I had a towbar fitted and purchased a Thule VeloCompact 927 bike rack from Murray Towbars in Cork a few years ago, with the total cost coming to €1,150. I could have bought the same bike rack online at a much cheaper price, but I chose to support a local business based on their promise of reliable after-sales support. That support is now nowhere to be found — when the rack recently stopped attaching properly and needed parts replaced, my wife was told they were too busy to help. Extremely disappointing and completely contrary to what was promised. I would not recommend buying from them if you’re expecting any meaningful backup service.
