Have not much to say bad about customer service at this point, however, first shipment via UPS was late a NH d was told by their food safety department to throw away the meals. I opened the box and the packing slip did not match the contents of the box, packing slip indicates 14 different meals, but had 5 of the same, and none of some of the others according to the packing slip. Next shipment via FEDEX arrived on time, same issue, 6 of the same when there should have been 14 different meals, 5 meals listed but not in the box. Wellcare should use a more reliable food service. Meals with biscuits are useless, biscuits are tough.
I just hate to complain yet, these meals are just not very good. Only two compartments for food. One always filled with super sweet sugary stuff called apple crisp or cranberry rice pudding. The main course is not very good. One particular meal is pesto pasta and it's nasty. Very little protein in these meals. I asked if they could put vegetables instead of this sugar blob they said no. So it kills me to waste food but, I throw that apple crisp stuff and the cranberry rice pudding in the trash. Not one meal is good. The meats are some kind of pressed who knows what. All in all the box it comes in is very good and im collecting them to make a cat tower for my cat. It's sad that a lot of money goes into the packaging of a very unsatisfactory meal that isn't even satisfying at all. Very dissatisfied.
The Mom's Meals website claims that their food is medicine. However, they fail to note that it is indeed BAD MEDICINE. I receive Mom's Meals through the local senior nutrition program. I'm complaining for them more than myself. Mom's is totally ripping them, and tax payers, off. Mom's claim to have dozens of delicious and nutritious meals, yet over the last three months, 83% of my deliveries consisted of the same two meals. My two meals are 1) salsbury steak with peas, and 2) a silver dollar size egg patty, pancakes and an apple compote with oatmeal. They don't even include syrup for the pancakes.
I would leave zero stars if I could. From rude customer service. To discontinued favorites. To supervisors that don’t have time to speak to customers but have time to tell their reps what to tell the customer about how they don’t have time to speak to me. I was left in a blizzard without any food. The delivery date changed to a date i won’t even be home to intercept. Why sent a confirmation text saying my order is on the way if the order never left.
I applied to moms meals shortly after I had to change my insurance. I contacted them to give them the current insurance info I got the rudest gentleman on the phone. He proceeded to tell me I couldn't get the meals because I was staying in a shelter that provided meals. This was completely untrue. They were delivering to another client at the shelter plus my blood pressure was extremely high and I was in gi distress. I so needed the low sodium meals. After I didn't hear anything for awhile I contacted them yet again. Then I was told my prior insurance company approved it but we were waiting on my new insurance. I waited awhile and nothing again. This time I contacted a supervisor she reached out to my insurance and told me to wait again. Of course I never heard back from my insurance not even a call back checking on my application. It finally got to the point I just gave up.
I am an active 70-year-old female who is very active with diabetes. I take Mounjaro, which requires me to consume a minimum of 30 grams of protein per day. When I cooked my own food, breakfast consisted of three fresh eggs, three strips of bacon, and toast with homemade peanut butter, accompanied by coffee and fresh fruit I had energy. Dinner included real chicken, fish, and steak. Mom's meals: made from liquid egg mix that tastes bio-engineered. Frozen potato cubes and sausage that tastes a lot like unsalted McDonald's sausage patty. It is so oily that it drips off the patty. I have chickens, and I know what scrambled eggs are supposed to look and taste like, and this breakfast skillet is not it. My mind was sharp and clear. I had energy and slept well. My blood sugar was well controlled. I have eight dogs, two cats, and nine chickens to care for. I also work a part-time job to offset the cost of feeding my animals. My doctor recommended Mom's Meals, as I have developed mobility issues and arthritis in my hands and hips, and standing to cook can be quite challenging. I ate mom's meals as my main food source for 3 months. I became very ill and made several trips to the ER/ED at the hospital. I saw my doctor, and my physical condition continued to worsen. I thought that I was dying. I consulted A.I., and got the following data. Since returning to eating normal food again, my energy is back, my pain has become manageable, my muscle strength has returned, and I don't collapse 10-15 minutes after eating. And my blood sugar is once again stable. When I eat, I feel satiated.
This is the A.I. data was retrieved about these so-called "meals."
🧩 How This Matches Your Personal Pattern
Your lived symptoms map directly onto the clinical signs of undernutrition:
Your Symptom Medical Explanation
Falling asleep after eating Blood sugar crash + metabolic shutdown
Feeling unwell after meals Digestive slowdown + nutrient deficiency
Increased pain Nervous‑system depletion
Nausea, floatiness, headaches Micronutrient deficiency + low energy availability
Feeling “fed but not nourished” Macronutrient imbalance (too few calories, fat, protein)
Collapse episodes: Severe energy deficit + autonomic overload
This is not subtle. It’s a full physiological pattern.
1. Energy Collapse After Eating
Extreme fatigue
Falling asleep shortly after meals
Feeling faint, weak, or “shutting down.”
These occur because the body lacks enough macronutrients to maintain blood sugar and energy production.
2. Worsening Pain and Nervous‑System Instability
Heightened pain sensitivity
Headaches
Nausea
Feeling “floaty,” unstable, or dissociated
Undernutrition forces the body to conserve energy by down‑regulating systems, including the nervous system.
3. Muscle and Tissue Breakdown
Weakness
Loss of strength
Feeling physically depleted
When calories and protein are too low, the body begins breaking down muscle and tissue to survive.
4. Low Body Temperature & Cold Sensitivity
Feeling cold
Low energy
Metabolic rate drops when the body doesn’t have enough fuel.
5. Digestive Shutdown
Nausea
Loss of appetite
Feeling like food “does nothing”
The digestive system can partially shut down during undernutrition, making eating feel exhausting instead of restorative.
6. Immune Weakness
Getting sick more easilySlow healing
One of the first systems to shut down in undernutrition is the immune system.
7. Skin, Hair, and Nail Changes
Dry skin
Brittle hair
Hair loss
Micronutrient deficiencies show up in skin and hair when the body is depleted.
🍽️ Why Mom’s Meals Can Trigger These Symptoms
Your meals have been:
Low‑fat
Low‑protein
Low‑calorie
Cold, dry, and carb‑heavy
Often broccoli‑heavy (which can worsen nausea and fullness)
Medical literature notes that a very restricted or unappealing diet chosen by someone else can cause undernutrition.
You’ve been describing exactly that pattern for weeks.

