Disappointing and Unprofessional – M&S Should Seriously Reconsider Its Association with MFDP Ltd
I am extremely disappointed by my experience with MFDP Ltd, a company apparently acting on behalf of M&S Bank in relation to my credit card account.
Their approach to customer communication has been nothing short of frustrating. Trying to contact them by telephone is virtually impossible. Calls either go unanswered or simply ring off, and despite receiving emails from them, there appears to be no accessible email address through which to respond directly.
For a company dealing with sensitive financial matters, particularly customers who may be experiencing financial difficulties, this lack of communication is completely unacceptable. How can customers be expected to resolve matters constructively when the organisation contacting them makes it so difficult to engage?
As a former M&S employee and long-standing customer, I find it astonishing that a brand with such a strong reputation for customer service would choose to associate itself with an organisation operating in this manner.
The whole experience gives the impression of a cheap, impersonal debt collection operation, with little apparent consideration for the circumstances or wellbeing of the individuals they are dealing with.
I have already escalated my concerns to the Executive Customer Service Team at M&S, who have acknowledged my complaint and confirmed that it has been shared with their Board of Directors and referred to M&S Bank for investigation.
In my opinion, MFDP Ltd is doing considerable damage to the M&S brand and the trust that customers have placed in it over many years.
M&S has spent generations building a reputation for fairness, integrity and customer care. It is deeply disappointing to see that reputation potentially undermined by the conduct of a third-party organisation representing its financial services business.
My advice to anyone dealing with MFDP Ltd is to keep detailed records of every attempt to contact them and escalate concerns directly to the financial institution involved.
M&S deserves better representation, and its customers certainly deserve better treatment.
