Terrible customer service for breakdowns

I called out Roadside assistance regarding my MY24 EQB 250+ (2 years old owned from new) due to the AC Charging failing to charge the car. The fault was confirmed by the engineer as the car and not the charging unit. Mercedes then inform you to take it to nearest dealer for repair and a courtesy car will be arranged. However, the dealer takes absolutely nothing to do with the courtesy car and fobs you off back to the Mercedes roadside call centre. The call centre then tell you the dealer should confirm the courtesy car for you but can only do this once you arrive. When you inform the dealer they still take nothing to do with the courtesy car so you get stuck in a loop being passed from pillar to post. Stuck with a broken car and no clue about how to get a courtesy car - absolutely horrendous service for customers who have purchased brand new and still within warranty.

Mercedes CLA 250+ EV dangerous car

Welcome today I would like to bring to the world the gremlins within the Mercedes CLA 250+ EV.

I have had this vehicle since February leased through tusker. I have had five very near misses.

1, I was driving along the M11 and the car decided to start an emergency stopping procedure where it put hazard lights and braking along with pulling the vehicle to the left unfortunately between me and the hard shoulder was three HGVs, not fun and frightening.
2, I had two incidents the same week the car carried out emergency stops when nothing was in the way.
3, in June I was travelling home along a country lane doing 50 and instigated an emergency stop to a complete stop with a BMW behind me that nearly hit me.
4, the last incident is the attached picture and video where for no reason the car came to a stop on the side of A14.

Now I have tried to talk to the tusker that I would like to cancel the lease, but they are not listening as this is a salary sacrifice through my employer. And Mercedes don't seem bothered. In fact they are dismissing me as a liar.
Are there any other owners having the same or similar issues with there mercedes.

The reality is extremely disappointing

The reality is extremely disappointing. The Mercedes quality and customer service that existed years ago simply seem to be a thing of the past.

If you ever have a problem with your Mercedes, don’t expect Mercedes Customer Service to help you find a solution. At this point, you would probably be better off throwing the car away than trying to get the issue resolved through Mercedes.

Substandard quality EV steer well clear

Extremely disappointed with the poor quality of Mercedes Benz EVs.
I have a 2022 EQA with full MB dealership servicing and only 36000 miles on the clock.
Just been informed that the electric motor has failed with a price tag of over £6000 for parts and fitting. There are currently no replacement motors in the country and I will be without my car that I have to continue to pay for indefinitely!
The electric drivetrains motor is expected to last well beyond 37000 miles under standard consumer expectations.
I stupidly went for a MB thinking I was buying a quality car, turns out that is not case anymore. Substandard parts just with a very high price tag as it has a MB sticker on it. Should have gone with the BYD. Lesson learnt really poor show for Merc, really poor!

Mercedes-Benz has provided some of the…

Mercedes-Benz has provided some of the worst after-sales customer service I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing.

I purchased a vehicle from a Mercedes-Benz dealer that was advertised as having a Head-Up Display. However, after purchasing the vehicle, I discovered that this feature was not actually included. I therefore believe that I was misled about a significant specification of the vehicle at the point of sale.

I was offered £200 as a “goodwill gesture”, which I do not consider to be an adequate resolution given the circumstances. I was also assured that a senior member of staff would contact me to discuss the matter, but I am still waiting for this call.

I am particularly concerned that, while I have been waiting for a response, the 14-day return period has now passed. This has left me in an extremely difficult position, despite the fact that I raised the issue promptly and have been waiting for Mercedes-Benz to address my complaint.

I am extremely disappointed with the way this matter has been handled and would like a senior representative to contact me urgently to provide a suitable resolution.

If this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint to the Motor Ombudsman for further investigation.

I look forward to receiving a prompt response.

I had our mercedes benz A200d premium plus serviced at Harrogate Mercedes Benz. I was greeted by a kind and professional lady called Isabell, happened to mension when I gave her my key we have had the car for 3 years now and intermittently the ALARM would trigger without reason ever since we got the car "Not From Them" I thought it would cost a lot more than I would like to pay and so isabell said leave it with her and said I'll see what I can do about it. A few hours later she rang to say they found the fault much less than I thought so I authorized the repair job done fixed. A very big thank you to the mercedes technician and Isabell for sorting the Alarm fault at such a reasonable cost. Chris Dawes

DO NOT BUY A MERCEDES!

I have been extremely disappointed with my experience with Mercedes-Benz.

Since taking delivery of my brand new vehicle last year, I have experienced multiple faults, including a serious electrical incident where a USB port emitted smoke while I was driving. Despite this, I have found the overall handling of my concerns to be slow, disjointed and frustrating.

Communication between the dealership and Mercedes-Benz Finance has been poor, leaving me to chase updates and act as the go-between. Rather than working together to resolve the issues, I have spent months sending emails, making phone calls and trying to coordinate between different departments.

Whilst some individual members of staff have been professional and helpful, the overall customer experience has fallen far below what I would expect from a premium manufacturer. The lack of urgency, poor communication and the amount of time and stress this has caused have completely eroded my confidence in both the vehicle and the brand.

