most of our customers, both trade and public realise, we do not create the record or make up the data and we are not its originators and can only compile reports based on pre-existing data from all across the entire automotive industry.
We also compile reports based on data from many other official sources and specifically for mileage data, these run into the hundreds of millions and so, it is virtually impossible for input errors not to appear on a mileage record.
These sources may sometimes contain discrepancies but these can only be resolved at the time of report generation and subsequent query and investigation and all data sources internationally are subject to the very same limitations.
As we have mentioned previously, MyVehicle.ie does not create this data but retrieves and presents it as it is provided to us. Mileage records, in particular, are dependent on the availability of submissions from these sources, and gaps or inconsistencies may occur when data has not been regularly recorded or updated.
The vast majority of purchasers of vehicle history understand that they can very easily raise an investigation on any data and where an update or an amendment can be made, this is facilitated.
We always recommend that customers review the information in their report carefully and contact us directly if they have any concerns or require clarification, as our friendly customer support team is available to assist with any queries.

For all our customers the following general information on mileage records may be helpful:
When you generate a history check report, it will check for all available data relating to particular vehicles' history, whether this data highlights a discrepancy or not.
There could be a number of reasons why a mileage reading causes a discrepancy. Sometimes there can be a kilometre/mileage issue, possibly even a typo at the point of record but this has to be determined through an investigation.
As with all history check providers both in Ireland and the UK and Internationally, mileage is not guaranteed. A database must return the full history and this data may very well contain information and data-sets that have previous errors made by trade parties outside the history check providers control.
We are not the originators of the record but reporting on the record and the history check provider is therefore not at any kind of fault for disclosing and highlighting discrepancies and any subsequent amendments after investigation.
When a report is generated, it is supposed to highlight anomalies. That is the very purpose of running a report. When an anomaly is identified, it can only, then, at that point be investigated in accordance with the policies that are outlined in our terms of service.
A report that has a discrepancy in mileage and is then investigated and later amended does not constitute in any way some kind of breach in policy, an error or in some way an oversight of a vehicle history check company.
The remit of a car history check provider is to compile a report from pre-existing data sourced from third parties within the motor trade. We do not create these readings, or make them up or create the error, if any, but disclose it in all its transparency. These are readings that pre-exist in a digitised record and it is the express purpose of a provider to highlight these discrepancies.

Wrong Registration report
I mistakenly entered the wrong registration number when ordering my car report and paid for it before noticing the error. Instead of paying for a second report, I decided to call customer support to see if they could help.
