Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 28 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found that the products received, such as boots and shoes, were not as described, often being made of cheap plastic or vinyl instead of advertised leather, and lacking orthopedic features. People frequently reported poor quality, with items arriving damaged, smelling strongly of chemicals, or breaking quickly. Additionally, sizing was a common issue, with products being incorrect or not true to size, making them unwearable. The return process was a significant source of frustration, as customers were often required to send items back at their own expense, which was costly and frequently resulted in no refund or issues with receiving the expected reimbursement. Some people also felt that product descriptions were inaccurate, particularly regarding materials and features, and found communication with customer service to be unhelpful. However, a few customers successfully obtained refunds, sometimes through third-party services like PayPal.

PayPal just refunded my money 👏.

PayPal just refunded my money 👏.
I purchased what was advertised as a Leather jacket, only to receive a very badly made plastic jacket that was so bad, it only belongs in the ‘dress up’ box.
I had over 13 emails between myself and the company (a bot named Mary), where they did the usual ‘sorry you are unhappy with your purchase… send it back… we will give you a 30%, 40%, 50% refund, you can keep the jacket… blah, blah, blah. I never relented. Took screen shots of emails and the Facebook site. Put a claim in with PayPal, and won.
I’m now on a mission to report every similar site to Facebook. I’ve succeeded in having 2 taken down.
If you have the energy, take them on and spread your knowledge of the scam far and wide.Cheers and good luck.

Very disappointing customer service

Ordered 2 pairs of boots by error but tried to cancel immediately and they said I couldn't do that but would be able to return them, no problem. I then waited almost 3 weeks for the order to arrive and when I tried to return it became impossible. They would take 40% 'restocking fee' and would cost $25 to return to China. I donated them to Vinnies. Also they are NOT orthopaedic boots. Very disappointed. They don't deserve even 1 star.

Beware

Beware! One star is too much for these people and the rubbish they sell. Bought one pair of boots ended up somehow with 2 tried to cancel one pair immediately after purchase and they said they were unable to
Product arrived squashed in a small bag, damaged and the quality was rubbish. They make it impossible to return unless you send to China at your own expense. Doubt I would ever see a refund if I wasted more money.

Disgusting

I purchased a pair of "orthopaedic boots" from this company. They are absolute rubbish. When I emailed about the refund, I was given a Chinese address. This was going to cost $25.00 to post. This is an absolute joke. The happy Mother and Daughter on the website should be ashamed of themselves. So should Facebook where these scam artists advertise.

AVOID Monroe Sydney shoes & boots like the plague

I bought 2 pairs of size 6 'so-called' orthopedic ankle boots in colours of blue & purple. Absolute rubbish - very poor quality, cheap plastic / vinyl, not leather, not orthopedic insoles, with side zips that stick. Cheaply made. To return have to send to China. Not worth it. They are going in the bin or op shop!

Such a shit quality product

Such a shit quality product. I ordered one size up like they suggest. They won’t even fit my 12 year old grandson. Dreadful material quality. So VERY VERY lightweight.

Nothing Aussie about the boots or the sellers in my book. SHONKY AS HELL. Lost my money and boots are going to Lifeline!!!

False advertising by a drop-ship…

False advertising by a drop-ship company in China pretending to be in Australia. Their website looked legitimate but the "mother and daughter" photo is a stock photo from the internet. They even included a Welcome to Country. The full leather orthopedic boots with gel inner soles were cheap, smelly plastic. The seller wanted photos to prove that the wrong item had been sent, which I declined to do. I complained to PayPay, which has not understood the situation and asked me to return the boots to China for a refund. I will not do that. Now I have received an email from the seller to buy more items! Do not order from this company.

This is a fraudulent site

This is a fraudulent site. Not from Sydney but China. Products are not orthopaedic and are fake. Shoe are worth approx $10-$15 each. You won't get a refund
My suggestion is log a scam alert on the ACCC website. If you go to their site it comes up with report a scam. Let's shut them down together

Bought a pair of orthopaedic ankle boots

Bought a pair of orthopaedic ankle boots at supposedly ½ price $59.95 and described as leather with a sof PU lining. The boots arrived about 2 weeks later and they are horribly made, PU leather with a paper like lining. I can get them on but impossible to zip up because they’re so poorly made. I complained and asked for a refund… as guaranteed. But I had to send images first of size, tags etc (no size, brand, tags - nothing!) and then I am told in another gushy email that I have to return the boots to China not Sydney, before I receive my refund. Which I have refused, as I don’t trust this company. I wouldn’t even give these boots away, maybe the op shop. I just wish I’d done what I normally do, read the online reviews FIRST! Lesson learned!

Chinese drop Shipping pretending to be Australian..cheap shoddy shoes

They are a Chinese drop shipping company, the shoes were smelly and disgusting on arrival and a button loop broke after one wear. Shoes were misrepresented as leather and are really thin imitation leather..ie plastic..Soles are very thin ..It felt like my big toe was beginning to work its way through the vinyl after around 2 wears

Scammy and misleading - beware!

Order #1416

The boots arrived without any return paperwork, and it was only after I contacted the company that I was told they needed to be returned to China at my own expense. This was never made clear at checkout, and I wouldn’t have placed the order had I known the return would be so costly and difficult.

The business presents itself as Sydney-based, but the return process and communication suggest otherwise. I returned the item via "Return to Sender" to their Sydney address — the same address the parcel came from — but they’re now refusing a refund unless I somehow retrieve it and re-send it to China.

I’ve lodged a dispute with PayPal and am considering a formal complaint to the ACCC. I’d recommend looking into reviews before purchasing — I wish I had.

Stay clear!!!!

I join the many dissatisfied customers of Monroe Sydney for many of the same reasons. Boots were way too small, inferior quality, no sizing on them or paperwork in the order, and yep….send them back TO CHINA to get a refund (so they say). THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COST. Absolute rubbish, I’m ashamed I was taken in by their swish online profile.

Wish I had read earlier reviews

Wish I had read earlier reviews. Shoes are nothing like the advertised product. No sizing but they're definitely smaller than I ordered. Quality is crap. Look like they're made of plastic. Certainly not orthopaedic. Thank heavens I only ordered one pair. Will be trying to get a refund from PayPal.

Very disappointed with orthotic boots

I bought 2 pairs of so called orthotic boots recently. There was nothing orthotic about them. Poorly constructed, cheap zips, not as advertised. Asked for refund & was given an address to return them to China, not Sydney. I have sent them to China & now awaiting a refund. Why are these businesses allowed to advertise on Facebook? I intend to notify the ACCC.

Orthotic leather boots

Ordered boots. Meant to be leather and orthotic. They arrived today and they are cheap and nasty and not worth the $60 they scammed out of me. Don't buy from them.

Disgraceful product

Disgraceful product. Plastic with toxic chemical smell that bear no resemblance to photographs on website. Just a drop shipping website using stock photos for a made up story. Fighting via PayPal, consumer protection and credit card for a full refund. Return to china costs more than boots!!

Minus 1

If there was a minus one star that is what you would get. You are not in Sydney as you say. The boots are cheap plastic and they’re not orthopaedic. You sent the wrong size, way too small. There are no sizing on the boots. And you make it difficult to return and recieve refunds. I get better service and quality from Temu!!
