I'm giving one star because zero isn't an option. Complete rip off merchants. The price they claim online is nowhere close to what they will offer you once you send the gold. Don't bother with them. It took them an entire week to test my gold. they then suggested a ridiculous amount of what I had sent was not gold. Even if their estimates (lowballing the amount of real gold) were correct, they offered me less than 70% of what their website promises. Avoid at all costs. There are decent gold buyers out there. These people are definitely not decent

We take all feedback seriously and have reviewed this case in detail.
The item submitted was not solid gold at the declared weight and contained non-gold components (including internal fittings), which significantly reduced the actual precious metal content. For this reason, it would not be possible for any reputable buyer to offer a valuation based on the full submitted weight.
Our pricing is always based on confirmed gold content after testing, not gross item weight, and this process was explained at the time.
We strongly dispute the claim that our pricing is misleading, and we remain fully transparent in how valuations are calculated.

Yep - Too good to be true!
Found Moonstone when searching for 'best price for gold' on Google. I used their 'Price Estimate Calculator' and received a quote of just under £409 for 15.03g of 9ct gold.
I completed the 'gold selling form' and a prepaid envelope promptly arrived in the post a few days later. I packed up my gold and returned the package to Moonstone.
Magdalena called me today, initially offering me £100 less than I was quoted! When I explained I'd been quoted more on their website, I was told 'this is just an estimate'. Magdalena revised her offer to £335 which I reluctantly accepted. Magdalena also said that my gold weighed less than I'd measured on my precision scales - Don't be fooled!
Note to Moonstone, please don't use the excuse that the price of gold fluctuates - gold price action does not account for a 25% reduced rate. The 9ct gold price per gram on your site today is £27.17, you offered £22.33. it's clear that the rates quoted on your site are nothing more than misleading click bait.

Very professional service
Very professional service. As soon as I requested a gold pack Moonstone sent me a WhatsApp message confirming this request. They also phoned me several times to keep me updated. Once they received my items and had valued them, they rang me with their offer, which was very generous. Once i had accepted, they confirmed my bank details and it was in there within 2 hours. There were a couple of items that I asked to be returned as they couldn't be valued and this was no problem for them. I was extremely happy with the whole process from start to finish.

Website price totally different to offer price.
Did a quote online for my 17g 9ct gold curb chain that I had for a few years. The website offered £391*
Moonstone offered the best price from the few I checked.
Ordered my postal pack and it come 48 hours later. Pre paid special delivery.
Sent it off Monday, they received it Tuesday. Got a call on Tuesday afternoon with my offer.
The weighed it and it was actually 16.7g which is fair enough. They then said we can offer you 291. I pointed out their website said 391. She put me on hold for a minute and came back and said the website is only an estimate, she then said after speaking with her boss they can offer 314. I told them no sorry and to send it back.
*Their website does state estimate, but I think they offer the highest price so you send your gold in and they then hope you just accept the price. Their website states the estimate is based on the golds weight and condition, which mine all met but still they offered a ridiculously low price to their estimate.
The turnaround however was brilliant. So they have the stars for that. Sent it back for free and I received it back the day after. Obviously you don't have to accept the offer but they need to be more transparent on their website.
I sent it off to a shop in Birmingham and got 371 for it.
