Absolute scam! It's a trap for the people it claims to try and help. I did not find the content engaging. They span you with so many emails it's too overwhelming to do anything other than delete them all. They don't make it clear that after a year they will charge you triple what you initially paid. They apparently sent an email a month before to warn me, but it was lost in the sea of spam. They have said that, despite being to see I have not used the program, they cannot refund me for the extra year days after they charged me. I was already in debt and struggling to keep myself going and now the program that was meant to help heal my trauma is adding to it.

Candid, insightful, guiding and shame/blame-shifting. I have taken something from all of the sessions, injected the positive thinking into my daily life which has been a salve to my troubled thinking. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to put this time aside for yourself. The impact could be immense.

I joined a series of free workshops by Gabor Mate and others. They were profound and moving at the same time as creating space for Mentorshow to invite people into their longer paid program. The sessions were very insightful and thought-provoking. Any opportunity to hear Gabor Mate is not to be missed.

I was born and raised in a cult. You helped me understand what trauma is, and you gave me the strength and confidence I needed to move forward with treating and healing it. I sincerely thank you for your contribution and support. R. K., Greece

I originally paid less than $400 for the H.E.A.L. program with Gabor Maté in September 2025. I was not aware that this would automatically renew for another year at a cost of $1,200.
I was unexpectedly charged $1200 on September 28, 2026, despite never intending to renew at this price. I contacted MentorShow to request a refund and after explaining my concerns, they said it was in their Ts and Cs. However they did not send an email asking whether I wished to renew. They came back and said that they did send me an email (which I did not receive, all the other emails I did receive) I went back asking them to confirm which email address the email came from. I have not heard anything back. However, since they charged me and I cancelled on the very same day - there is no reason that they cannot honor my request for not wishing to take up another years subscription. This is very unfair and I feel unethical for a company that preaches to help people. They should provide ample warning that your subscription will be automatically be renewed and give people a choice. I never received that.
Based on the multiple recent negative reviews of this company I’m clearly not the only person that wasn’t aware of this renewal process and encourage others thinking of using this service to be very careful.
I find the automatic renewal and the huge price difference particularly concerning.
Terrible ethics, especially if you think about the content of the traumawork of Mentorshow, please beware.

This program has been incredibly enriching and supportive for me. I love the diversity of perspectives and the way trauma is explored from so many different angles - psychological, physical, emotional and beyond. I keep coming back to the sessions and find them genuinely helpful and healing. I've already signed up for my second year and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for support on their healing journey!

As others describe - paid £399 for original subscription then one year later unknowingly charged £938 for a further year via auorenewal.
Whilst an email was sent by Mentorshow ahead of payment, it was deceptively in the usual marketing style email, with pictures and glossy style, like they send each month, seven of which I'd received in that month alone. It is designed to stay hidden and undetected amongst the other junk emails.
I cancelled my subscription after I realised payment was taken. I then contacted mentorshow requesting a full refund. They replied saying they had cancelled my subscription (untrue - I had cancelled it, not them). They completely ignored my request for a refund and my subscription is live until September 2027.
It is a highly deceptive and disgusting practice which will catch so many people out who cannot afford this, including myself. How can a company apparently working to educate around trauma undertake such a practice?
I would strongly strongly deter anyone from signing up and I am pursuing things further.
Updates:
02.10.26: Following Carla's response on Trustpilot I was emailed and offered a 100% refund which Carla said her manager had agreed to. However, it was requested that I first close my Paypal case against them and put my trust in them that they would then refund me. Additionally, they asked if I would reconsider my review if they issue the refund.
03.10.26 I wrote back thanking Carla and accepting the 100% refund, but requested it be paid back to Paypal as per guidance, and the case will then be closed, and I will happily update my Trustpilot review.
04.10.26 Today I received an email from Carla asking if a 60-70% partial refund might be acceptable, if she could arrange this with her boss. I declined this offer as I've already accepted the 100% refund offered 2 days ago. I am currently waiting for it to be paid into my Paypal account.
06.10.26 Mentorshow have now refunded the full payment to me. I am very relieved and satisfied with this end result. They have asked if I'd now consider amending my rating to a 4 or 5. This feels difficult when their ethics are so questionable to me. Fortunately their hand will be forced by UK legislation being rolled next year, where they will have to give UK customers a cooling off period on the autorenewal. However, if there were a genuine regret for the upset and financial shock/hardship being caused as indicated in their responses here, and a stronger moral compass, they would act now and amend their current practice without being forced to. And fully reimburse all of the customers who have approached them on this. I do very much support the work they do but it's difficult to not be left deterred by the shadow underbelly of it.

