Bought a monitor. A week later, it goes on sale. They offer a 30-day price guarantee. I just wanted my $50 back. I live 3 hours away, so a 6-hour drive to get my $50 back in person makes no... See more

Must leave laptop for two weeks while on warranty to look at it. Then more time up to two more weeks to wait for part that is know , buzzing speaker. External hardware plug adaptor would have been left with laptop for two weeks then sent to asus for warranty repair. Extended warranty $350.00 is scam. Ex customer now, after 32 years.
Horrible Repair service
This place (Chicago location) has the absolute worst service & repair I have ever seen. I got a PC custom built in June 2020 and bought the insurance plan for 2 years with it, so once the GPU started acting up, I brought it in. I was told it would take 3 weeks for it to even be looked at and then after multiple times of frustration trying to contact and not being able to get through, I was told that it would take an additional 3 weeks because of trying to find a GPU. After more complaining, an employee named Jared was able to look at the PC and cleaned it and called me to tell me that my rabbit fur was the issue causing the crashes and that after cleaning it hadn't been crashing for an hour. After I went home, shortly after turning my PC on and using it for a while I got the same error that I had been getting before. I went to investigate in windows error reporting only to see that it had in fact crashed 4 times during that hour, one of which happened while I was on the phone with the employee. Gerry called me at 6:17 pm and the error I attached with a screenshot happened at literally 6:18pm while I was on the phone with him. Not only that, Jared tried extremely hard to upsell me an antivirus program I wouldn't need for $100 as well as told me I should pay $300 to have them install more fans since it was running hot. If the fan number was going to be an issue, why wasn't I told this when I got the PC built in June 2020? I ended up having to pay $30 and the uber ride there and back for them to clean my PC and still have the same error I was having before. None of this makes sense and just seems like a cash grab, and at the end of the day I still have a broken PC that has a crashing GPU after waiting more than a month just to get it examined.
I will change this review based on how this problem gets resolved as I have yet to bring my PC back in, although to be honest I'm not really looking forward to bringing it back in if the employees won't even look at the windows error logs to see if problems are occurring.
I came to MicroCenter because I was told that they were kind and were good with repairs, but this MicroCenter must not be like the others because I have only encountered rude employees and long waits from this location. I can't believe the sign in the back says repairs will take 3-5 days yet I had to wait over a month. I tried to be understanding but I still have a broken PC after a month and now I'm probably looking at another long wait time for my PC. I really hope that Microcenter can sort this solution with me because I want to believe what my friends said, but this hasn't been the case so far.
UPDATE: I got a message from Gerry telling me that the crashes are being caused from bad airlfow and is still trying to upsell me fans and a fan installation service for 300 DOLLARS. If airflow is such a problem then why did it run 9 months without issue? If this case in particular has bad airflow why was I not notified this when I purchased from Microcenter? Why was I not told to add fans when I first built the PC? Why is my part not being exchanged without questions when I have an insurance plan with the custom build?
UPDATE 2: Store has agreed to swap out card with an RTX 3070 as soon as they receive one in a shipment. Will update again after everything is finished.
UPDATE 3: RTX 3070 is now in my system and they installed it as soon as they got it. I am glad that I was able to work this out with them and that they were patient while I talked this out with them.

Micro Center has a lot of products in their stores. But be prepared to pay full retail and no discounts. If you need a computer part today, chances are they have it.

I have gone 3 different times and made the line outside to get a graphic card. The worst part about it is that when you try and get help or details from an associate you get the "I dont know, just come stand on line at 4am, ect". How is it that you cant give me any more information then that. Really bad business practice
Stay Away!! Scammers!!!
Gave them one star because there is no zero. AWFUL, AWFUL, experience. Bought a monitor for my son’s B-day and when I got home , the
monitor was a used one, got back to the store right away and they didn’t want to exchange it. Totally disrespectful, even insinuating I brought something used!! Long story short I left the store and left the monitor with them , 5 min later they called and said they were going to replace it, I just accepted bc it was late and it was my son’s present, but I will never ever set a foot with those scammers, please beware when you buy there!!! To MC top Management: you must have an inside Mafia working there, put more controls in place. I literally took the “sealed” box from the shop floor and got a used monitor in pretty awful shape. And the way the managers I spoke to tried to handle this case leads me to think they are part of all that. They wanted me to go back home with the used equipment for which 20 min ago I had paid full price, it is just unbelievable.

