Amazingly fast shipping, and I absolutely love the book. I can't wait for future Monochrome releases.

Easy to order, beautiful book

This is an updated review of my purchase from Monochrome Books.
I purchased a copy of the premier title offered by the publisher and the book didn’t arrive in the allotted time. I posted a disgruntled review and figured I was Pooched. I was totally wrong. I received an email on Monday, July 4th from Mr. Luis Ferro, Company CEO explaining my options as well as the steps that he had already put into action.
My book arrived as per his plan and I must say how impressed I am with both the beautiful book and the honesty of Mr. Luis Ferro. We all fumble the ball but the way this company’s CEO treated my issue was a benchmark for good customer service…he sent me an email on the 4th of July and for an American company that is just amazing!
I love the quality of the product, I am already waiting to purchase the next title, but more than that, I trust this company. I recommend both.

The overall look of the book is nice, however for the price that I paid for it, I would have expected the cover to be at least leather bound.

The books are beautiful. I ordered 2, one for me and one as a gift. Really love the experience of white text on black paper.

Upon initial inspection, the ink on a few of the pages seems to be slightly faded. I know it happens at most any printer, but wanted to let you know for QC.

The number of the gift book happens to be the birth month and year of the recipient, so that is an extra bonus!

Their first book is everything it was described to be and my light-sensitive eyes are grateful. It's a work of art, and Meditations the perfect choice for such a color theme. Instantly becoming the favorite book in my collection, and I'll be watching eagerly to see what's next from them.

Since I have received this book I have been loving every bit of it! I'm not much of a reader but this style of coloring is really comfortable for reading and the philosophy within by Marcus Aurelius was quite thought provoking. The book feels good from a texture perspective and the individual black pages and white text look great. The only complaint I could give would be on the included bookmark which isn't well kept together on the ends, but this was minor.

I love the book they've produced. There were delays, and they were always transparent about then process and delays. Despite those delays I plan on supporting them in the future with their next projects.

The book is so beautiful! It's well made, making it easy to read and follow along without eyestrain. I'm so happy I got it!

I’m a backer of the original Meditations project on Kickstarter, standard hardcover. There were many unforeseen production and shipping delays due to COVID, but Luis communicated to us the whole time. It was all typical of a crowdfund started during a global pandemic (I backed several other projects that all had similar or worse delays). The end product was a beautifully designed book; the slipcase, the cover, and the pages were all high quality that matched the price for the version I purchased. The only feature I wish was better, is that the text has a small number of places where it seems like not enough ink was used. The white doesn’t seem as full and bold as it could be. If there is a better white ink out there to use, I hope it’s used in future projects. But this doesn’t take away from the reading experience, it’s all clear enough to read without strain on my eyes. Lastly, I do like the subject they chose for the flagship volume as well as translation used. It’s clear and easy to follow which makes the read that much more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be backing/purchasing future Monochrome books.

There were a number of delays with Meditations due to COVID supply chains, but the communication from Monochrome Books was timely and upfront. The end product is fantastic and I'll be looking forward to more of their publishings.
