I brought a small L letter online using afterpay and it was around Xmas time and forgot about it till I got a message to rate my experience. I went in to collect this item at that time and they said I had already collected it and they ask for ID also I must have it . I NEVER collected this ! I called the complaints team and after telling them what happened they said they would get back and again no reply back . So who got my item !? Never have I had this happen in any store . So annoyed and disappointed.

Rude unpleasant little Miss attitude!

Had the worst experience ever today at MH Kawana Shopping World on Sunshine Coast Qld. Upstart woman called Kylie was so rude, with a bad attitude!! MH lost a loyal customer today. I've spent loads of money in NZ and AU I have never encountered such bad manners nor arrogance ever! I do hope you learn to treat people with respect Kylie after all imagine your mother having to deal with that! Life is hard enough these days without people like you, making people like me feel less important! So if you can't approach people with kindness and a professional attitude maybe rethink your line of work.

I bought a pair of earrings for my anniversary, after only a month 1 of the backings broke which led to a lost item and the store would not refund the faulty product. Only a week later the backing for the other earring broke too which they also said they could not replace. Overall a horrible experience for what I thought was going to be a good product.

Bought a lifetime of bills. Thought I was buying jewelry.

Bought a ring for my wife. Regular price was ~$1100. Sale price was ~$900. Ring was inspected every 6 months by Michael Hill store in accordance with contract. After 2 years, the repair was more than $250! That's a repair price of 14 percent of the ring's value every year! If you buy this, you're buying an obligation to pay a significant percentage of the jewelry's value every year! Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.

Do not shop here

In 2013, my husband purchased my engagement ring from the Indooroopilly store with a lifetime care plan. Unfortunately, I first had to take my ring in for repair on the 11/03/2021as a diamond had fallen out and the I had to take it back in for the second time on the 19/04/2021 because the diamond had fallen out. Later, on 03/05/2024, I had to bring my ring back a third time for a similar issue—another diamond had fallen out.
By the fourth incident on 24/10/2024, I was extremely frustrated. I spoke with the store manager, asking for either a replacement or a refund. She mentioned she would contact her area manager and that I could also call customer service. When I called, the customer service representative told me it was due to the ring's age, which made me feel disrespected and upset.
The area manager later contacted me but echoed the same sentiment about wear and tear due to the ring's age. I explained the inconvenience of repeatedly bringing in the ring for repairs. She suggested that next time she would mail the ring to me after repairs, but I never received a follow-up call from her.
Eventually, the store manager informed me that my ring was ready for pick-up. I reminded her of the area manager's promise to mail it to me. She said she would speak to the area manager again, but later called back to clarify that they couldn't mail it directly to me due to policy reasons. Instead, they could only mail it to the nearest store for collection. After picking up my ring on February 07//02/2025 I have experienced the same issue repeatedly: the diamonds in the ring have fallen out. This has occurred five times, with the latest incident happening on March 30, 2025 Despite assurances that the issue would be resolved, the problem persists, and I am now left with an engagement ring that cannot be worn or cherished.
Not only has this caused me considerable inconvenience, having to bring the ring in for repairs and pick it up multiple times, but it has also resulted in emotional distress. The ring holds deep sentimental value, and the fact that it is unreliable means I can no longer consider it to be a family heirloom to pass down to my children. iI have since contacted the ac

After sales service disgraceful!

I was given a pair of 10 KT half round hoop earrings as a gift.
They have been worn for less than 3 months and the thin part which goes through your ear and hooks on, snapped. They have only been worn during the day and never to bed or in the shower etc and are otherwise in very good condition, as they’re put away each night in the drawer box it came in.

Today I went in store at Kawana Waters with the receipt expecting that they would be fixed or replaced under warranty. I was informed that they were not covered under any warranty, because no care plan was purchased.
It was extremely disappointed to be essentially accused of causing the damage, with the shop attendant saying that there was nothing wrong with the manufacturing of the earrings!! One should expect that wearing earrings which cost several hundred dollars last somewhat longer than 3 months!
I left the store in disgust and took them to a reputable jeweller who had a good look at the earrings. They could easily see that they were otherwise in excellent condition but said the gold had poor porosity and it’s no wonder they snapped.
I have purchased several pieces of jewellery through MH before but never again!

I bought my engagement and wedding ring…

I bought my engagement and wedding ring at the same time, we purchased a care package for our engagement ring after the salesperson told us if l lost the solitaire or it needed repairs we would be covered for it . Did my 6 monthly checks, my engagement ring needed work , so the salesperson checked to see about my cover, guess what the care package was applied to the wedding ring. So nothing they could do about it l had to pay to have my ring fixed. I am very disappointed in Micheal Hill and l will never buy anything from them again. If you get a care pack make sure they put it onto the correct piece of jewellery. Wonder if anyone else has had this problem???

