Missing Digitised Senior Railcard
Digitised Senior Railcard went missing on my app which was attached through TrainPal onto an email I now cannot access. Despite various communications with them no solution was offered and I've lost 8 months of usage. Very disappointed with the outcome. Why do you get a personalised thank you when a customer gives you five stars, but if you give a one star you get fobbed off with a TrainPal email address which is the process most of us with a complaint have already gone through?

I really wouldn’t use TrainPal ….
Not just me then? Most defintly not impressed with service so far.
On my first journey booked via Train Pal my outward train was delayed - I got £3.45 back - lucky me- however the return train was cancelled plus all trains on that route that evening so I couldn’t get home - told was not eligible for refund on my advance ticket - not sure why… (now £13+ and cost of getting home down) 2nd journey - an email night before travel to tell me my train at 9 am was cancelled due to strike action and to buy an alternative ticket - I did - arrived at 9am - train not cancelled so travelled on original (return) ticket - refused a refund for the ticket they told me to but because it’s a seperate sale not related to strike action - EXCEPT IT IS..I’m now £70.00 out of pocket with each of the journeys I’ve made.
Sadly - I’m stuck with this company because I have 3 year railcard with them… appalling and I feel as tho I’m being scammed

Very happy with TrainPal
Very happy with the service I've had from TrainPal. I do a lot of travel by train and TrainPal has become my first choice for train tickets. It's not easy to define and it may just be little things where TrainPal is that bit better than it's competitors, but it's enough to sway me.

If I could give 0 stars i would. Had a planned trip away but suffered a medical emergency which meant I couldn't travel. I sent my ambulance discharge form as evidence for the refund and Trainpal had the audacity to accuse me of forging a "digitally altered" document to get out of paying the refund. As a previous regular user of this company, I will never use them again and the way they responded to my situation was disgusting.

Trainpal are great
Trainpal are great. They genuinely seem to have a focus on customer service and experience and finding the best deals.
I have had so many problems with UK train operators - cancellations, lateness, etc. and Trainpal are excellent at giving refunds and so on. They answer promptly and their access point (contact forms etc) are easy.

Refused a refund
Booked a ticket and paid extra for refund protection on this specific journey, knowing my plans might change. Went to cancel the ticket later on only to be told my ticket was not eligible for a refund. Just got the automated apologies for the inconvenience response

Non-existent customer service for THEIR mistake.
UPDATE - I have now been given a new way to complain by Trainpal after the email address I was orginally given garnered no response, and because I made a public complaint here. The new form asks for the query in detail but stops you typing after a couple of sentences so you can't explain what happened. This company is truly appalling for customer service. 17/7/26
This company is great when everything goes right, but they show their true colours as soon as there is a problem. I have screenshot proof that I'm due a refund due to THEIR error, but so far none of my 7 requests have had so much as an acknowledgement, let alone any action to rectify the issue. Next stop the ombudsman unfortunately - I can't afford to lose £50 to their incompetance.

Solid experience easy to use
Booking is very easy. Had to get a refund for a delayed train and although process was a bit clunky the money came through within a few days. I like it because it’s an Avios partner so spending with TrainPal earns me travel points/miney.