This has been, without question, the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I would not recommend Mercedes-Benz based on my experience.

I bought my Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 brand…

I bought my Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 brand new because I believed I was investing in a premium vehicle that would be reliable and dependable. Unfortunately, my ownership experience has been the complete opposite.

The vehicle has broken down three times, causing significant inconvenience and stress. At only 41,000 miles, I have now been told that the electric water pump needs to be replaced. Despite purchasing the Mercedes-Benz Extended Warranty, I am now facing uncertainty over whether this repair will be covered.

This is not the first major issue I have experienced. The entire in-car entertainment system had to be replaced, and on another occasion, the wiring in the engine compartment melted. I was informed that this repair was not covered under warranty, leaving me to pay £1,550 out of my own pocket.

I have always maintained the vehicle responsibly. I purchased genuine Mercedes-Benz oil filters and service parts directly from Mercedes-Benz and had the servicing carried out by an independent VAT-registered garage in accordance with the manufacturer’s service schedule.

For a vehicle that was bought brand new and has covered only 41,000 miles, I find the number of serious faults extremely disappointing. The repeated breakdowns, expensive repairs, and uncertainty surrounding warranty claims have completely eroded my confidence in the vehicle and the ownership experience.

As a result, I have decided that I will be selling the car. Sadly, after this experience, I would not consider buying another Mercedes-Benz.

Don't pay up front for digital excellence package

Be very wary about paying in advance for Digital Excellence package. If you pay monthly you can stop at any point. Buy a year's subscription in advance and there is no option for a refund if you sell the vehicle. The buyer inherits the remaining term by default - and may or may not realise it.

Poor Customer Service

⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5)

I wouldn't recommend the service department at Mercedes-Benz Peterborough to anyone. The level of customer service is incredibly disappointing and nowhere near what you would expect from a premium brand.

The staff are unfriendly, unhelpful, and seem completely uninterested in providing good customer care. Trying to contact the service department by phone is an exercise in frustration , the phone just rings for 15 minutes or more with no answer, which is simply unacceptable.

Overall, my experience has been extremely poor from start to finish. The service department seriously needs to learn what 5-star customer service looks like. Customers expect professionalism, communication, and respect, but unfortunately, none of that was evident during my experience.

Overall rating: 1/10. I expected far better from Mercedes-Benz.

Ignorant staff, wasted my time for no reason !

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the extremely poor customer service I received at Mercedes-Benz Lakeside.

On 15 July 2026, I booked my vehicle in to have a new key coded. During that visit, Mercedes-Benz carried out a health check on my vehicle and provided me with a quotation of £560 for the recommended repairs.

Based on that health check, I decided to have the work carried out and booked my vehicle in again on 20 July 2026.

When I arrived, I specifically asked to speak with Shelly, as she had previously told me over the phone to ask for her on arrival. Once she came to reception, I clearly explained that I wanted all of the work listed on the previous week’s health check to be completed.

Shelly informed me that the technicians might carry out another health check before starting the work. I made it absolutely clear that, regardless of whether another health check was carried out, I still wanted all of the work identified in the previous health check completed. I also said that if the second health check identified any additional issues, they could let me know afterwards. Shelly confirmed that this would be fine.

She then told me she would call me later that day with an update.

Unfortunately, I received no phone call or any communication throughout the entire day.

As the dealership was about to close, I returned at approximately 5:15 pm to collect my vehicle and find out what was happening. I asked whether the work had been completed as I needed my vehicle to get back to work.

I was told that Shelly would come and speak to me shortly. After waiting around 20 minutes at reception with no one coming to update me, I asked to speak with the manager.

A gentleman then came to speak with me and informed me that no work whatsoever had been carried out on my vehicle.

What made the situation even more frustrating was that I could clearly see Shelly in the office, yet she did not come out to explain what had happened or apologise.

When I explained to the manager that I had specifically instructed Shelly to proceed with the work regardless of another health check, he told me they had experienced problems with their communication system and had been unable to contact customers that day.

This explanation raises several questions. If there was a communication issue, why was I told I would receive a call later that day? More importantly, why was no work started on my vehicle despite my clear instructions to proceed? If your communication systems were not working, why did nobody attempt to speak to me before I arrived at the dealership at the end of the day?

I also wonder how many other customers were affected by this failure in communication.

I expect much higher standards from a premium manufacturer such as Mercedes-Benz. Sadly, my experience at Mercedes-Benz Lakeside has been extremely disappointing. The level of customer service, communication and professionalism fell far below what I would expect from a Mercedes-Benz dealership.

As a result of this experience, I wasted an entire day without my vehicle, received no updates whatsoever, and left the dealership with exactly the same issues I had arrived with. This was completely unacceptable.

I would appreciate a full explanation as to why my instructions were ignored, why no one contacted me, and what Mercedes-Benz Lakeside intends to do to resolve this matter and restore my confidence in your service.

