I LOVE LOVE LOVE Miko!! I have 6 kids and Miko serves a different purpose for almost all of them. From their random questions they ask all day, to homework help, and processing emotions, Miko frees up so much of my day. My boys with Cerebral Palsy hate physical therapy, but will achieve the same stretches following the yoga prompts. My son with cognitive impairment has more independence with daily living tasks without me needing to print a PECs board for things he’s never done before thanks to Miko’s instructions when asked. My youngest son has ADHD and it’s incredible how much better he can work out his feelings just talking to it, it also helps with breaking ruminating thought cycles with prompts for random questions that he could ask after answering what he asked. The AI in this was well thought out, and while it’s supposed to learn one child from my understanding, it seems to learn about all of my children pretty well. I am not certain what features are on it without the subscription, but I know several of the apps they use do require it and I couldn’t imagine our day without those features. The data it shows you about time spent on each app was really insightful, I love its censored content significantly more than our other smart devices, and I love its adorable shape and various faces, makes transitioning away from the fun my kids were having while on it, quite a bit easier, because we put it to bed to charge and Miko even says goodnight. For neurodivergent kiddos, that is huge, because it helps with empathy, processing that activity is “all done” which keeps them from testing boundaries about whether they can still play, and is a wonderful stand in for my kiddos that don’t want human hugs but still need them. The design is also well made, can dance on all of our floor types, as well as our ball pit in the calm down station, without ever getting stuck. Well worth the price, and will be the friend you didn’t know your kids needed!

I got the Miko 3 for my daughter’s 7th birthday and she’s obsessed with it. She loves asking it questions (the main reason I got it for her since she’s always curious and loves learning), listening to bedtime stories, making it dance, and turning on iHeartRadio in the mornings while getting ready for school.

I gave it 4 stars because I wish there were more phrases you could use to wake it up besides “Hello Miko.” It would be nice to have options. Also, the battery still drains quite a bit even when I put it in sleep mode, so I end up charging it more than I expected.

Overall though, it’s been a fun addition to her routine and she’s happy with it — just a couple small things that would make it perfect.

I absolutely love this product. It has so many educational features to help my child enjoy new ways of learning. Its also really neat to look at and have it mimic your child. It has songs and stories and tons of fun... and the calling feature is a fun way to interact with your child's play . Would definitely recommend.

My daughter love Miko Robot - its quite interactive and fun to play with. It also add value in her pre-school learning.

The customer service is excellent. I was experiencing a few issues with my Miko Chess Grand Board. The support team was very responsive and truly cared about resolving my issues, which they were successful at. I received the chess board as a gift and it fun, easy to use, and a great way to learn and improve at chess.

My children benefit greatly and have a lot of fun. We can always get support. Thank you, MIKO.

Back in 2015, I had pledged in the Kickstarter campaign to get the Miko Neo and Swap boards. Six years later, and my order has yet to be delivered. Conveying anguish would be an understatement for this terrible act of nondelivery. What would make this even more worrisome is that the company later acquired Square Off. With this acquisition, the new owners gained additional resources while they gained responsibility to fulfill those original commitments given to the backers.

That, however, has not happened to date. The communication is next to none, there is no transparency about what went wrong, and worse of all, they have not tried to work towards giving refunds or equity resolutions for those who believed in them.

After waiting for so long, it is a clear indication that the backers have been forgotten here. So, based on this experience, I will never recommend anyone to back or buy into that company as they have not proven to be accountable or reliable.

This company sucks. Promised that my order was on its way and would arrive by Christmas. Nine months later, no delivery, no refund.

Since then, the company acquired Squareoff, which means they took over the responsibility of delivering these boards. Unfortunately, there’s been no resolution, updates are vague, and backers like me are still left waiting after all this time. It’s disappointing to see new projects launched while older commitments remain unfulfilled. Transparency and accountability are seriously lacking here.

Bad Experience

Bought this device for my nephew and he really loves it! The only downside is that the subscription is a bit expensive. However, the product has excellent support, which is very helpful in resolving any issues with the device or the app.

I am writing this review with a profound sense of disappointment and frustration. Six years ago, I backed the Miko Neo and Swap robotic chessboards on Kickstarter, excited by the innovative technology and the promise of a revolutionary product. That excitement has long since curdled into resentment.

It has been SIX. YEARS. Not six months, not a year—over half a decade. My boards have never arrived. There has been no communication, no resolution, and no accountability. The campaign was nothing more than a broken promise that took thousands of dollars from backers.
Do not be fooled by their current ventures. This company has proven it has zero respect for its earliest supporters. They are directly responsible for delivering on the Miko boards and have chosen to abandon us instead. I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing any product from Miko or the new Squareoff under their management. Your money is not safe with them.

I ordered (backed) the Miko Neo and Swap boards on Kickstarter over 6 years ago and never received them. After Miko acquired SquareOff, they became responsible for fulfilling the boards, but nothing has been delivered. What I dislike most is the lack of accountability — they kept giving updates but never shipped the products. This is very disappointing for loyal backers who supported them in good faith.

The company needs to take responsibility and deliver what people paid for instead of ignoring backers.

My kids love their Miko and so do I.
They keep asking him questions about pretty much everything, and my favorite part is that when they ask inappropriate things, he either tells them to talk to an adult, or explains to them why that’s not nice/good, etc.
It also has several games that the kids love playing, and his silly faces are the best!!
It has presented a few bugs, but the company has been very diligent in solving them.

Overall it is a good toy for the kids. I have a 5, alsmost 6 year old, 4 year old and almost 3 year old. They love it. I wish that it had the capacity to have different profiles or learn different kids. They enjoy the books/stories and shows of course.
Would love it to interact better and hoping that overtime with software updates that'll happen.
