Anthony did a really great job with our porch railing. Will use again for another project this year.

Paid $200 for an estimate, that I never received!
I had just bought a new house. I wanted a kitched cabinet removed, and a Dishwasher installed. I had them come to my home to take measurements and pictures, they charged me $200 and said they would give me an estimate, and that the $85 fee would be part of that cost if the I had them do the work. I called them, was given a run around, and basically told this person is out the office, this person is somewhere else, over and over again. I never got my estimate, and they basically stole $200 from me. Will never use these people again.
this is NOT a local handyman!!!
this is NOT a local handyman!!! - this is instead a 'national franchise where they pay handymen a fraction and charge HUGE prices to the consumer. DONT USE!!!!
BUYER BEWARE
BUYER BEWARE! The franchise structure of Mr. Handyman has a national pricing list that is at least double if not triple the market. $74 to install a toilet paper holder. $74 to install a standard $12 towel rack from Walmart. $1,000 to hang 8 medium size mirrors. $1400 to assemble a do-it-yourself closet rack from Amazon. And they tell you they'll credit the $85 consult fee if you proceed, but do NOT tell you about the $84 service fee, so it's a wash. I would rather support a small mom and pop shop with make sense pricing. Unless you have money to throw away, AVOID!!

No integrity
No integrity. I discussed the project and got a price on January 24. I texted on February 9 that I wanted to move forward. But I asked for the estimate in writing since I had only gotten a verbal. I finally got the estimate on February 21, and it was $400 more expensive. Okay. I accepted the explanation.
Then they sent someone out to officially measure the doors. The original quote included two doors, or slab, and four doors plus frames, or pre-hung. The guy who came out said I only needed two pre-hung doors. Pre-hung doors are more expensive, so the price should come down right? Wrong. The final quote came in, not only with no change in price, but with an additional fee for using a credit card. I wasn't even asked whether I was going to pay by credit card. No decrease in price for the change from pre-hung to slab.
I asked why the price didn't come down. He said there was no difference in price. He had already told me before, and I knew, that there is a difference in price. I replied that, with no difference in price, I should get all of them pre-hung. He then replied that there would be a difference in labor. Using that logic, I reasoned with him that the price should have decreased if just because of the labor. He then said he wasn't going to nickel and dime the price. But that's exactly what he did.
No no no never no way no how NOPE
Based on my experience, my advice is to never use Mr. Handyman. I never will again.
This is the second time I have used…
This is the second time I have used this business, I want to say they are professional-respectful and do quality work. I am impressed and confident in this company that they have a list of things that they can do, give you a quote and schedule in a timely fashion. The first time I had him hang my ring lights, and the second call fix my shade sails that another company had screwed up. It does my heart and mentally so happy that I can call on someone reliable.
Excellent Service
We requested someone to come out and service one of our toilets. Our repair man, Danny, provided excellent quality and customer service! He fixed the issue quickly and provided some helpful maintenance tips. He also fixed our entrance/exit door, free of charge! We will definitely request him again for any future issues. Thank you Danny.

Great experience!
We used Mr. Handyman in Los Angeles, but I believe this is a national franchise. Before we called Mr. Handyman, we had two contractors disappear on us after we accepted their estimate, so we had to start over. Mr. Handyman showed up on time and gave us a fair estimate. It was a little higher than the others, but we got on the schedule right away and the work was down a couple of days later. The carpenter was friendly, professional and conscientious. The work was beautiful. Love these guys.
Set up an appointment with a $99 fee.
Set up an appointment with a $99 required consultation fee to fix drywall. The fix involved replacing about 6' of drywall tape in a ceiling. Day before arrival they left a voicemail saying our appointment was scheduled by the wrong group and someone would be in touch.
As we were expecting family to arrive for an event we didn't have time. I started the work myself. I replaced the drywall tape and did the first coat of drywall compound myself.
Then we get a call confirming they will be here tomorrow. I explained that since the voicemail said it need to be a different group that we didn't have time so I already started it myself. We were still obligated to the $99 fee so I said fine, send someone out.
All that was left to do was 1, maybe 2, top coats. I thought my $99 should come close. I had already sanded and even left my scaffold set up for them. This should have been an easy job.
He quoted my $400. I said no. I asked if he could just do one top coat which may have taken 20-30 minutes and the repair was only about 6' of tape. He dropped it to just under $200.
I said no.
Got stuck paying the $99 because someone in their office made a mistake. I can't recommend these people and will never contact them again.
Company that doesn't care about their customers
I used the franchise in Northern Virginia they were unprofessional did a half assed job and when I gave them a zero star review on their service the company called me back and started to argue with me about my poor rating. Had no interest at all in resolving the matter. Very rude. Skip this company it doesn't care about how they treat their customers and the work was incomplete.
Excellent experience all around.
horrible company

Run as fast as you can away from this company! I used Mr. Handyman in Huntsville, AL. They are a complete rip-off and very unprofessional. Canceled appointment twice. I hired them to dust off and move a washer and dryer a few feet from the garage to the laundry room and install hoses, repair a broken patio cover light, and purchase and install a pair of garage remotes. They couldn't find a garage remote and charged my credit card $814.33 and their technician authorized payment (initials) without my consent. The parts were only $81.40.
Used them in Cleveland
Used them in Cleveland, Ohio and they ended up causing more damage than we started with.