Hopeless after sales service

Not even sure I should give 1 star? If you don’t buy their Care Package, which is for 3 or 10 years only, you will have no major assistance with broken jewellery. They will overcharge you BIG time, they are NOT interested in you and the poor sales assistance are at the coal face having to face the customers that don’t matter once the jewellery has left the building. So no back up if something goes pear shaped, not good at all.

Shocking customer service

Shocking customer service. Bought a pair of earrings where the design was clearly wrong and earringsnot identical. Shop refused to refund and customer service in head office the same under the gile that they can't refund on earrings due to H&S (rubbish). Don't buy from Michael Hill, go somewhere where they value their customers and provide customer service.

Don’t trust their systems with insurance.

Spent over 7k with of jewellery and their system “stuffed up” and wouldn’t add the insurance on their system, so they asked us to come back but sign a receipt saying it was all paid, they made a mistake on the receipt after we signed it and said we owed an additional $220 for insurance after being assured there will be no extra costs. So don’t think your a valued customer, just more money for the big guy.

Cheap junk

I bought a few items online (in Canada) and there is nothing impressive about this jewellery. The pieces I bought look like they are for kids. Very small and cheap looking. I went by the pictures of the models wearing the gold necklaces and pendants thinking the items would be the same size . Not even close. The pendants are tiny (like ones you would give to your young child as their first jewellery.) I bought 4 pendants-the diamond bee, a gold heart locket thing, and a couple letters (initials) and a connector- and also 2 gold chains. The gold chains are just cheap thin strings of what was supposed to be belcher chains (but isn't even close to looking like anything), while the pendants are cheap, tiny trinkets that look nothing like they do on the models in the pics. Don't be fooled by this company. They aren't worth the time or the money. I spent 1800.00 cad for not even 1 gram of gold (the jewellery wouldnt even register 1 gram on the scale.) This is just cheap overpriced junk jewellery that isn't worth the price. The packaging the jewellery came in looked better than the jewellery and probably cost more. I'll be returning this junk.

Do Not go to the Frankston store Vic
I took my ring in to get a quote as I lost the Amethyst stone I said I wanted to replace it with a Sapphire the girl said to me your couldn’t afford it even if you wanted one.
I was disgusted in this comment how would she know if I couldn’t afford it. She also said that I can only have another Amethyst replacement I have no idea why I couldn’t have a sapphire??? The lady told me that she will give me the measurements of the stone which is included in the quote.
Last week I went into collect my ring when I said I wasn’t going ahead with the ring the lady only gave me my ring back with No measurements I had to ask for it.
Unfortunately I’m done with this .
I’m never going to any Michael Hill store again 😡

Defective ring.

I have taken in an expensive diamond ring 3 times to MH because the top piece kept coming off, and they have refused to warranty it. It has been very frustrating dealing with them, as they are blaming me for the poor design of the ring. The first time it happened they gave me a new ring, as they agreed it was a design flaw, but when it happened 2 more times to the new ring, now they refuse to warranty it and are saying it is my fault. Terrible customer service, don't buy from them!!

Bad Quality

Purchased gold stud earrings for my granddaughters Birthday from Indooroopilly, her Birthday was after Christmas but purchased them a few months earlier when sales were on, but still pricey but that’s ok thinking it’s good quality, boy was I so wrong !!
First week of her wearing the earrings the back part of the earring broke apart basically crumbled, gold should not do that. Went back to the store and they gave me another pair which I was ok thinking maybe it was just a bad batch but then 4 days later same thing happened. Went back to the store for the second time and this time they replaced back only, the staff member was quite rude he basically didn’t give a crap. Apparently he said there's no refund on earrings that’s their policy, Its understandable if it’s a change of mind but faulty earring design and quality is reasonable reason for a refund or even if they could offer a credit note to purchase another style of earring. Both visits staff were so rude to me and to my daughter, what happened to customer service ? I’m so embarrassed that my gift to my granddaughter for her special Birthday is crap and now she is too scared to even wear in case the backs break down and she’ll looses one of the earring.
I did question the staff member if the backs break apart again what happens next and he said we may escalate ?
What does that mean ?
I said to the staff member lucky both times we manage to catch the earrings what happens if the back breaks down again and we lose one of the earring he was like well then we can’t do anything!
So basically they’re hoping we loose one of the earring and then the store doesn’t have to deal with the issue. The only reason my granddaughter would loose the earring in the first place is because the backs break apart which is clearly a fault of the design of the earring.
Think again customers before you make any purchase, be aware there is no after service.
I have purchase many Jewellery pieces from other stores and have never had a problem on quality and have never faced such rudeness.

Do NOT go to Manawa Bay store.
Keep as far away from this store as you possibly can.
I’ve had good experiences with other stores but the manager at this store and his sidekick sales person are absolutely fraudulent. If there was audio in their cameras, (I have been told they don’t have audio recording with the cameras) they would be reviewed and both would be sacked. I wish there was a full investigation from Australia on what went on.
