Great at beginning, sucked at the end
The company was great at first, got me and my fiance pre-approved, I supplied all the documentation requested in a timely manner. Was told one day we didn't have to pay off any debt at closing, and lender kept going back and forth saying we did, then we didn't, we did, then we didn't. Towards the end, it was pretty bad. 2 weeks before closing, I get a call stating we had to pay off some debts at closing and got the amounts, which were incorrect, so I had to send in statements. Also, 4 days before closing, I was informed I couldn't be on the loan because my DTI was too high. I didn't take any new credit or use any credit cards through the whole process. After that got squared away, they just kept needing more and more docs that should have been in the file already. 3 days before closing, I receive the CD and numbers weren't correct with debt payoff and homeowners insurance, even though I sent the proper statements 2 WEEKS prior. I call the lender and they say "it's just an estimate, it needs to be signed so we can close in 3 days. It will get fixed." The day before closing I get a settlement statement from escrow and amounts were STILL not right and it was after hours so I couldn't get ahold of anyone. I sent an email to everyone in the office. The day of closing arrives, and luckily, my email to everyone and their boss, including a higher up boss, must have been received it because the docs were fixed. Signed everything and away I went. Got a email a few hours later saying the loan will not fund and close because they need more docs. Wait, WHAT? Got the docs sent ASAP then the weekend came. Finally closed on Monday. Very VERY frustrating transaction but in the end, it got done.
