Expert in costing you more.

Expert in costing you more.
Put me onto the cheapest electricity only supplier who will save me gbp250 per year by charging me a higher kwh rate and daily charge for an electricity only deal which of course is not possible. Never understood how these so called experts get away with it. it being false information possibly detrimental to consumers. Just so you do not think I only give negative reviews I gave Argos a 5 star one and will be giving Ocado a 5 star also for good service in resolving an issue. Sorry M and S you got a real bad one due!

Can’t be trusted!

I have relied on MSE for years. I bought car insurance via their trusted recommended comparison site Money Supermarket, The company Stella, sent me threatening messages before the policy commenced about connecting a telematic device I hadn’t received. I therefore cancelled the policy within 14 days and before it commenced. I was charged £75 in breach of consumer protection law. I emailed Stella to make a complaint and they just ignored me and didn’t reply. I contacted Money Supermarket for help and they said it was nothing to do with them. They are the only site listing Stella Insurance, USwitch and Go Compare don’t. If MSE recommend Money Supermarket and you get ripped off and no one wants to know, then they can’t be trusted. I have now unsubscribed from MSE.

TransUnion-incompetent morons!!!

I have used his site for years but he has just changed to credit reviews by TransUnion Uk!!! Horrendous company, read their reviews on here!!

My review from them was poor but on the very same day Experian reviewed me 999 excellent!!!

I wrote to them, their reply was they do it differently to other companies!!!!!

I have an excellent credit record and have for YEARS!! If I needed to borrow money and I was knocked back because of these incompetent morons I would be straight onto the ombudsman!!!!!

I can’t believe Martin Lewis has sunk this low!!! Same old story of standards dropping because fame has gone to his head!!!!

Shop around

I had a quote for car insurance from a well known company of £433, so I looked at it and when back next day to my account I created and the quote increased overnight to £499, so I used these guys and low and behold I had another quote from the very same company for £401, spot on, but I have to say I had also used their partner site and their quote was over £1,000, so yes it does pay to shop around, car insurance is such a rip off and a con

Does what it says on the tin

I've been with the same car insurer for years. Every year the premium creeps up, but, until this year not by enough to encourage me to shop around. This year the increase [as others have experienced with their own insurers] was way above inflation. So MSE price comparison... the lowest quote was from an insurer I'd never heard of, so using Trustpilot I discovered how unsuited it would be for me. A few pounds more was the insurer that my wife has been with for years. The premium is well below that which I'd shelled out for a couple of years. They are reputable. So it's a no brainer.
For savings MSE again came up trumps. A bank I'd not come across before - and why should I as their main business is lending to businesses? Our financial advisor was impressed by the interest rate we are getting and was aware that they were not some fly-by-night or iffy outfit.
Well done MSE.

This site is not what it seems - user beware!

This site seems to be listed twice on trustpilot.

I had been using this site since 2007 and had always trusted it. However, it seems that at some point it was sold - whilst Martin Lewis's name is associated with the site (giving it legitimacy) the site is now awful.

It's essentially just peddling products and pushing certain viewpoints. It is no longer working for the consumer. Don't go near the forums unless you want to be subjected to abuse - abuse that seems to be orchestrated by the site administrators.

The final cherry on the cake - the company thinks it's above the law and refuses to delete your data according to GDPR legislation. DESPITE clearly stating on their web site that you only have to drop them a line to get your accounts deleted.

I asked them to delete an account in March. I had to contact them multiple times - eventually they agreed to do it. It's still there.

Be very, very wary of using this site. It's not what it seems.

MSE is not trusted guidance

I relied on MSE's newsletter and website to find the best bank accounts for interest.

I opened two accounts endorsed by MSE, one with Tandem, one with Barclays.

Barclays is shambolic, has the worst IT I've ever encountered, and should not be trusted as being able to manage anything let alone money.
I've wasted hours and hours trying to first open the account then trying to use the account.
Now I supposedly have an account, I can't use it because of the ridiculous set up that has. Look at trustpilot for their reviews.

