Expensive, moderately effective
SEE UPDATE BELOW
I have a Mosquitomagnet Pioneer. I placed it in a badly infested area — I got stung by tiger mosquitos 18 times in less than half an hour. I meticulously followed the directions on the user manual (an open and shaded area) after checking the main direction of the wind. I pierced a new scented pod in the existing holes, following the directions on the package. The scent of the pod was expressly designed for tiger mosquitos (Aedes albopictus). In one week, the trap caught precisely one (1) unlucky mosquito, I almost felt sorry for it. To me, this appliance is entirely useless, in spite of being very expensive. Several mosquitos fly around the device, but the fan is too weak to suck them in.
UPDATE I took the device to a repair center, which thoroughly overhauled it at a honest price. After that, the MM caught some 500 mosquitos in 20 days. There are many thousands of them all around, the MM made a modest contribution to the fight against the mosquitoes. It's quite expensive though: some 20 euros for a pod + 30 euros on a gas cylinder
