Solar Panel Netting Unsafe
I had solar panels fitted on my roof in July by My Energy Solutions and I was very happy with the installation, however the ma;n that carried out the work commented to his workmate that the amount of bird netting was on the short side. l wasn't really sure what this meant' A few weeks later l' had my gutters cleaned and i was told that birds were sitting under the netting''{ phoned My Energy Solutions and they said they would arrange for someone to come out and look at the problem. Since then l have phoned on numerous occasions and am always told the same thing, and during some heavy wind a fortnight ago l found a piece of the guarding which is covered in spikes in my garden' l was just thankful that it was on the back of my house and not at the front which overlooks the road. I am still waiting now.I might just add that l am 89 and depend on getting a good job done.
Excellent
Excellent company to deal with from start to finish. Great price. Great installation team who worked in some horrendous weather conditions. Great aftercare who have been very supportive and explained everything to me. Would recommend this company 100%.
Communication was great installation…
Communication was great installation was on schedule and done efficiently. Installation crew were polite and informative, price of system was reasonable, would recommend this company
MyEnergy solutions installed my Solar…
MyEnergy solutions installed my Solar Panels at the agreed time and the installers were respectful and efficient. Following the install i was contacted by MyEnergy solutions to take me through the web portal, I was at work at the time so could not set up the portal until the next day. They assisted me in setting up the online account and I now have access. I paid the pre installation and final payment on time and everything is working.
The reason for the 3 stars is the aftercare. The installers left all there boxes at the back of my house and as the scaffolding covered my whole driveway I had't noticed for a few days. By which time the boxes were wet through. I was told by MyEnergy i had to remove them myself. The scaffolders didn't turn up on the agreed day to remove the scaffolding and left a reel of wire and other items behind just thrown on my drive. There is no response to texts or calls when I contact them with queries. For example the batteries were only charging to 20% and I have asked some questions but have received no reply.
Absolutley Superb from start to finish!
Absolutley Superb from start to finish, Super proffesional in every aspect, and great after sales team too... to top it off the system is absolutley great and is already saving me money even in the winter! A1
Solar/battery install 11kw
Solar/battery install 11kw system slight delay on battery delivery as expected. Only 1 issue since install and that was inverter fault, rectified online.
System works well with octopus highly recommend both, saved me easily over a £1000 so far. System fitted April 2022.
Fantastic company
Fantastic company. Excellent all round from installation to aftercare. Local company which suited me. I’m very happy with the software which combines with my electric car software. Would definitely recommend.
Friendly service
Good communication from start to finish,
Helpful and friendly staff.
This was the second installation carried out by MyEnergy solutions.
Would recommend to anyone.
Excellent first impression, but don't expect quick resolutions to any issues.
Had been researching solar and batteries for a good 7-8 months and had messaged various companies. MyEnergy solutions came back with different proposals for my needs and in the end I went with them.
Started consultation in Sept, survey completed mid Sept and install planned for mid October.
Scaffolders arrived day before and erected the scaffold. Next day a courteous team of 3 arrived and completed the full install (inc ev charger) by the end of the day.
Quick run through of the system and charger and they completed. Error on my behalf as I didn't read all the small print: they leave the boxes, etc for you to dispose of.
From initial communication to the post install follow up has been nothing short of excellent. Rebecca following up to see if we were happy with the install and the next steps.
Even in this week and the lousy weather I have generated almost 30kwh worth of electricity form my 4.5kw system.
Looking forwards to when I can get some decent sunshine to see how the system really performs
*Update*
Nothing wrong with the system, but have had issues with the bird netting and now have pigeons underneath the panels. Have given them almost 8 months to resolve, but emails replies are almost non-existent and always the same answer.
Customer service post install appears to be non-existent.
Further update.
Now 18 months post install, still no contact back from them, even when filling in the webform and being told someone would contact me. That was 3 weeks ago.
Engaging, accommodating, professional and overall great value.
April 2023.
I approached a number of companies to quote for a PV & ESS installation at my domestic property. With a background in electrical engineer & electronics, I fully understood the art of the possible & my requirements when sending a RFP to around 8 installers. Most installers were dismissed at the first gate; either they were not interested in working with me to install a system to my design or their sales folk were highly unprofessional. I required:
1) maximise the solar PV capacity on the roof.
