MyDocBill says they "don't use hyphens" so my insurance won't pay their claim.
MyDocBill has sent my bill to collections even though it was their inaccuracy that caused my health insurance to "deny" the claim they tried to file. My insurance company, BCBS, spells my last name with a hyphen. There is a hyphen on my insurance card, and both BCBS and I have repeatedly drawn MDB’s attention to the need to include the hyphen when submitting a claim to BCBS, as evidenced by my emails & phone calls with MDB, plus digital correspondence between BCBS and MDB. However, when I called MDB today, and I asked the customer service representative, Delana, whether MDB had actually ever submitted the claim to BCBS with the hyphen included, she was not sure. She put me on hold so that she could ask her supervisor. When she returned to the call, Delana told me that her supervisor told her, “We don’t use hyphens,” suggesting that none of MDB’s attempts to submit a claim to BCBS have spelled my name correctly. In total, she says they made seven attempts to file a claim with BCBS, and BCBS denied all of them. BCBS says they would have been happy to pay the claim if MDB had just submitted it correctly! But now here I am, being hounded by a collection agency for a bill that MDB screwed up because it cannot be bothered to use hyphens.

For months I have talked to reps and contacted Medicare for a bill for a flu shot which is covered. Mydocbill has not filed the claim correctly, according to Medicare. Two of your reps have assured me it would be fixed and that I have no balance. NOT TRUE. Still getting bills. You have only submitted “administration” of the flu shot and not for the actual vaccine. Medicare needs both.
Received invoice on Apr 19, 2023 for services already paid for
Received an invoice on Apr 19, 2023 from mydocbill.com for $503 for services performed in Oct. 2021. The doctor had already invoiced my medicare advantage insurance provider in Oct. 2021, and the insurance provider fully paid all plan approved amounts in Oct. 2021, and the insurance provider indicated I owed no additional costs. The patient portal for my doctors office shows I do not owe any money. Is mydocbill.com sending me this now, 20 months after the doctor visit, hoping I forgot the visit was already paid for? I am contacting the insurance provide I used at the time of service, and the doctor's office about this.
04May2023 update: After contacting mydocbill.com, they confirmed this invoice was a mistake, and they should not have sent it. My account was zeroed out.
Can they even read an EOB?
They have been billing me for 2 years for services that Blue Cross/Blue Shield determined on their EOB that I do not owe. In fact Blue Cross told me they actually received the payment, it was not even a write-off. I have sent letter after letter, copies of my insurance cards and included a BC/BS 1-800# to call to resolve. I am tired of doctors offices billing patients for things that are supposed to be a write-off. It is wide-spread. Corruption is the best description. I finally got BC/BS to call them, that fixed the scam.
I have proof from my insurance company they're scamming
Hello I just recently received a bill from Mydocbill on March 9, 2023 saying I owe Naperville Radiologist SC here in Illinois $303 from my stay at Edward Elmhurst hospital in Naperville Illinois on October 12,2022 and October 13,2022. At the time my insurance was tricare overseas so that's where they was submitting it. Well they double charged my insurance so obviously tricare was going to deny the duplicate charge but on Mydocbill it says I couldn't be identified as the one insured. I log into my patient portal and have my explanation of benefits showing I don't owe them and even pictures from my patient portal showing the dates and check numbers of the checks they received and cashed. I don't think I can upload them here but if it's wanted I can provide.

I looked them up and read all sorts of posts of them being scammer. Their approach to me had been sketchy in the first place, so I was nervous about them. As I had multiple bills coming in for a hospitalization, I concluded they were able to access hospital or doctor records and start scamming. It turns out it was a legitimate bill. I had to jump through all sorts of hoops, think it is off my credit report (?), but now the same provider (Radia) has me with Evergreen Professional Services over a mere $150 bill, that was late, but I paid just as they sent it over to Evergreen. Now months later I am still trying to coordinate with Radia & Evergreen that the bill has been paid. I have no time in my life for all of this. I just wonder how people who have to deal with this ongoing can survive, find time to follow up with all of the mess & lack of communication amongst providers and their debt collectors?

