Privacy, But Make It Stylish

If you're after a VPN service that both protects your online privacy and makes you feel like you're in some sort of espionage thriller, then Mullvad is your go-to. With a name that sounds like it’s straight out of a Swedish spy novel (which, incidentally, is where it’s from), Mullvad doesn’t just give you anonymity – it gives you the illusion of being far too cool for the internet.

Setting it up? A breeze. No need to remember anything complicated like usernames or passwords – just a mysterious code, which makes you feel like a secret agent every time you log in. Seriously, if you ever wanted to be James Bond, but without the tuxedo and more “untraceable browsing,” Mullvad’s got you.

Performance? Faster than your grandmother’s Wi-Fi can handle, which is an achievement in itself. And if you’re worried about getting tracked, fear not. Mullvad’s privacy policy is so stringent, they probably have a team of squirrels running around with encrypted hard drives in the forest.

In conclusion, Mullvad is like the James Bond of VPNs – smooth, secretive, and definitely not telling anyone your business. It’s a no-nonsense, no-frills way to browse the internet safely and look effortlessly cool while doing it.

Best VPN ever, no issues, great service!

I am using Mullvad for a long time and I must say it is one of the best VPN services I ever used. I don’t have any problems with connection, speed is also good. They are very privacy oriented, no logs, nothing. I can access everything I need without issues. It is very easy to use and the support is good if you need help. Highly recommend!

Great experience with Mullvad

I’ve been using Mullvad VPN for a few months now, and I have to say, I’m really impressed! It’s super easy to set up and use, and the speeds are great, no noticeable lag or slowdowns, even with streaming. The privacy features are top-notch, and I love how they’re transparent about everything. No personal info required to create an account, which is huge for me.

What really stands out is their no-logs policy, which gives me peace of mind knowing my data isn’t being stored or sold. I’ve had zero issues with connection reliability, and customer support has been helpful when I needed it. Overall, Mullvad feels like a solid, trustworthy VPN. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, secure VPN!

Best VPN for Privacy

I’ve been using Mullvad for a year now, after switching from a more expensive competitor, and it’s honestly way better than I expected. The speed is top-notch, the killswitch is super reliable, and support is fast if you need them. You can really tell they care about privacy. It’s not the best for things like streaming since there aren’t a ton of IP addresses, but if privacy is your #1 concern, Mullvad is definitely the way to go.

Here's basically what to expect

Without a google account, most of the time you would be blocked on youtube and r*ddit the latter being a blessing in disguise. Generally a miserable experience. However, I noticed pretty recently without a vpn in my area youtube has been extremely slow and unresponsive this vpn resolved said issue and allowed me to watch youtube videos without buffer (even with the DAITA feature and other features that adds to traffic.)

if you have a similar experience/issue on youtube This vpn may fix that.

For linux nerds:
from my extremely short and limited testing, the vpn app wasn't really working but doing a wireguard config, it worked perfectly on linux. I was able to set up a disposable virtual machine with the network routed through the mullvad vpn. You are able to set this up with whonix if you wish to pair this with tor.

Do they even offer support

Do they even offer support
While for the most part it's okay and honestly they are one of very few that I might to some degree trust their no logging claims I at least haven't seen any proof that this is a total lie that being said I still question how they get around mandatory data logging requirements in a number of countries or how they deal with gag order requests from Countries in the 5 eyes however that's a separate issue let's just say I don't think any VPN is truly trustworthy

However when this go wrong there's no easy way to contact support and unfortunately things will go wrong however you're one your own as there's absolutely no way to connect support and if you do manage to find the email address for support you will likely be waiting weeks for a response if they ever respond
As much as I hate saying this as the service is okay without support I can't recommend them

Great privacy VPN service

Great VPN service, with what I perceive as the best possible anonymity.
The WireGuard setup was quite simple (I used the IPhone .conf file) and works well on Ubiquiti Unifi Dream Machine SE; not needing to extract keys and configurations from installed bespoke clients.
The WireGuard throughput is excellent and combining in Mullvad open DNS with various options for filtering; provides excellent privacy.

Finally, a VPN That Puts Privacy First – and Actually Delivers

I've been using Mullvad for several months now, and it's hands down the most honest and well-executed VPN I've tried.

✅ No Account, No Email, No Nonsense – Signing up was refreshingly simple. You just get a randomly generated account number—no email, no name, no tracking. That’s real privacy.

⚡ Fast, Stable Connections – Whether I’m using WireGuard or OpenVPN, connections are consistently fast and reliable. No random drops, no headaches.

🛠️ Clean, Functional Apps – The desktop and mobile apps are lightweight, intuitive, and just work. No bloat, no gimmicks—just a clean interface that does what it promises.

🔐 Strong Security and Modern Features – Mullvad offers features I didn’t even know I wanted, like multihop, DNS over HTTPS, and even quantum-resistant tunnels. Everything is well documented and clearly built by people who know what they’re doing.

