Hello Lisa,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’m sorry this situation was frustrating for you.
To clarify, all our plugins are sold on a subscription basis with automatic yearly renewals. This is clearly communicated on our website and in our emails, and we also send multiple reminders ahead of the renewal date with instructions on how to cancel if the plugin is no longer needed. Renewal payments are clearly marked as non-refundable. We are as transparent as one can be about these things, because like you, we do not like surprise charges, and upsetting people.
In this case, the subscription was not cancelled prior to renewal, which is why the payment was processed. Simply stopping the use of the plugin doesn’t automatically cancel a subscription, as we don’t have visibility into whether a plugin is still being used unless the subscription is explicitly cancelled. Hence why we emphasis all of this in all our email communication. If the subscription had been cancelled beforehand, the renewal would not have occurred.
That said, we do genuinely appreciate you having tried WP 2FA, and we’re always happy to help if you’d like to get more value from it or give it another try. If you have any questions or would like assistance, our support team is always available and happy to help.
We appreciate your feedback and hope this clears things up.
