Pain in the Butt
Minimal and Modern shipped me a twin bed. I was sent no receipt of my purchase and no tracking number. The only confirmation I received was days later via a text by FedEx telling me my package had arrived at the FedEx facility where I needed to pick it up. So I picked it up and a month goes past before I actually open the box because I wanted to move into my new apartment first. I unpackage it and half of it is missing, so I contact MinimalandModern. They tell me that there were two packages, and that the other package was shipped back to them after I did not pick it up. I had no idea there were two packages; no one informed me, and I was not given my second package with the first when I was at the FedEx facility. Obviously FedEx dropped the ball on that, though it would have been nice if M&M had provided me two separate tracking numbers so that I knew there would be two packages. When I informed M&M of this, they said that if I paid them $50, they would ship me the second package back. I wasn't about to pay $50 to have a package returned to me when I had no clue there was a second package to begin with. So I called FedEx, and they said they could absolutely ship it for free (they were surprisingly nice about it), but that it would have to be the distributor who requested they do so. So I sent an email to M&M, informing them of my call to FedEx, and they never emailed me back. Whataya know, ten days later, my old apartment complex emails me to tell me that they received a package from M&M. It was the second half of the bed frame.
I feel like this whole thing could have been avoided if a)I was provided TWO separate tracking numbers and b), if customer service had taken the time to actually call FedEx and fix the problem, not immediately tell me that they were going to charge me $50 to pay for a shipping mistake I was not at fault for and that FedEx was willing to refund. Also, it would have been nice if they emailed me to tell me that they had shipped the package; instead, I had to rely on my old apartment complex being kind enough to contact me about it.
The product itself was kind of crappy too and took hours to put together, but I suppose M&M is just a distributor, not a manufacturer, so I won't complain about that as much as I could. Will not be purchasing through this company again.
Amazing Customer Service
I ordered a bed from Minimal & Modern. It was on back order but only for 1 week so I waited. The customer service was amazing. There was a constant dialogue between me and Minimal & Modern and the shipment arrived on time and as promised.
I love dealing with smaller online websites that actually care about their customers.