The tandem account you have a link to took me to an affiliated company called Raisin, who has an app which makes you feel anxious about it's legitimacy. I've tried to contact them three times and they fail to get back each time. What's more, they've since then rejected my application, so time wasted, because they lowered the interest rate on the account. I've never once in my life been rejected for a bank account.

This is really a quite troubling experience for supposedly trusted institutions, I don't think highly of a trusted expert recommending such appalling service providers, it has wasted so much of my time and caused me grief. At the very least, these banks should come with warnings about their very poor service on your website and newsletter.

The entire system is rigged as they coin in the cash in brown envelopes for supposedly impartial reviews and recommendations. The rotten crook sold out long ago. Who could resist handfuls of cash for bent appraisals.

My Utility, Home/Car Insurance quotes, allegedly the best deals, were ALWAYS at least 30% more then I could have got elsewhere. The site steers you like the titanic into an abyss and still gets his pound of flesh. Consumers should be protected from these charlatans. Like they say "if you wouldnt buy them a drink in a pub then dont trust them". This applies to this muppet and every single politician today who should be protecting us from these faux consumer scams. STAY AWAY.

A shadow of its former self.

Unfortunately this website is a shadow of its former self and now run by the flaky, woke, snowflake brigade.
Got banned from their forum permanently, (oh gosh however will i live after this!)
Offensive / unkind comments seem to be any other point of view / opinion the regular forum dwellers or flaky snowflake mods disagree with. In fact they will ignore the cliche's on the forum who regularly post offensive, inaccurate or biased comments and just hand out bans to users who point out the obvious.

Of course the ban is so effecive you can just make another account and continue to post, hilarious.

Its so sad really this website used to be very helpful, now it's just full of ads, biased "deals" (the ones who pay them to appear) and the UI itself looks a complete mess. I'm suprised Martin Lewis still puts his name to this amatuer mess to be honest. An 8 year old could create a better website.

There are far superior comparison websites out there which are actually run and moderated by adults.

Everyone be careful of this company,I…

Everyone be careful of this company,I was scammed, cheated ,defrauded and deceived by one of their polish staff supposedly based in Angel ,central London, but the number he called me was a Guildford ,Surrey number.Anyway,he cold called me like a discreet criminal ,appeared to be very friendly and he somehow managed to scam me into switching from People’s energy from Avro energy.Upon research,I found People’s energy are way more expensive and have very high exit fees.Luckily,I managed to cancel on time and my direct debit . I have informed this matter to the police. As far as I am concerned ,this is a criminal act ,just to cold call someone and scam the person. If you call the given number, nobody answers and even if they answer after a very long wait ,they sound very agitated like someone deprived of drugs ,rude, uncivilised, hostile and no etiquette.I will never use or trust money expert ,in fact the company should be called “Scam and Fraud” expert and this is probably how the company makes money by cheating, lying, deceiving and committing fraud .Please avoid this company, like a plague.Never trust this company and they are also scamming people with their disgusting Bitcoin investment which is another criminal scam to deceive good ,hardworking people and put further more into debt and letting the multimmillionnnaires criminals getting away with murder. This kind of injustice has to stop ,because this is not civilised and is inhumane.

Beware of financial recommendations

I have always trusted MSE recommendations.....UNTIL NOW . I invested a SIX FIGURE SUM with VANQUIS Bank. What a mistake. I cancelled my application because they completely messed up my application ,and in spite of 2 emails, a letter and 7 phone calls and 3 promises of dates to return my money they have still not returned it. I would have appreciated more research by MSE before their worrying recommendations. I will read their newsletter, if I do not block them, with a large pinch of salt, in future.

Consumer law barristers clb

Consumer law barristers clb are the most amazing, professional team who I can’t thank enough for there hard work in clearing
Over £50,000 of debt ,myself and my family regrettably found ourselves owing for over 15 years , this was a ball and chain around our necks and has stopped us living our lives. David Uff and his team have been reassuring, and efficient and most importantly of all , very professional in dealing with our creditors And so much so we never would have ever dreamed to have been in this position, I can not recommend them highly enough to anyone who has any debt at all to contact them to see if they can change your life like they have ours.
