I strongly advise against using this "no win, no fee" claims company. They appear to exploit tenants in deposit protection disputes for their own profit. Our experience revealed a focus on volume over individual cases, often using recycled claim forms.
In a £650 deposit claim, the landlord was ordered to pay thousands. However, the company retained 95% of the compensation, leaving us with a minimal amount. Crucially, they had us sign an agreement upfront that locked us into paying them a significant sum.
Be aware: The law is clear on this. If a landlord fails to protect your deposit, you can claim the penalty directly from them without a middleman. This ensures you receive the full compensation, rather than becoming a source of income for this opportunistic firm.
My deposit hero is an absolute scam
My deposit hero is an absolute scam. First of all they state that they are a no win no fee. For example if the deposit you gave was like 2000 they would keep 600 almost. At first i thought it was fine because I was king for justice but they sent a long agreement with lawyer fees and court fees and and a lot of stuff that can never be cheap and I had to agree which I didn’t because I wasn’t in the mood to be scammed twice. Now they keep spamming me even after I said I wanted no part of the claim. I had to report it as spam. When money was involved they replied so quickly after i asked to be left alone they kept stalking me electronically and spamming the mozzarella out of my phone. Deposit hero, i have no money leave me alone. Please everyone do not reach out to them.

Awful people
Awful people. Forwarded my new address to old landlord like they told me they wouldn’t. Then had lots more problems. They then decided it wasn’t worth their time to take him to court anyway and let me know via email. Massive waste of time that cost me more money. They have since deleted their reviews section on Google so you can’t see how bad they are. Avoid at all costs
Terrible service
Terrible service. They will basically never get back to you if you have a question and they don't have a straight answer. Probably not real lawyers

Started the process in June
Started the process in June, and still waiting for the lawyers to come back to us! We have had to constantly chase them asking for updates.
Simply 0 zero customer service.
It is just a fast cash machine, as soon as I gets a bit complex they just drop you.

After almost two months of signing with them, I send several emails about update of our claim and I only get is ignorance.
Shame as this is not what we expected from them.

Very good at communicating until we signed up with them, then didn't reply to emails, what's apps or calls for weeks.
I would not recommend them.

Do not use - no care for clients, no attention to detail.
I just got an email from Deposit Hero to leave a Trust pilot review, after they know that I was not happy with their service (they barely kept track of anything to do with my case) so here I am. I didn't end up using them, because they took ages to respond to every query, there were incorrect details about my claim in the documents they wanted to sign, and my communications to them showed me they were never paying attention to any of the details. I assume they just want to make quick, easy money, and don't care about their potential clients. I do not recommend.

Very good for now
I have approached them and they have been professional and confirmed what I have thought.
The legal team is ready to proceed with the claim but, until I will be tenant in this flat, I will hold off. So, for now I am happy let's see once I will go to court with them
They are great
They are great. My claim was settled so quickly. And I received the cheque with 3 weeks. I recommend them to everyone.