Website showed qty 2 RX580 in stocked for local pick up only. I checked on 2/13 and 2/14
Instant message, and local store phone cannot verify the stock.
Drove 25 miles there, sale associate told me they had none in stock for 1-2 months now.
They intended to build fake website info to draw customers to their stores
Computer problems not fixed
In January, 2020 I purchased an HP laptop from Microcenter in Downers Grove which worked fine until November, 2020. I took it to Microcenter to be repaired. They were supposed to call me for my password which they never did. I did not hear from them for a couple of weeks. When I called, they told me the hard drive had died, and they were waiting for one to be delivered. I waited a couple more weeks, and still no hard drive. They claimed that due to covid-19 HP was behind in making new harddrives. They finally got a "new" harddrive put in, but it was extremely sluggish. By this time, it was the end of December, and the warranty would run out in January. I really think it was planned that way. I am not pleased with Microcenter, and I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I purchased a 2060 RTX EVGA card from Micro Center, and I love it! Card runs great, and I even got it on sale because it was an open box item. So it was cheap and a great buy! Loved it and the service at Micro Center! Will always buy EVGA items! Highest quality and best customer service I have found.
the stuff working at any is the worst…
the stuff working at any is the worst ever!! been to multiple stores same everywhere they will lie to you about product just to sell on to make extra 0.00001cent they will creep on you for hours and then will give you the worst attitude if you want to buy something else!! or if you don't want to buy their product 2 year protection insurance for 150$ on a 10$ gaming mouse they would just sit there and tell you about it for hours and creep on you just hate the store and the stuff very rude and unprofessional
Save yourself the headache!
I selected an HP printer with the assistance of a white-shirt sales associate. I stated that I wasn't sure if the wireless feature of the printer will work and agreed to the associates suggestion of purchasing a USB cable. We were met with 2 other blue-shirt sales associates who agreed on the cable selected. I buy printer and cable and get home to find not only was it not the correct cable but it wasn't even close. This caused me not to be able to setup and use my printer when I wanted and caused me to have to make a second trip to return the wrong cable and get the correct one. I did speak to the manager upon my returen. I was not angry, irate, or loud. (Not a Karen or Darren) But I did show my frustration and aggravation at trusting 3 employees who all turned out to be clueless. The manager responded with disinterest and condescension. He merely said, "it was an honest mistake." No, it wasn't. It was 3 of his employees unknowledgeable and improperly trained. How many other 'honest mistakes' have they made. I should have just saved myself the headache and went to Target instead.
Inventory your RAM before giving them your machine.
Had a laptop go wonky on me. Suspected the system board. I'm an IT professional, but not in the area of laptop repair.
Dropped off my laptop at St. Davids, PA location.
Tech was quick to get back to me. Sure enough, it was the system board. Would cost more than new laptop to replace it, so I decided to take it back and try my luck with a system board on ebay.
Bought it. Downloaded maintenance instructions and replaced the system board.
During the repair, I noticed two empty RAM slots. I always max out the RAM when I buy a laptop. I had 64 GB, now I had 32 GB. I never opened the case before this either.
When the machine came back up for the first time, I had to re-register Office 365 since it was a new processor and serial number.
I log into O365 and looked at my original registration, sure enough - 64 GB of RAM when I first registered.
Sent an email to tech. I included before and after screen shots of the O365 info. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and said, "I know things get hectic." 24 hours later - still no response.
Still steams me that someone would do something like that.
But the people seem knowledgeable and the store has great products.
If there is a culture of swiping memory from a dead machine, then I blame management.
Opened package paid for nothing
So 2 weeks of shipping time and 1 week for them to review the security camera footage I send them of FedEx delivering an OPEN/EMPTY package to my door! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING! That is my best advice ever I could give you!

Two months ago I was looking for my second monitor and found one in this shop. The salesman did his job okay, I was satisfied with the service and everything went okay. The monitor was alright and then after a few weeks, dead pixels started showing on. They again did their job well by replacing that monitor with the new one. Thanks.
Very bad service
Very bad service: store credit card very slow credit available. Store supervisor told me buy use other cards first, then back return, recharge with store credit card get 5% discount. But when I did, Operations Manager Joseph Johnson said no, even said I wasted their time, let me shop at Amazon. Sales Manager Michael Sayegh behind me said: Don’t come back. I want their head Manager call. They not dare to give me.
Lenovo, Chinese junk, If only I did better research
Left a Lenovo Idea Pad 5 under warranty that had multiple failures within 2 mos.( by the way purchased 2) Microcenter attempting to repair a new laptop, after 3weeks could not repair so they sent off to Lenovo Center in Atlanta. Long story short, microcenter service (Flushing NY.) doesn't even answer the phone anymore, funny huh,. Currently, after numerous hours on the phone with Lenovo, Atlanta ( of course the lovely folks in India answering the phone, have no clue) they are sorry to inform me after 4 weeks they are having problems with parts, boohoo not my problem. RUN FAR FROM THIS COMPANY...now on to CC company to try and get my money back. Never in 40 years of using laptops have I had such a bad taste . BAD LENOVO< VERY BAD..
Absolute lack of experience. READ
So I spent $3800 on a self built gaming rig. Bought the 1250W PowerSpec and asked for cable extensions for my PSU. The sales associate automatically referred a kit of cable extensions. IF I DIDN’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS I WOULD HAVE FRIED MY EXPENSIVE PARTS. The extension cables were the furthest thing from compatible. It’s important to say I nearly dropped 3000 dollars on microcenter parts alone. Which I should add, was a terrible experience within itself. They employee could have easily referred me to someone that knew what they were talking about. It was clear to me he was inexperienced as I already had an idea what I had to look for. But the point is DON’T ASSUME THE EMPLOYEES KNOW WHAT THEY’RE TALKING ABOUT. Especially if you’re planning to spend money on a expensive pc rig.
Trash customer service. I spent over 5 grand on a computer and…
I spent over 5 grand on a computer and accessories in October. Turned on the computer and said it needed and update so I clicked it and now the computer comes on but nothing pops up on the screen. Micro center tech support said I needed to bring it in. So I bring it in at 7 pm. The guy at the front says they’re not taking any computers in to be looked at tonight. I need to bring it back in tomorrow morning at nine. I explained I just drove 45 minutes after being told to bring it in and asked if I could leave it and then you don’t look at it until tomorrow at nine. He said no. So F micro center. I’m putting a bullet through my computer tomorrow and I’m going to best buy to buy another. Hopefully if I ever need it serviced, Best Buy will be friendlier and more helpful. It was a Micro center built computer.
Bought a power supply from them
Bought a power supply from them, it gave up 2 months later, probably can't return it. Had to fight through customer service to use the warranty on my cpu, which took almost 5 hours, and they almost didn't take it because it was missing the stupid heatsink it comes with that I tossed to the side. Just buy stuff on amazon.

This is the last time I shop from Micro Center. Their customer support and delivery are terrible. They don't even deserve 1 star.
Will come again
The workers help me with anything need and told me the best prices for the money I have.