Why does mydocbill exist
Why does mydocbill exist? Is it some kind of a scam? I’m on Medicaid and they handle my doctor bills. Screw these damn scammers.
Treats to be referred to a collection agency
They send out statements every two months. Claim they have submitted claims to Ins. since February 2022 when Ins. has never recieved anything from them at all!!! Tried to access my account online and this website do not even recognize the account number I got from the statement they sent to me. Now I am receiving threats that I will be referred to a collection agency. This is a bad joke!!!
How can medical entities still use MyDocBill serice? How is it possible?!
How is it possible?!I was trying to resolve this issue - we were overbilled and without a notice the account was referred to a collection agency? Is this the level of customer service that MyDocBill is providing for Quest Diagnostic?
We will pay the corrected amount that we did not receive any communication from you! How are we supposed to know it was corrected? A simple email would have been so simple to send.
We are 4 family members and we never had an issue until this overbilling. We will make sure to avoid your services and let as many people as we can know about the way we were treated by the Company, if this issue is not resolved and the account is retrieved from collection. We will also reach to Quest Diagnostic to make them aware of your level of customer service.
They send out statements once every 6 - 7 months. Claim they have submitted claims to Ins. when Ins. has never recieved anything fro m them at all!!!
This sight is a joke.
terrible user experience
I've had multiple bad experiences with Mydocbill. Last year, I was set up on a payment plan; first 2 payments went through fine, then all of a sudden they stopped withdrawing payments and no one could tell me why. They kept telling me the withdrawals would automatically start up again, but that didn't happen. Meanwhile, they're sending threatening letters about my account going to collections. After hours and hours on the phone I was finally able to get the last 2 payments taken care of. Everything seemed fine, no more bills. Fast forward 7 months and I have a new charge from a lab. When I logged in to pay, somehow a super-old charge is showing up, which was paid off. When I called, they agreed the old charge was bogus. They said to just pay the recent amount due, and that will "update" my account, erasing the old charges that never closed out. But there's no way to make a partial payment online. There's supposed to be a way to do it on the phone, but I'm hesitant to enter in my credit card info first, before confirming that I only need to pay off the current recent charges. It's ridiculous. I honestly never ever want to go to any Dr/lab that uses this billing system.
Had a scan done
Had a scan done. Bill was sent three months later from mydocbill.com. They were threatening collections at that time. Sent in the payment stub with my check a few days later. The check was cashed six days after it was sent. I checked their website after that, and the bill was still marked as unpaid. I called and talked to a representative who said they would look into it , give them a few days. Looked at the website a few days later and the amount was zero, but the next day I got a letter from a collection agency. I contacted mydocbill online and all I got from them was " we sent you to collections ,go talk to them". I have reported their parent company Zotec to the BBB. And am now dealing with the collection agency.
Let's talk about mydocbill/quest
Let's talk about mydocbill/quest. You have them set up a payment plan but pay off early, they continue to take money out of your bank account for a ZERO balance. I call to get money refunded. 3 weeks down the road guess who still has no refund . I am sorry mydocbill/quest ya'll need to get a clue money is hard to come by and taken money on a ZERO balance is not legit or legal I don't care what your call center says!! You will never get a payment plan set up with me again. I will pay on my own payment plan! If I do not receive my money in another 3 weeks as agent said today July 20th 2022 I will be filing this debit you now owe me with an attorney for collection from mydocbill/quest....as you would do to me if I didn't pay you! I am not a happy person since quest labs went with this program for payments. QUEST LABS go back to the other program at least it didn't take money from customers with ZERO balance.
Beware of MyDocBill.com Scam
Just Received a text message from 866-336-1881 stating "For your convenience, Quest Diagnostics is contacting you with the mobile phone number you provided so you can review your account and pay your bill online." I looked at the service date and I was out of the country on that date. I managed to access the statement on their website and called customer service but had to listen to ads. Seriously!