Update: Carla has reached out to me and she comes up with a solution which I am happy with. Glad that they still care about well-being.
'With more and more people suffering from this appalling auto renewal policy without receiving a clear ,proper reminder. This is obviously a scam. And I have sent a few more emails including an official complaint to MentorShow to request a full refund. Based on another victim, I also filed a report with France's consumer protection authority (DGCCRF via SignalConso) and has initiated a formal dispute with my bank regarding the unauthorized charge. I will be proceeding with legal action if this can’t be sorted out.

I am devastated that Mentorshow has taken 1,056.52 euro from my bank account to renew a subscription I tried to cancel. They are saying they sent me an email to remind me of the automatic renewal but unfortunately the email seems to have gone into the 'Promotions' part of my gmail and I never saw it. I cancelled my subscription when I checked my bank account and saw this payment 'pending' but they replied to say I have to pay for the next 12 months! I emailed them to ask them not to take the money. I cannot afford to lose over 1,000 euro for a service I hardly used over the last 12 months( cost less than 400euro for the initial subscription). I intend to raise a dispute with my bank. Shocked and mystified that a company purporting to help people is behaving like a thief.
See reply from MentorShow below - two days later I am still waiting for Carla to get in touch! 02/10/26 2pm.

I signed up for Mentor Show a year ago to watch a master class with Gabor Mate. After that I never used the content which is mostly in French. Unbeknown to me they have automatically renewed my membership at a cost of £453 without my consent. I didn't want the membership and Mentor Show have refused to refund me despite the fact that I cannot afford it and now can't afford my rent.
They are exploiting vulnerable people with their slick marketing. They are using the good name of people like Gabor Mate to profit from the vulnerable. It is very well masked and targeted.
Mentor Show is a Venture Capital backed company. There investors want a return which is where the customers come in. I have since seen that many others have been scammed to the tune of thousands of pounds by this auto renewal scheme.
When I attempted to get I touch the customer support is automated. It took 10 messages to get a response.
The response was cold, dispassionate and patronising, totally ignoring and indifferent to the fact that I can't afford it?
This has caused me a lot of stress and left me helpless as I have no means of getting my money back.
They refuse to help, show, empathy or compassion and they certainly don't hold or demonstrate these values.
Despite the best intentions of Mentor Show and the good content they have put together, I don't believe the suitors are aware of this exploitation of vulnerable people who are drawn to these classes like moths to a flame.
Also as this company is based in France and takes US dollars it is much harder to follow the money.
I'm appalled at this situation.

As other people mentioned, signed up last september for a 399E Gabor Maté programme. Didn't use any, and now missed the "cancel or you will automatically renew for 1200E" email, buried among lots of other mails from them, not stating clearly that is was about autoreneweal that I never agreed to. Now receveid a french email with invoice and 1200E from my creditcard. Even though I immediately contacted them to cancel they ended the subscription - september next year! I have contacted my bank to get a full refund as this is clearly an unwanted (and probably illegal) method, autorenewal of a subscription buried in some email, and then simply charging the card. This feels very much like a scam, and Gabor Mate should be emberassed to be part of it, preying on vulnerable people.

$0 renewal notice, then charged $1,200 — eventually refunded in full
I am sharing my experience because I think anyone with a MentorShow subscription should check their renewal information very carefully.
I subscribed to MentorShow Plus in September 2025 at a promotional rate. My original confirmation stated that I had annual access with automatic renewal and that the standard renewal price after the first 12 months would be $598 per year. It also stated that I would receive a reminder 40 days before renewal.
MentorShow sent that reminder on 14 August 2026. It specifically stated that my subscription would automatically renew on 23 September 2026 for “$0 USD for 1 year.”
I subsequently searched my emails carefully and found no correction to that notice and no communication telling me that a different amount would be charged.
On renewal, MentorShow charged my card $1,200 USD — approximately £901.
I contacted MentorShow immediately, explained that I did not want the renewed subscription and requested a full refund. I did not use the renewed service.
My refund request was initially refused on the basis that the subscription had automatically renewed and had not been cancelled beforehand.
I then pointed out that MentorShow’s own renewal reminder had told me the renewal amount would be $0 USD. MentorShow asked me to send a screenshot of that email so that they could review my case again, which I did.
In the meantime, because my refund had initially been refused, I raised a formal dispute with my bank. I also cancelled future renewal of my MentorShow subscription myself, and my bank placed a block on any future subscription payments to MentorShow.
After reviewing the evidence I supplied, MentorShow subsequently wrote to me:
“Upon review, we found in the email reminding you of this renewal that the amount isn’t correct.”
They apologised and issued a full $1,200 refund, describing it as a “one-time goodwill gesture.”
I received formal confirmation that the $1,200 refund had been processed on 27 September, and the refund has now reached my account.
I appreciate that MentorShow ultimately reviewed the evidence, acknowledged that the renewal email contained an incorrect amount and refunded me in full.
However, I found the experience extremely stressful. $1,200 is a substantial amount of money, and in my case it was taken after the specific advance renewal notice I received stated that the renewal amount would be $0. The $1,200 charge also differed substantially from the $598 renewal price stated in my original subscription confirmation.
I am sharing my experience because it may be useful to other customers who find themselves facing an unexpected renewal charge.
My advice would be to keep your original subscription confirmation, check the amount shown in your renewal reminder, retain your emails and other documentation, and contact MentorShow promptly if the amount charged does not correspond with the information you were given.
My own case has now been financially resolved and I have received the full refund. I am pleased that MentorShow ultimately reconsidered its initial decision and returned the money.
However, based on my experience, I will not be subscribing to MentorShow again.
UPDATE – 5 October 2026
Following the resolution of my case and receipt of my full refund, MentorShow contacted me again.
In that email, I was asked whether I would consider removing this review or changing it to 4 or 5 stars, now that the matter had been resolved. MentorShow explained that “negative reviews have a direct impact on our work”.
I will not be removing or changing my review or rating. My original review already clearly acknowledges that MentorShow ultimately refunded me in full and that I appreciated them reconsidering their initial decision.
My review and rating reflect my overall experience of the renewal, the unexpected $1,200 charge, the initial refusal of my refund request, the subsequent resolution and the way the matter was handled. I therefore believe it is appropriate for the review and rating to remain unchanged.

