Premeditated thief Phoned Martin after looking at reviews…

Phoned Martin after looking at reviews on check a trade and Facebook. He said he could come straight away for a quote. He seemed desperate for the work and said he could come the next day. He moreless said if you don’t pay upfront I won't come. He also said he would send a text with his bank details and I should pay quickly.
So we payed and he came the next day. He said it would take one or two hours.

Our problem was we had glue residue stuck to the carpet and dog urine to remove.
After 2 hours he hadn't removed any of the glue even though he tried. He then admitted he got the cheaper solvent to save money instead of the one he demonstrated at the time of the quote.

He did go over the carpet with the industrial carpet cleaner. . He then said he was tired and could he come back on Monday. He was with us 4 hours.
Then the next day I get a text asking for money because his van had blown up to fix it. I was shocked beyond belief and thought it very strange to ask a client for money. I already gave him £160 for doing the carpet which hadn't been done.

Then 3 days later he was coming back because it was the weekend. So on Monday I text to see if he was coming. I offered to get all his stuff drive to the wholesale for the better solvent to finish the job but he refused. I then went and looked at the 146 reviews on check a trade. Every review had 10 except about 5 or 6 that had the same problem as me. Money upfront didn't turn up all or didn't come back and finish the job.

Martin seems a nice person at first with his sales patter but I believe it's his intention not to finish the job. I am out of pocket £160. Half the time he was on the phone and not working. So a complete disaster all round. Watch out his business model is called "premeditated thief."

Ironically his business picture is a figure meditating, I assume to make you think of peace. He's given me nothing but worry, sleepless nights and financial worry. What a stand up guy!

Also his address on his website is The Empire State Building New York.

My wife and I are both vulnerable and disabled.
