My goal is to practice soldering, bill of materials drafting and PCB design concepts in preparation to designing my own boards. I purchased the "Fundamental Skills Bundle" and I was really impressed by the quality of the kit, of the documentation and by the speed of delivery. I will definitely order more kits in the future, and would also enjoy more challenging project kits!
Pros:
* Top-notch documentation quality
* Solid packaging design with flawless shipment
* Very rapid delivery (within Switzerland)
Cons:
* Some of the kits are not self-contained and require a little extra hardware for signal generation and power supply (especially the OpAmp kit). Understandable for intermediate kits, maybe a little annoying for the basic ones (like the BCD counter).
Had a slight hiccup with the delivery company, MSD support was super helpful and fast. Would recommend.
Rapid processing and shipping, great quality components. Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic products. I still need to solder them, but the customer service, the packaging, and the fast shipping are all absolutely top. The extra documentation is also fabulous, better than I have ever seen in soldering kits. I cannot wait to finish mine. Some soldering kits are also great to give as a present to kids too.
I picked up the Mixed Signal Development BCD Counter kit after seeing it demonstrated online, and the experience exceeded every expectation. The quality of this kit is honestly on par with professional training boards. The PCB is beautifully laid out, clearly labeled, and built with high-grade materials. Even the included components were surprisingly high quality, the electrolytic capacitor was a Kemet, which you rarely see in hobby kits.
The instructions were thorough and included a full schematic, which made the build both educational and fun. Everything fit perfectly, soldered cleanly, and the circuit worked on the very first power-up. You can tell the designer put real care into both the engineering and documentation.
As someone who does a lot of electronics work, this kit was an absolute pleasure to assemble. Whether you're learning to solder, brushing up on digital logic, or just looking for a satisfying project, this is a fantastic choice. I’d happily buy from Mixed Signal Development again.
Highly recommended.
