SCAM!!! Misrepresentation of Business and Products / Products Not Received
SCAM!!!!!
In mid-June I clicked on an Instagram advertisement for jewelry.
The advertisement falsely claimed the company was closing within 24 hours, but the countdown timer resets daily, which is misleading.
The website stated it was a Dutch company established in 1973, with an address on Kinkerstraat, Amsterdam (no house number provided).
The company name used is Meijer Juweliers, a deliberate variation of the name of a legitimate Dutch business (“Juwelier Meijer”), clearly intended to confuse customers.
I believed I was supporting a local Dutch business. However, after placing and paying for my order, I discovered the following:
The return address is in China.
Numerous online reviews identify this company as a scam/dropshipper reselling low-value items from Temu/AliExpress.
I requested cancellation and refund before shipment, but received no reply.
Despite my request, the company supposedly shipped the goods. On 18 August I received an email stating the products were shipped, but to date (4 September) I have not received any package. The website claims to ship via PostNL. If this were true and the company were indeed located in the Netherlands, I would have received the order by now.
The website advertises 24/7 customer support, yet I received no response despite multiple emails.
To return products, the company requires customers to pay for shipping with track & trace to China. This is unreasonable given that the business and products were misrepresented.
This constitutes clear misrepresentation of both the business and the products. I would not have placed the order had I known the truth.
I have disputed this transaction with my credit card provider and requested a refund via chargeback.
