Wrong Choice, possible attorney-client privilege breach
I spent over a year naively trusting Menard Disability Law to help me win my disability case. Autumn Menard had told me she believed I would win due to the particulars of my case. She also let me know that we could have to go to the appeals hearing level before winning. So I waited patiently even though she refused to call me to discuss concerns and special circumstances, and even when a consultative doctor claimed I didn't show up when I did -- still no phone call to me. Nor would she ever honor my request for a phone call when I had a serious concern. (In fact, once she took my case she never called me again, instead moving my requests to an online platform with minimal if any contact.) When I received the initial appeal denial I contacted Autumn to file the appeal to the hearing level. Instead of doing that, she sent me a letter telling me she's quitting my case. She did not bother to call me or talk with me first, which I interpret as her not being willing to do the work if it isn't easy and laid out for her without effort -- she just was hoping for an easy, no hassle win/fee. Obviously she was not interested in the special needs of my case after all. But she should have told me that up front so I could have hired a better, more committed attorney to begin with. Now I have to find a new one in a rush. Also of note, when I tried to contact the company who referred her to me to report this problem and ask for a new attorney, they sent a response 'it seems we will not be the best fit for you at this time ' -- in a text message! To me this seems to imply that Ms. Menard told them private info about me / my case that would cause them to reject my request for a new attorney without even talking with me first. I believe that a breach of attorney/client privilege must have occurred for this to happen the way it did; otherwise how would the referring company have decided suddenly to un-client me? This is all a very big deal for me but apparently not for this lawyer nor the people who send her business. Oh and btw, this law firm's supposed address in Oregon appears to be just a building, perhaps a mail receiving service? They are actually located in Arizona.
