Awful experience, so much distress caused.
Incredibly sad to not be able to write a good review to a fellow entrepreneur.. but I feel the public should be warned at the awful experience I have had from this company.
I entrusted Matt with my fully functioning current eccomerce website (I moved hosts as my current host was moving away from web design).
All I have experienced from this company is 12 weeks of lies, lack of professionalism and loss of money and loss of my website.
12 weeks and not only were the small little edits to my website not done, but also my website was completely deleted and lost whilst in this companies hands.
This company has a complete lack of time management and clearly operates to bare minimum standards and doesn’t even adhere to their own policies.
The jobs Matt was supposed to do should have taken a couple of days perhaps a week at most! But the fact I had to wait more than 4 weeks (whilst paying him I’ll add) for him to just transfer over my emails and website to his hosting shows just how lax his efforts were.
It was then another couple of weeks that went by and still none of the small jobs looked like being finished and that’s when everything got much worse.
Matt said my website had been deleted by hackers!
What’s worse, after speaking to other website designers, it’s clear that if the website was ‘hacked’ then malware checks and protections were not taking place.
It is suspected that the full truth about what happened to my website is not being disclosed honestly by the company.
It’s also clear no backups were being performed at any given time, although he has stated “back ups are a courtesy” backups should be gold standard practice. So anyone thinking your data is safe with this company it is not.
Matt promised to get my website back asap and gave me timelines which didn’t happen.
It got to 12 weeks and I still had no form of functioning website.
I was emailing multiple times at this point getting more distressed as Matt kept feeding me lies, saying multiple times “I’ll have something the end of the week”(that didn’t happen) and then “I’ll send over what I’ve got so far later tonight” (that didn’t happen) then when he finally sent me links to my website there was nothing more than the beginnings of a landing page, and when then questioning him he’d say “oh I moved the website away from that platform so there’s nothing on there, I’ll send you a different link” (yet no link came).
At this point I’d been paying this company for hosting for 4 months, and I had less than what I started with. I think at this point anyone could understand why I’d had enough and pulled all of my domains and emails away from this company and sought legal advise.
What is even more alarming from this company is that after seeking legal advise and requesting a refund for the terrible service (or lack of) Matt has gone as far as to change his current policies (without amending the dates of policy updates) so they seem to coincide with his correspondence to me in an attempt to cover his tracks and refuse me a refund. A very alarming and dishonest move to make.
Word of warning for any current customers, read his policies as it’s more than likely he also hasn’t let his current customers know about his change in policy (although he legally should).
All I can finish with is this company/ this man is incredibly untrustworthy and clearly lacks any form of professionalism in his work.
He doesn’t take responsibility and clearly has no regard for the distress he has caused myself and my company.
If I could give no stars …I would.