UPDATE – 1 October 2026:
MentorShow contacted me and indicated that they were willing to resolve this with a refund. I replied promptly and provided the confirmation they requested. Their response was also forwarded to me through SignalConso.
Unfortunately, I have not heard anything further since then. Their message gave me reassurance that this was finally being resolved, so the silence afterwards is disappointing and leaves me uncertain about whether the refund has actually been processed.
More concerningly, I have now seen other customers describing similar problems with renewal amounts. If there is a technical or administrative issue affecting renewal notifications, I sincerely hope MentorShow investigates and corrects it urgently. An incorrect renewal amount is not a minor inconvenience when customers can subsequently be charged substantial amounts of money.
I still hope MentorShow follows through with what was offered. I will update this review when I receive confirmation or the refund reaches my account.
---
I am extremely upset about what happened with my MentorShow subscription.
The membership information shown to me clearly stated that my subscription would be automatically renewed “for an amount of $0 USD for 1 year.”
Despite this, on 29 September 2026, NZ$2,172.07 was charged to my bank account.
I did NOT expect or knowingly agree to a renewal costing more than NZ$2,000. If the renewal information had shown that amount, I would never have allowed it to renew.
I contacted MentorShow immediately after discovering the charge and requested cancellation and a full refund. I have not used the renewed subscription.
NZ$2,172.07 is a very significant amount of money and this unexpected charge has left me in serious financial difficulty. I have already contacted my bank, blocked my card, and have been advised about the formal dispute process if this cannot be resolved directly with MentorShow.
I have also contacted Carla at MentorShow and provided evidence showing that my renewal information stated $0 USD for 1 year.
I am posting this review because I want this issue addressed urgently, and I believe customers should carefully check their renewal information and bank accounts.
I will update this review to accurately reflect how MentorShow responds and whether the full refund is provided.

Update: I sent MentorShow clear written proof that their own renewal reminder email quoted "$0 USD" as the renewal amount — not the $1,200 USD they actually charged. Their response? Repeat, twice, that I "may have simply missed" the email. They never once addressed the fact that the email itself contained the wrong price. That's not an oversight I can excuse — that's a company choosing not to engage with evidence that doesn't suit them.
Instead of a full refund, they offered 50% as a "goodwill gesture," asking me to essentially thank them for it. When I filed a report with France's consumer protection authority (DGCCRF via SignalConso), MentorShow's official response tried to get the case dismissed as "unfounded," claiming it was "already being handled" — while simultaneously, and separately, their support was negotiating a partial payout to make me go away quietly. Two different postures, at the same time, depending on who's watching.
This isn't a billing mistake anymore. It's a company that got caught sending inaccurate pricing information, was shown the proof in writing, and chose to manage the optics instead of taking responsibility. For a business built entirely around personal growth and trust, that's a serious gap between what they sell and how they actually treat people.
I've declined their offer and am pursuing a full refund through my bank and consumer protection channels, with the full email trail as evidence.

This is a scam!
The guests supply good content, however they keep your bank details then do an automatic subscription at many times the original price.
Then when you ask for a refund, they pretend that they sent you an email ahead of time, however of course when you check there was no such email.
Then when you leave a complaint on here you get a very polite reply that looks like they will sort it our via email. Then you dont receive the help or the email as promised from 'claire'. You are told the only way to stop the auto renewal is to log in and cancel, but wouldnt you know it, i can no longer log in even though I have 'autorenewed" and my login details had been saved to my computer. Please pursue with police as a case is being compiled.