2) minimum of 10kWh ESS DC coupled battery
3) a 5kW hybrid inverter
4) G99 Fast Track certification for 3.68kW capped export.
5) Critical house circuits connected to the UPS output of the inverter so the property remains powered in the event of grid failure.
6) Full Class 1 configuration of the UPS output.
Thankfully My Energy Solutions (MES) were one of the best engagements I received. I spoke at length with their Operations and Technical Directors to discuss my requirements and in all instances they were engaging and helpful. We settled on a design which was ratified by Sunsynk and an order was placed. MES even completed the G99 Fast Track application at no extra cost before an order had been placed which expedited the process considerably. National Grid turned the application around in less than 2 weeks.
In order to add a 10th panel to the roof, MES Operations Manager arranged for the scaffold to be erected a few days earlier to allow my roofing team to remove a protruding soil stack vent and carry out some minor roof repairs. This saved me around £600 in a second set of scaffolding alone.
The day of the installation went fairly well. The team (a 3rd part subcontract) turned up on time and I explained the plan to them along with the electrical schematics. They set about the installation of the roof mounts and were generally neat and tidy. A few tiles were broken in the process but all were replaced without fuss and the roof was left satisfactory.
The electrical installation work the gable end of my loft commenced and unfortunately this is where the quality of workmanship took turn for the worse. Their choice of layout of equipment on the wall meant they left no space for the batteries and the wiring of the bypass isolator was incorrect. They spent an hour or so finishing off and left the installation partially working. I acknowledge that my installation was slightly more complex than most domestic installations, but nevertheless so basic errors were made. It was a shame as the lads were very polite & accommodating but clearly were out of their depth in some areas.
After a conversation with MES, a plan was put together to finish the installation and address a number of quality issued I'd discovered after the installation team had left. I provided detailed feedback which their Operations Director took on board and promised to address internally (primarily that their installation teams had spoiled the otherwise perfect engagement up to now).
After a number of return visits, the installation was completed to my satisfaction and according to the manufacturers specifications & BS7671 regulations.
There was one element that did not work properly (island mode earth-neutral signalling for the UPS output), and after numerous escalation to SunSynk support it was discovered that the manufactures documentation was incorrect. This did cause some significant wasted time and frustrations on my part as I had to prove to the manufacturer that they had made a mistake. This was by no means MES' problem and likely caused them as much frustration too.
Post installation, their Operations Manager worked with me, the DNO and Billing company to set up SEG payments for export and continued to support me with software updates and ad-hoc operational questions.
Overall, the engagement was very pleasing, and was mainly let down by their 3rd parties being incompetent or lazy; something MES acknowledged they are addressing. There was only one other company that I considered comparable to MES, but even then they scored 85% vs MES' score of 95% for sales engagement process. The next best was a disappointing 50%.
It's now been 6 months since my installation and my 4.2kWp array has produced over 3.2MWh of energy and already saved me over c.£1000 in equivalent electricity bills. The UPS output works well in keeping critical circuits working (lights, sockets, boiler, internet etc) in the event of a grid power cut.
Would I use MES again? Yes*, plus I have recommended them to a number of other friends too.
*as with any contract, it pays to do your own research first and get plenty of like for like quotes.
We are very satisfied with the system
We are very satisfied with the system. There were no high-pressure sales techniques, but plenty of information and discussion of our needs. The installation was carried out in a friendly and efficient manner apart from a problem with the scaffolding contractors, which was dealt with and we were kept informed. The admin department were very efficient and helpful with the paperwork and setting up the app and we know we can rely on them when needed.
Would definately recommend.Know what they are doing.
Would definately recommend.Everyone involved knew exactly what to do.Very impressed that MyEnergySoloutions knew exactly how to manage the connections process with the local DNO,so as to be compliant with regulations & enable speedy access onto an Export tariff with my Supplier.

Extremely impressed
MyEnergy Solutions came highly recommended by a family friend. I discussed our home life etc/energy usage & we were sent a plan of the array we would require. A surveyor visited within a couple of days, not long after the panels, inverter & batteries were installed.
Extremely impressed with the service provided, all relevant paperwork managed by the company on our behalf, Rebecca was outstandingly helpful & informative at every step.
At no point did I feel pressured or any hard sell tactics which I was afraid of before this company was recommended to us.
