Disappointed
I have had multiple interactions with management regarding bugs in their software causing the RAM usage to exceed 10gbs, a lot of data lag, and indicators that are not working properly. When asked for a refund, they tell me they will be in touch but after multiple consultations there has been no fix.

I'm sorry you're not happy. The issues you were experiencing involved issues with Rithmic servers (not-MotiveWave related), trying to load tick data back to 2017 (which will definitely cause a data lag), among other things. You asked for a refund 7 months after purchasing, which was outside of the refund window. Our Support Team works diligently with you to try to reproduce and solve any issues you have. We fix the issues when they are reproducible and when they are within our control.
Using MotiveWave with google/yahoo…
Using MotiveWave with the demo google/yahoo service. Get good results with Hurst Cycle, Big Trade, TPO and VPI. Yahoo also has a finance service package with news and research at an inexpensive price. It would be nice to see that included as a service. Also a feature to send study alerts for watch lists would be great.

Hi James, You can use the custom columns in a Watchlist to alert for a specific criteria, but it doesn't create an email alert. You can have the background of the cell turn a different color once the conditions are met. If you'd like to put in feature requests for any features/functionality, please email our Support Team and they can put in the request for you.

The great thing about motivewave is…
The great thing about motivewave is that the software works! That may sound strange given that, all software sold should work. Sadly, most software products either have so many bugs that it’s impossible, or it never lives up to the hype. With motive wave , it’s very stable and delivers more than one could ever hope for. I have been a customer for now over 6 years. I heartily recommend it.

The beauty of Elliott Wave analysis is that its always right ........ after the event. In the mean time its worse than a repainting indicator.
At least the cost is far less than the losses trading you will incur.
PS . Elliott wave is not an indicator.

Your review seems to be entirely on what you think of the Elliott Wave theory instead of having anything to do with the MotiveWave software. We have many Elliott Wave tools (EW Study, EW Scanner, manual to semi-automatic to fully automatic Elliott Wave tools), as well as also being a full featured regular (non-Elliott Wave) trading platform.

I agree with the user below. I detest the layout of this software. It has some good features but it needs to be priced lower to be competitive. If all packages were 20% cheaper, I'd probably pull the trigger.

Hi, the layout is completely customizable, so you can make it look however you want. We do have sale events throughout the year, so you can get it at a discount if you watch for our sales.
Klunky and hard to use
I compared motivewave to wavebasis, and there really is no comparison. Motivewave feels like it was built 20 years ago. I felt like I have to do too many steps to get it to do anything. It also doesn't have any advanced elliot wave trading features to find trade setups.
Also, I couldn't tell, because I'm new to elliot waves, but i have heard that motivewave makes invalid wave counts. So it's hard to trust it.
I don't know how their customer support is because I stopped using it before the end of the free trial.
Overall, maybe motivewave used to be the best for elliot wave analysis, but now there are better options.

We are the most advanced Elliott Wave software on the market and we do have advanced Elliott Wave trading features to find trade setups, including showing the unfinished wave patterns, wave ratios, EW trading strategies, and the EW Scanner.
Stating 'you've heard' things without actually testing the software doesn't help anyone in a review. MotiveWave does not 'make invalid wave counts'. We follow the rules and guidelines of Prechter's book: Elliott Wave Principle: Key To Market Behavior and we support all wave patterns.