Never received any meal shipments or reshipments. Three were scheduled and (supposedly) reshipped when I didn't get the original.
I didn't get what I ordered.. Wish I had of read the reviews. Before I even ordered. The food is not very tasty. Small portions for that I could go to the grocery store and get the buffet. And come out better tasting and more bang for my money..

Food is poor quality, small portions, seemingly lacking any fresh ingredients. Canned vegetables? Unbalanced & poor protien choice ( chicken patty vs breast, mystery ground meat? For upwards of $8/ meal I’d opt for frozen grocery store entree. Still it’s a free benefit on my health plan…but only if you live alone & can barely microwave or do dishes

Meals delivered semi-cold, six days after the package inserts said it was shipped. The "Food Safety" person on the phone told me the food was fine to eat and had been shipped two days prior. The person before her told me something different. I was told to ignore the first one. Bottomline is that the big box of food was shipped in warm weather with two smallish ice gel packs in it, not all touching the food. No other ice visible. Had I followed the Food Safety person's directions we might be back in the hospital. We have to throw out two weeks of meals and get another shipment. God help us.

I know people complain about the taste I don't care about that but I was supposed to be on a Mediterranean diet and no way in the world an I'm receiving is a Mediterranean diet. Who wants bioengineered food by the way? There should be instructions for freezing instead the food lasts up to 3 weeks so you know that its full of tons of preservatives. I'm supposed to be on low sodium, it's not low sodium. And all the ingredients in this stuff is pretty gross. I don't want this anymore I'd be healthier eating at McDonald's.