💬 Transparent and Responsive – Their support team is fast, professional, and clear. On top of that, their software is open source, and they regularly commission independent security audits. That kind of transparency is rare.

💸 Simple, Honest Pricing – One flat rate: €5 per month. No plans, no upsells, no fake discounts. Just a fair price for a solid product.

If you're looking for a VPN that prioritizes privacy, security, and simplicity without the usual BS, Mullvad is absolutely worth it. This is how a privacy tool should be built.

The VPN desktop app on Linux is… trash

The VPN desktop app on Linux is literally unusable. Javascript I/O error prevents it from even starting. Mullvad team could give two shits. Too bad. I've used it for years but I'm not down with paying for a broken product.

MULLVAD VPN REVIEW

I've used several vpn, socks, rdp. You guys are cool. The price, pricing duration, options of lots of countries and different IP addresses within each country, 5 users per account so all my gadgets are connected. I use a mac, windows, android, iphone 😁.

Plus, this is just a basic vpn, for high level privacy - its best to use proxy or socks. So for the price & perks, basically this vpn is fair.

However, this review is to simply state some necessary things this vpn lacks (ignore any typo. I tried to explain using simple words):

1. Some of the IP under some countries have already been blacklisted. (how? running an ip blacklist check after connecting to vpn). Now, there's no way to report blacklisted ip on the vpn so it can be taken off the list. So now anytime I connect to a location(ip) on the vpn, I have to do a blacklist check.
Not good if you get my drift. ✌🏼

2. In the vpn app, there is an option for multihop - this is good. However, if number 1 above is not resolved, it is not advisable to set multihop as you might move from a non-blacklist ip to a blacklisted ip. Vice versa 😁

3. You should be careful when you change the settings on the app, as this might make the mullvad vpn slow to connect. If you are having trouble connecting, here's a few solutions -

*Unselect DAITA
* Unselect Multihop - due to the issue stated in number 1 and 2, I wont advise you to select multihop
*Unselect Local network Sharing (except you know it and need it)
*Unselect Enable IPv6 (except you know it and need it)
*Tunnel protocol - set to automatic
* Unselect Lockdown mode (except you know it and need it)

*Kill switch settings might be tricky, you need it so its a 'must you select it' but try to understand it. As it blocks your internet when you have a network data glitch (network data turns off) and then it (mullvadvpn) might not connect back when your network data is back on, so then you have to go back to the mullvad vpn app and connect manually.
Tricky if you get my drift. ✌🏼

*other settings not written, set to your choice.

Think that's the main things I think of, interface is cool. Thanks for reading.

PS: To mullvad vpn: In the case of any future changes to what is written here, I'll re-edit review.

3 Weeks

3 Weeks

Dear Mullvad Support,

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the handling of my recent subscription issues.

I was charged twice for a yearly subscription, neither of which resulted in a working activation. To troubleshoot the issue, I also purchased a 1-month subscription, which was activated without problems. My intention was to keep one valid yearly subscription and receive a refund for the other two transactions that did not result in a service being provided.

You initially responded saying the matter would be looked into, but it has now been over 3 weeks without any resolution. I have followed up multiple times, but my emails continue to go unanswered.

This lack of communication is unacceptable for any service—especially one that prides itself on privacy and user rights. I expect an immediate resolution to this issue. If I do not hear back within 72 hours, I will proceed with a dispute via my bank and consider filing a formal complaint with the Swedish Consumer Agency.

Setup can be tricky with Windows 11

Ease of setup - although using OpenVPN by itself did not work (I had to enable Wireguard).
Inexpensive AND they do NOT record incoming IP addresses
Although they quote a monthly rate, you can send an amount equivalent to One Day - which will allow protected internet access for 24 hours.
I have a Blockchain / Bitcoin account which lets me activate my account anonymously.
I don't trust any other VPN because all of them record your incoming IP address and thus you can be discovered easily. As I only use a VPN on certain occasions, I can activate my account for a short period of time when needed - no subscription required. I last used Mullvad 8 years ago but now have renewed interest in a VPN - so went back to 'old faithful'. It seems one Must run OpenVPN as well as enabling Wireguard for Windows 11 to work properly.

👎 Disappointed by DNS filtering on iOS and Chrome

As an iPhone user, I chose Mullvad for its strong commitment to privacy. Unfortunately, the DNS filtering allows access to many gambling sites that are clearly listed in their official blocklists. This issue has been ongoing for weeks, despite communication with support.

No fix has been provided so far. I had to give up on Mullvad and switch to other solutions to block the affected sites.

This VPN not the best

This VPN is decent, but I had some issues with it. Some servers stayed red and were out of service for a long time. I stayed with Mullvad for a few months, but when I contacted customer support I was completely ignored. So I just left because some servers were out and customer support ignoring me. I'm not going to be treated like this.

Great Service

I've been using Mullvad for over two years and am very satisfied. It works flawlessly with Linux Mint, Mullvad doesn't log and the servers are very fast. I highly recommend this VPN service and will stick with it.
