Module Experts? Nope! Caution: Also doing business as "AES Modules"

I sent a PCM from a 2006 Mercury Monterey to National Parts Wholesalers. Turnaround time was about a week. After "diagnosis & repair" my vehicle ran worse than before I sent the PCM in for repair. I called customer service. The girl on the other end of the line was yawning while I was explaining my issue. She said if I didn't get a call back from someone within 48 hrs, try calling back again. The next day a customer service person called me back to say I'd be getting a refund because "we can't reprogram your module." I should've been told this when I originally called about their services. THIS IS FRAUD.
A week later, no refund showing on my credit card. Another call resulted in only $38.65 of my $149.00 charge being refunded. Buyer beware -- invoice states: "Diagnostic Evaluation Service (DES) ... is a non-refundable service." In other words, "Thank you for a hundred bucks, Sucker."
Big mistake on my part, never agree to payment terms like theirs. Avoid these guys like COVID.
Hope this helps.

Review up date . I have gotten back my original part and $115. They keep $138. Did what they said they would . New up date . The ECU was not bad. It works perfectly. Moudle Experts are a Total ripoff

Bate n switch ! Same story telling me can’t repair my ecu for Mercedes’ sprinter. Need to buy used one from them for additional $799.00 so they can unlock and reprogram using my old ecu? Oh lifetime warranty but you wouldn’t get the oringial unit back. New ECU from MB dealer is $789.00? Now I’ll start from scratch and try to get my ecu back TJ

Be very very careful

$259.00 excluding tax for nothing. After 2 weeks with no status or feedback I received my ECU. Looked the same. No paperwork. No instructions. No nothing. Called customer service on status of my unit. Was advised my ECU had failed and they couldn't repair a faulty unit!! You've got to be kidding me! I feel scammed out of good hard earned cash.

Im glad i read these reviews

Im glad i read these reviews. I had a similar experience with them last May when i needed a body control module repaired. They charged me $149 + return shipping. Told me it could not be repaired and would cost an additional $349 for a remfg unit. If i wanted my board back, it would cost me $99 + shipping. They came down to an additional $249, which i purchased about a month later when i could get the money together. My gut tells me it was a ripoff. The module seemed to work except for the key fobs. Im now in need of a PCM and was going to contact these folks again, but it seems like a pattern that they get the board to repair, then tell you it cant be repaired, then you have to pay for the diagnostics or a new board. Im going to pass this time.

Pretend to be able to fix..

Pretend to be able to fix... Charge twice to diagnose than to "repair" which they never do because they cant. They are resellers not repair shop. They misrepresent their service. They will charge absolute top dollar to replace unit which may or may not work.

Worst costumer services and scammer shop. I send my module for repair, never opened for repair and send back in the same way I send. I call for warranty services and never return the call back. I send a email to Adam and never respond back.

Order #2145675

I called Module Experts and spoke with M. D. /Sales Associate 12/20/2021 (not real sure of the date) about having my 1989 Mustang GT computer repaired.
I spoke with M. about a friend of mine replacing the 3 Capacitors in my computer. I was concerned that at this point the computer couldn’t be fixed. M. assured me we can fix your computer.
The cost for my A9L Mustang GT Computer to be fixed was $267.29 paid 12/21/2021
12/22/2021 $9.10 Shipped my A9L computer to Module Experts (Address above) to have it repaired, I receiver it back in maybe a week. The documentation stating that Module Experts replaced 3 capacitors and the computer was fine

I installed the computer into the car to find it was not fixed and it was doing the same thing it did when I sent it to Module Experts for repairs. I called M. at Module Exports and was told to send it back using the warranty (???) Why warranty they didn’t fix it.
I sent the computer back to Module Experts.
Shipped the computer back on 1/07/2022 Shipping cost $8.85
I received a call from M. 1/14/2022 @ 10:32 AM stating that my computer could not be repaired. I asked why it was sent back to me stating it was fixed? M. comment was he was sorry, and it was due to human error on Module Experts side.
I was then told if I ordered a new computer at the coat of $1,084.85 and the $267.29 would come off the top. I did not write the exact amount down. After our conversation with no resolve about a refund, I asked M. to send my computer back to me and enclose any refunds that he felt I should get. I asked M. to connect me with a supervisor. I was transfer to a phone that no one answered.

When I received my computer back and no refund or check was enclosed I figured that Module Experts was done with me. Well I may not be done with them yet!

I would have to rate this company on a scale of 1-10
It would be (1)

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!

After receiving my ECU immediately Adam the representative informed me that my unit was bad and that they had a repaired unit ready to go for 1,700 and would apply my 300.00 towards the new unit. I informed him to send my unit back minus the inspection charge . Adam who should not be working in customer service and very rude, informed me that my 300.00 would not be returned. I received the unit and had it checked out by another company only to find out the my old unit was perfectly fine and that a rodent had chewed the wires. Biggest scam outfit ever, My fault for not checking reviews first.

RIP-OFF Company

Sent module in, they said it was burnt and unrepairable and wanted 1100 dollars more for a new used one. No way !!! Got the module back, sent it to a company in Chatanooga . They repaired my "unrepairable" module and sent it back in 3 days. Module Experts is a total rip off. Never use a company where you have to pay up front before its even tested. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!

Adam E

Adam E. the Internet Sales Associate assured me they could reparir my 2005 BMW 325xi ECM for $239.00 plus shipping and handling. I got an email back saying the ECM was beyond repair and it would cost another $760.00 for a remanufatured one. I agreed. They charged my debit card $813.20 instead of the $760.00 I was told. I was led to believe that I would get the remanufatured ECM "Plug and Play" ready for me to install. When I receive the ECM, there was somone else paperwork included with my paperwork and a message saying that I had to have a certified mechanic install the ECM otherwide the warranty would be null and void. When I brought my dissatisfaction to Adam's attention he emailed me back stating "I don't caree who installs it. Don't email me again." Great customer service? Not in the least. I will never use Module Experts ever again. I will go to BMW from now own.

Bate & Switch Scam outfit

Bate & Switch Scam outfit. I deeply regret ever having sent them my truck's Transmission Control Module (TCM) to be repaired for $149 + $15 return postage. They claimed that my TCM could not be repaired, but for $499 they would sell me a re-manufactured unit. I reluctantly agreed to this because I could not drive my truck without a TCM, even though I could buy a refurbished unit for only $225. But that would delay being able to drive my truck even longer. After having been without a TCM for 2 weeks, I bought a a refurbished TCM from Flagship One for $225 + free shipping. And then cancelled my order with ModuleExperts & told them to return my original TCM. They refused to cancel my order, & still have not returned my original TCM. As it turned out, my truck's check engine light (P1740 error code) was being caused by the transmission's Torque Converter - and NOT by the TCM. I believe that ModuleExperts had lied to me when they told me that my TCM was defective & could not be repaired. I bet that they repainted it, & then sold it to some other sucker after reprogramming it.They charged me $514 for a used TCM that they refused to allow me to return.
