We are a Sail Training organization with a Christian foundation. We function rather like Church Schools. We are inclusive and open to everyone and try not to impose our faith on others though we are available to discuss if people want to. Our Staff are Christians whose vocation is to serve by enabling young people to go to sea. We have an under 26 bursary scheme which means that nobody should be excluded from joining a voyage due to lack of funding. Going to sea is a life changing experience during which participants learn to cook, to keep a boat clean, tidy and safe, to live for a short while in close proximity to others working as a team. They also learn how to sail, steer and navigate a yacht offshore. Some have called it a 'peak experience' having exhilarating sailing and seeing the wonders of the created world. We see vast numbers of sea birds, dolphins, porpoises, seals and sometimes whales. Many people return for multiple voyages, and some become volunteers themselves having completed an RYA Day Skipper course and we take them right on to Yacht Master and some become instructors.

Really poor service and no communication.
My child was supposed to sail with the Trust in the spring, which was cancelled at very short notice due to some sort of mechanical fault. Hugely inconvenient, but we were happy to move things around and rebook for later in the summer.
Again, with about 48 hours notice the trip was cancelled, this time due to a lack of staff.
They obviously don't know what they're doing, but are very happy to take your money!

Dear Jayne, We are really sorry that you feel you had such bad service for which we give our unreserved apologies. We have had a tough season having to withdraw one of our vessels from service due to a safety issue. As we found ourselves in dispute with a supplier this yacht was out of commission for most of the season. We have not cancelled any trips due to a lack of staff this year. However, with a reduced fleet, we did have two vessels stuck in Milford Haven for a week, due to extreme weather, when they were supposed to be in Northney. If you would like to contact our new CEO bookings@mst.org.uk we will try to ensure that your child has an opportunity to go to sea in 2023.

Great attitude and equipment

A great charity that really takes care of its yachts, and has experienced skippers that take a very positive and supportive approach to sail training and learning on the sea.
