Yuck!

I bought a frozen meal today from Metro, and it was so dreadful that I was only able to eat about 3 mouthfuls. I followed the heating instructions. I followed the stirring instructions. While my garbage disposal was probably happy, I wasn’t. Thanks to this experience, I will not buy the Metro Irresistible brand products again.

Deleted my account

Today I deleted my Metro account. When I opened my account, I set it to English. For a short time I received emails in English, then they switched to French. For over a year, I have called and emailed Metro several times and they keep telling me to set my account to English, which it already is. I am now going to tell everyone I know to shop at other stores.

Metro Montreal, Parc Avenue

The service at the Metro on 3575 Parc Avenue in Montreal is abysmally poor. The fast checkout is often open, but nobody is operating the checkout. Alternatively, multiple employees are at the checkout and ignoring customers, while chatting.
Unfortunately, this happened today again, as it did multiple times during the last couple of weeks.
To be fair, employees who have been with this store for several years are helpful and considerate. However, the more recent hires do not care - at all.

Marvelous Metro

I have been shopping at Metro for quite a few years now. I have found the fruit and vegetables to be fresh and eye appealing. The other products are reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and helpful. The self-checkout is very convenient.

Purchase of a block of cheese in Feb

Purchase a block of cheese in Feb. 2-2025, best before date Apr. 8-25. It was moldy by the end of March. Emailed Metro March 28-25 with picture of the cheese wrapper showing the best before date. I deep sending them messages and they keep telling me they have alot of requests. What does that tell you. Metro must sell aot of bad product for it to take 2 1/2 months to get help with a probelm. Metro sucks.

Selection brand (Metro) Frozen California Mix

Topic : Selection brand California Blend frozen vegetables
Have you ever seen such a mess? Green Carrot tops added to the weight. Broccoli bottom stems (not the expected flower tops). Mostly Carrots pieces. This was very, very disappointing.

All American fruit and vegetables

All American fruit and vegetables. I have said so on social media. This is unacceptable. I am a longtime Métro customer. All my fruit and vegetables are now going to be bought where they are not american. Pointe-Claire Plaza Métro. A free box of Yankee biscuits. You will lose more customers until I see a change.

I used to shop here up until today…

I used to shop here up until today (Beaumont location). I was asked to present my ID in order to pay for my groceries with my credit card. When I asked why, given that this has never happened to me before there or any grocery store for that matter, I was informed that it was for fraud prevention. I have been shopping here every week for years and suddenly I get asked to show ID. This is the same amount of money I typically spend. Funny because the people before me weren’t asked for ID. When I told the female manager to make sure she card the people behind me in line, she invited me to shop elsewhere. I didn’t realize a young person (I’m in my thirties) merited an ID check to pay for groceries with her credit card. Absolutely appalling and just incredibly disgusting.

They have an advertisement online of their butcher cutting meat for a client. The Metro near my house doesn’t have a butcher. Sometimes I go and there’s absolutely no steak or just one type of cut available. Trash. I go to IGA.

racism and prejudice at Metro stores. It is also a violation of Canadian Charter, Ontario Human Rights Code which protects visible minority Canadian citizens from such blatant discrimination @ Metro.c

We visited Metro at 3003 Danforth Avenue, Toronto on Tuesday 13 May 2025. A middle- aged , Caucasian-white male (who was talking to the 2 Caucasian-white, blond haired, female supervisors at Customer service desk- both females And all employees did NOT wear any name- tags, refused to provide any names, were disrespectful and unhelpful with non - white customers) was publicly harassing visible minority customers in the store. He wanted to use the washroom "out of line" (jumping the line) ahead of other waiting 3 visible minority customers, simply because he was Caucasian-white (and he publicly yelled this at them). He threatened these visible minority customers, and claimed to be " friends " with the customer- service desk 2 Caucasian-white female " supervisors in - charge". When one of the waiting visible minority customers politely objected to his disrespectful racial abuse, he spoke to the middle- aged Caucasian-white blonde haired supervisor in- charge at the customer service desk (who did not display any visible name tag, and refused to provide any name, but claimed to be the manager in- charge). Both these Caucasian-white people instructed security-guard to order this polite rightfully- protesting visible minority Customer to leave the store. This is practical manifestation of racism and prejudice at Metro stores. It is also a violation of Canadian Charter, Ontario Human Rights Code which protects visible minority Canadian citizens from such blatant discrimination seen at Metro. Ca.

On Tuesday at Metro

On Tuesday, I went to the Metro on Bloor at Walmer in Toronto late in the afternoon to get a frozen vegetable mixture which I had found there about a month before. I get frozen mixtures from the top three I shop at -- Loblaws, Farm Boy, and Longo's and went back to this Metro because of the four, Metro is the only one that has this mixture (no broccoli or cauliflower or green beans which the others have in part or full). I went to the frozen veg section and there was only one bag left! When I saw someone stocking shelves nearby I asked if they could check in the back to get me a few more. They said the person stocking frozen vegetables was not there today and they could not go in the storage area to get them! Ridiculous I thought because they were literally 12 feet from the storage area! But this is a four star story, Right? Well, I went to the customer service desk and said I wanted to see the manager. Rhonda at the desk called Ellie the manager and she came shortly after. I explained the situation and she said that she would be happy to find out if there were more in the store to unpack. She called Tony who I guess is the manager for that area and told me to wait. I waited for about five minutes and out Tony came with a box of them! I took two bags and was thrilled as I do not shop in this area and had made a special trip. Hats off to Ellie, Rhonda and Tony for making it a great customer service experience. They were all so pleasant and genuinely eager to help!

Under Staffed MetroI most often shop at my local Metro…

I most often shop at my local Metro -Bathurst St / Steeles Avenue Toronto. I have at times stop in at about 6 pm when people shop on their way home from work. The store is often under staffed with 1 person on the cash and 1 person on self checkout. When I get stuck on self checkout I often don't get quick service the way I would like and the line up at the cash is too big. I am now switching to the competition across the street that is better staffed and has lower prices.

Metro makes garbage burgers!

I want to make a complaint about a specific product that they sell. They sell and also produce Selection brand quarter pound beef burgers. How you can get away with calling these burgers good quality or burgers in general is beyond me! They are the absolute worst most tasteless Frozen pieces of sawdust I have ever had in my entire life. Walmart's great value brand makes better burgers than you! That's disgusting Metro is supposed to be a respected Canadian company that makes quality products and you failed at this very very poorly with those burgers. We're supposed to have some of the best farms in the world but maybe you're getting your beef some somewhere else. Which is also disgusting because you should be using Canadian especially in times like these. You should be ashamed yourselves people! Do better!!!

Metro is the worst grocery chain in Montreal

Metro used to be a lower level competitive store like Maxi & SuperC. Now they raised prices and made a better flyer, but the rest is the same lower level.

Their private brand is trash, but they call it irresistible.
Can say that they are the worst in the big brands.

I can promise you as a previous employee in their warehouses there is no food safety taken place. I have seen mold, birds pooping on product that is still being sent to the stores. Very dirty in the warehouses and metro only cares about its profits and not public health