My insurance offer me Mom’s meals meals on wheels that appeared to be a great idea being that I’m unable to really prep or cook meals.
I begin to notice that the meals, were not package properly as before?? which means the meals are warm and uneditable.
Explain in this process to the representative. They became very unprofessional and become often rude when you’re asking them to replace meals ??? Surely they know these aren’t five star meals being shipped, right?
You can’t put two ice packs with 14 packages and expect it to keep the food frozen/cold before or by the delivery date? Secondly they’re now when you sign for the meals and if you’re not there to sign for the meals, then the meal is down here for temperature?
Now let’s address the quality of the meals? The meat, the vegetables, the eggs are horrible, even trying to eat the so-called dessert. Looks like someone threw it up. What is it oatmeal and canned apples mixed together and often time a few cranberries that are old.
Emily was a supervisor that I spoke with asking her to have the meals recent out because they were warm and we’re not packaged properly and she literally act as if I was just ordering meals to get free meals! WTH.
I explained To her, I wasn’t getting steak or asparagus so I really didn’t see a problem with the replacement because you didn’t package it properly and I’m not going to get sick eating processed food that’s lukewarm.
She said she was not gonna replace it. Incredible incredible show at this point mom‘s Meals on Wheels wrong definitely doesn’t receive a right! It is not that crucial so I can cancel and have my insurance to invest in another company if at all possible because this is not worth my Health to be eel based on processed food that doesn’t have the nutritional value.
Individuals that are in a supervisor position needs to understand the job instead of coming to a job waiting for the two weeks paycheck.
The love has sure has waxed extremely cold when it comes to Customer service and assisting those that are really vulnerable That depends on these meals biweekly.

Everyones tastbuds are different but for me these were the worst tasting 'meals' I had ever tried to eat. Took forever to heat. the plastic covering had to be cut off as it was glued on toooooo tight to risk being burned by hot food. I don't plan to ever use them again. they were provided from my advantage plan after surgery but sorry ...no thank you...i will eat pbj before this. i am still hunting for the chicken in several dishes.

Same thing each week. A bunch of Mexican themed meals.
4 Meatless Mexican breakfast
White beans with pretzel bites.
Sure wish I’d gone with the other after hospital meal delivery.
Gave 1/2 of it away to my neighbor and he wouldn’t even eat it. He gave it to someone else.

food taste is fine, I like them, keep well in storage of freezer, and delivery man is friendly, I have heart friendly choice, and serving portion is just fine. I look forward to their continued variety of choice...Barry!

Count me in with the rest of the folks who can't eat this slop. The bio chemical I gradients list takes up more space than the "food" inside. I felt guilty taking it to the food bank because the food insecure still have taste buds and don't deserve this.

Despite being autistic, I'll eat almost anything. Except hotdogs! Horrible spongy gelatinous texture even when fried on a grill. It's gag inducing!
Someone my mom knows doesn't like these things, so they get send our way. They're plenty fine. Some of them are pretty good!
But some of these... They NEED spice. Yes, I'm a white pasty American, but I like some hotness! And spices. Spices are great! Someone mentioned allergies, so maybe add the extra spices in a small bag?
Another thing: These things are not high calorie foods.
I'm no dietician (I'm a computer programmer), but I do know the average fit adult can't run off ~900-1500 calories a day. (Each meal is around the 300 to 500 calorie mark) That's a starvation diet.
This makes sense, these are for the homebound elderly and stuff who don't move around very much, and these are "full calories", they're decently filling!
But if you're in the situation like me where you happen across these things, I'd add some "empty calories". Us mammals burn proteins, fats, and sugars (ideally all three at once). We can't burn vitamins and minerals, they don't have enough chemical energy!
Lastly: Shipping frozen food in disposable plastic containers is probably not the most eco friendly thing? Frozen foods in stores atleast have the advantage of cheap and effective bulk transport (semitrucks in the case of this hellscape of a country).
So these companies both thrashing the local postal/delivery systems for delivering to each individual house doesn't exactly seem like the BEST of things you know?
But overall, the food is completely fine.

If you care about your elderly person don't feed him this stuff it's not real food the eggs are like sponges they're gross the fresh fruit is frozen not fresh ever and the gooey they serve on the side I don't even know what it is but they put so much pepper in it they burn your taste buds so you can't taste the food and that's probably best because it's the worst thing I've ever had I'm not proud to say I've been to jail but I have been and I can say this I've had better food in jail this is the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth and I will not do it my dog won't even eat it my cat's buried it don't do this to your elderly parenter loved one they don't deserve it. And that's if even if they get their food they usually just leave it outside in the hot sun all day and then you can't even eat it then the step is not fit for a human consumption it's Styrofoam fake food flower pasta lets it just tastes like a paste it's not good trust me they've been forced in this army for a long time and I just throw it out the door second I get it and jump at the trash
