Tried to place an order using Amazon Pay. Got an email that the order didn't go through and to try again. I tried again but did so without Amazon Pay. They shipped both, the one they said didn't go through and the replacement re-order. I didn't want 2 orders. I can't afford 2 orders. I only reordered because I was told the order did not go through and to try again. I have repeatedly asked for help, every day for the last week. No one will reply. I entered a contest they sponsored thru my local nursery. I received an email from "Helen" telling me I won with all the details of what to do. Then an hour later I received another email that said the 1st one was a mistake. If I was randomly selected how could it be a mistake. Only way is if the contest was rigged. No one will contact me back regarding…
No one will contact me back regarding an order I placed two months ago and for which my credit card was charged. On the order receipt, the phone number was purposely left blank.
Update: I finally received a reply regarding my order and a reason why I didn’t receive it yet. I’m changing my rating from one star to three. Hopefully, according to their email, I should receive my order around August of this year.

I reached out to Monrovia, to notify them of my most recent purchase of Orange Rocket Barbery shrubs. Two of the three have died and the 3rd is almost dead. I asked for assistance, the response was rude and vague. I notified Monrovia rep the nursey was great with all other plants of my purchase but not there's. I did some persoanl research. Went to 3 Home Depots, 2 Lowes, 2 gardens/nursery. SAME ISSUE. BUYER BEWARE... DO NOT PURCHASE!

Healthy and beautiful plants
I do love the Monrovia plants that I buy online. The plants are sent to a local nursery of my choice so I know the plants will be arriving safely and be taken care of until I can pick them up. Monrovia has great customer support and really great plants!

Terrible customer service!
I ordered plants 1/16/23 and was told it would be 2 to 3 months. It is now 4/30. I have asked for status 2 times and have gotten no reply. Absolutely, no reply, not even an acknowledgement that they received the request. I know plants grow at their own rate and I'm not upset about that. I'm upset because I don't know if they lost my order, cancelled it, or ??? I just sent my 3rd request for status but not really hopeful.

I’m very disappointed in this company. I bought 3 Arborvitae Green Emerald shrubs from this company. 2 of them died after all being planted with the same care. They never even responded to my attempts to get a refund.

I bought a holly shrub through Monrovia that looked great but when I tried to get some help with planting instructions they never responded and this was more than one attempt. Buyer beware. Monrovia has horrible customer service. I highly recommend that you buy your plants at a different retailer.
Unreliable Company
Purchased 3 bushes that were incorrectly labeled as evergreen for my zone. Then as a bogus good will gesture they gave me gift certificate to use online. Will not ship to me, I have to have shipped to nursery and closest one is in another state. Plants never shipped to nursery and no one ever responded to my emails. Months later I am contacted to see if I want credited back to gift card? Avoid this company, bad business practices and zero customer service.

They don't seem to know how to ship your plants, but they sure know how to charge your credit card!

- Got through a couple times to customer service who struggled to really help us with updates
- As the weeks went by, NO response to DOZENS of e-mails AND voicemails
- Left a voicemail on 7/8/22 demanding a cancellation and refund, and they called back within 5 minutes - how interesting! Their phones DO work!
- Fortunately, they did refund us on 7/12.
We can resonate SO much with these other bad reviews. Please be wary of ordering from Monrovia Online!

Do not purchase from this company. They do not understand customer service and do not communicate after the sale - except to reach out when your order does not arrive to tell you that they are unable to fulfill it.

Never order from Monrovia online. They obviously don't know how to do it. Their system is messy and they don't care. I ordered in January. In March, a nursery in CA called me saying my plant is ready for pickup. I'm on the east coast, and I don't know how my plant ended up in CA. Five months later my plant is still not here. I called them a few times. They just told me to keep waiting, until today the response became that the plant is unavailable due to unexpected spring cold weather. That's something taking 5 months to find out? Their plants might be beautiful, but their system is a huge mess and service is so unprofessional. If they care more about nursery customers and not so much the individual online shoppers, then just don't offer this option.

I have the same problem with Monrovia as other reviewers......paid $460 in October 21 for 3 hedge shrubs expecting delivery in April / early May. Have made 6 attempts so far by e-mail and left phone messages with on line order customer service......zero response. My next move is to pester the company CEO to get my money back. Never again will I order from or purchase Monrovia.

I ordered plants that were to arrive in early spring. I called about 1 month after expected and they told me it was still growing. After another month I called and emailed and got no response. Eventually I got a hold of someone live on the phone and she stated the plant had shipped to the local plant store. I called that store and they had not received it. Three more calls to get a live person to insist on a refund. Very unprofessional and I believe they hope you just forgot your order so they can keep your money. Do not order off the website or your will be disappointed.
Started out great, but not anymore
I had a seamless and very satisfying experience ordering plants online in 2021- delivery to my local garden center was within the window of 3 weeks that they advised was typical, and these plants ran circles around the same species (from Monrovia!) being sold in that garden center out on the racks - much healthier looking and a lot more growth. I was instantly sold but this year have had the disappointment so many others seem to have had - order only partially fulfilled, despite being charged immediately for it all - and no communication or replies to requests. I’ve been periodically checking with the garden center (a well-established local business with a solid reputation that they work to maintain) and just learned on the last one that one more of the plants had arrived - but would have never known this had I not been checking. Such a disappointment to see this business fall into the pit of inept direct-to-customer sales with zero customer support or integrity. I’ll be buying plants sourced from other nurseries from here on.