I have a Mercedes GLA 2024 and have…

I have a Mercedes GLA 2024 and have owned it from new.
The feel of the car is certainly premium however, the ride is ridiculously hard, with little absorption of bumps and road imperfections.
The engine is very tappety; it’s not really noticeable in the cabin however upon startup, it sounds like a high mileage car.
Finally, the driver aids make this car dangerous to drive, and there is no easy way to remove them. The car brakes without warning, and the lane assistance is laughable, requiring me to frequently fight against the steering when the car decides that that I’m am not perfectly central in the lane.
As to the local Sandown Poole dealership, the service staff are rude; when I made a comment at my first service that the car was overly reliant on technology, the comment was dismissed.
This whole experience has been poor, and if you are seeking a quality German marque, you are better with a BMW or Audi.

Approved used car sold with resprayed panels and unaligned panels

Undisclosed poor-quality repairs, ignored by management, matter being referred to Ombudsman
My daughter purchased a Mercedes-Benz Approved Used vehicle from Mercedes-Benz Hertford (operated by Group 1 Automotive). Shortly after purchase, we discovered extensive, poor-quality paintwork and fitment issues at the rear of the vehicle that were not disclosed before the sale.
The rear bumper has a visibly mottled, rough finish and a noticeable colour mismatch. It was also not clipped in correctly, causing uneven gaps around the boot and light fitting. An independent inspection confirmed that the left-hand side had been resprayed very poorly. How these sub-standard body repairs were ever deemed acceptable on a car sold under the Mercedes-Benz Approved Used scheme is shocking.
We legally rejected the vehicle shortly after purchase, but Mercedes Hertford refused to provide a refund. We have repeatedly requested the Approved Used inspection and preparation documents to see how this vehicle supposedly met Mercedes-Benz standards. These have still not been provided, and our requests are being ignored.
We have contacted the dealership, senior management, Mercedes-Benz Customer Advocacy, and Group 1’s dedicated complaints department. Our final correspondence gave them a clear deadline to respond. That deadline has passed, and we have been completely ignored. I fully expect a generic response beneath this review asking me to contact their complaints department. To be absolutely clear: we have already done that repeatedly, and your complaints department has ignored us. Asking us publicly to contact a department that refuses to respond privately is a PR tactic, not a resolution.
I strongly advise prospective buyers to read the other one-star reviews on Google. Since this dispute began, I have seen several reviews describing worryingly similar experiences involving previously resprayed or repaired vehicles, undisclosed defects, refused refund requests, and customers struggling to obtain any response.
When the car was briefly left with them a week after purchase for other issues, it was also returned with new scratches. I was promised a phone call from Lee Taylor the next morning; unsurprisingly, he never called.
The matter is now being formally referred to The Motor Ombudsman. This has been an extremely stressful and disappointing experience. Once they have your money, they simply do not care. How Mercedes-Benz head office allows this branch to damage their brand reputation like this is baffling, and Group 1 head office complaints department ignoring a dispute of this seriousness is even worse

Fraudulent Servicing & Negligence—Blew My Turbo and Injector!

Avoid Mercedes-Benz Worcester and Mercedes UK Customer Support. My car has been serviced exclusively by Mercedes Worcester from day one. Their records claim they changed my engine air filter 3 times. In reality, it was never changed. This extreme neglect choked the engine, resulting in a failed turbo and fuel injector.
When confronted with the facts, Worcester Mercedes denied everything, and Mercedes-Benz UK customer care completely ignored my complaints and backed up the dealership's lies. They charge premium prices to falsify service history and destroy your car. It is absolute robbery. Avoid this shambles of an organization.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Bought a 2 year old used C53 under warranty. Within a month the light came on to say it needed a full service at £900.
Next, driving round my normal roads that I have been doing for 40 years tyres started going down - 3 wheels were cracked. MB said it was my driving!
Finally, the pan roof started to generate a terrible rattle. Took it in and they agreed it was not right. BUT I had to authorise £1,500 spend to just “investigate” the issue. If it was found that the rattle was on a part that was not covered under the warranty I would be charged £1,500 just for the privilege of finding the issue. As you can imagine I asked for the warranty exclusions and it is ridiculously extensive! Basically a used MB warranty is totally worthless - they exclude pretty much everything.
I have been a BMW driver for 20 years and for some stupid reason thought I would try a MB! Never again - MB is a terrible company, the quality of their cars is appalling and they are devious about getting out of any claim. DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE AND DONT BUY A MB!!

No where near a top notch service I'm…

No where near a top notch service I'm afraid:
1 waited 28 minutes this morning- should be an easier pre-booked system/support when leaving keys;
2 could not get through on service phone line (in afternoon) despite several attempts ( no text received even though OoO explicitly says ‘no voice messages’);
3 constant nox sensors failure unresolved as inherent problem as per recall on your diesels;
4 wanting visual inspection for competitive sale quote, even though serviced today directly with you.

If you're thinking of buying a Merc, Don't

I bought a C 300 AMG for cash from Sytner Swindon. It seems that I was sold the car with a faulty battery and two cracked rear prop couplings.

The battery was replaced under warranty, but Mercedes stated that the couplings were 'considered a wear-and-tear item' after only 6 weeks! The issue should have been identified during the pre-handover inspection.

Now the company has stopped responding to communications, and promised calls have never been returned. Totally unprofessional and a let down in my opinion.
